| I think a lot of people miss the idea of long running anime that can go beyond 24 episodes in a row. Most anime tend to just be 12 episodes. I do not think quality is the reason though all big 3 have some good points. Plenty of better anime exists. |

| @MadLane This. Apart from edgelord haters and weird elitists, I can't recall any bigger, unspecified group thrashing the most popular anime by calling them "the worst anime" in the past. Not only 10 years ago, as it was mentioned in the original post, but more like ever. The most popular animanga series have become popular for a reason. Cult status, franchise being very profitable, devoted and huge fanbase - these elements are rare to appear at the same time, and yet, franchises like Dragon Ball, Bleach, One Piece, and some other ones too, managed to reach such heights. |

| Idk about people who say "it was never a thing" but they are delusional. Those comments were mostly a "war" between the Big Three, and yes, some seriously do believe that the Big Three is garbage. Doesnt really make it wrong or right, its just a thing that happened and isnt at the forefront in discussion right now because they arent airing at the same time atm. |

| People like to be contrarians and hate what's popular all the time. One Piece has always been good, Bleach has always been good, and Naruto has always been good. Personal preference doesn't really change the fact that they were objectively the BEST selling shounen manga for years. I watched all three, Bleach & Naruto Shippuden as it was airing. I'm still watching One Piece, and I'm watching Bleach TYBW arc as it airs. I think anyone who has a super negative opinion for any of these anime/manga probably never watched or read them at all. Also younger fans who got into shounen with BNHA or Jujutsu Kaisen probably have no idea where these series share their roots (it all comes back to Dragon Ball, fellas!). So, yeah, people hated the big 3 some years ago but I think now there's enough hype (for at least Bleach & One Piece) for those haters to actually see that they've never been bad; they just never gave them the chance. edit: almost forgot to include that people universally hate filler arcs (and anime only viewers who don't know what isn't canon genuinely made filler arcs less enjoyable for manga readers I think), and ALSO a lot of people were getting tired of the very long slog of chugging through an anime at the length of the big 3. For a while, most anime were anywhere from 12 to 25 episodes, so I think the attention span wasn't there for a lot of new viewers (no judgement, I have to take periodic breaks with One Piece because of how long it is). |
