I respect the take, I just disagree with it. Theres plenty of real life examples of people taking a beating and not retaliating. Due to her size and presence alone, she was able to survive and scare off the smaller natives.

I respect the take, I just disagree with it. Theres plenty of real life examples of people taking a beating and not retaliating. Due to her size and presence alone, she was able to survive and scare off the smaller natives.
Let's not forget that the main reason why the natives decided not to escalate the situation further is because they heard a child crying from inside the house, which meant that the swords that they're looking for are most likely kept somewhere else and there's no reason to get into a tough fight with an intimidating hulking beast like Cordelia if it's simply not worth the risk of losing a number of soldiers.

What do you want Cordelia to do in that situation then? Go on a shonen-style super saiyan rage and kill all the natives? Thats more unrealistic than what she ended up doing. Standing her ground and making sure nobody entered where the newborn baby was seems realistic to me, especially someone who hasnt fought in the past

My dude you talking about the same manga where Thorfinn could go face front assault on a bunch of vikings to turn the tide of the battle and come out a winner or Thorkell could do it with ease but that's beside the point. You're absolutely mental to even suggest standing around getting stabbed by spears and arrows is the way to go what if there's a bigger force that wouldn't back down? You just stand around like a human meat shield?. The most realistic approach is actually retaliating when you're confronted with deadly weapons. Heck Cordelia doesn't even have to wipe everyone in there, You just need to show that your people aren't a bunch of pacifier sucking push overs and will actually fight back when forced. It's always the extreme end of the spectrum with you Thorfinn copium defenders. You either kill everyone or don't hurt anyone at all. There's a thing called in between which this manga failed to learn from it's exact premise. You can be a peaceful man and be aggressive to protect your loved ones. |

| People need to understand that Thorfinn will fight if it is the last resort He did it in the Baltic Sea Arc- MULTIPLE times, and he is doing it now in the Vinland Arc- this is the "in between". He will protect his loved ones/family/friends by using the Last Resort. He said it himself in the Slave Arc Violence for him is the last resort, everything else is the First Resort- Running, Talking, Dodging, even getting himself beat up. And he has showcased both ends- he will fight if hes pushed into a corner, and if he cannot do anything else. He will always try to use the First Resort. |
| I mean of course in the face of such awakening, anyone would call it a day lol. Though I'm glad Cordelia still is alive and fine, at least she does look so, but those are some serious injuries.. so we can't be too sure. Anyways, congrats to Thorfinn and Gudrid. |

I feel like there’s several instances in the manga where there’s in between lol. Just recently you see Thorfinn fighting the Natives in the woods. I’ll leave it at that though, especially since you’ve resorted to name calling during an argument 😂

| Cordelia still being alive just made my day. With the flashback, I'm like "welp, this is it" but she's learning to stand up (literally and figuratively) for herself. I was anime only but caught up on the manga the past few days. I would catch up in such an intense part LOL |

| I binged everything from Chapter 43 to 208 in less than 4 days today, and I have to say those four days were genuinely one of the best times I ever had while reading manga. I believe this is the start of the downfall of Thorrfin's ideals; everything he imagined and accumulated throughout his whole life about "the perfect paradise on earth" is now bleeding. His character most likely won't be able to hold much longer and we could see a shift in his vision soon, along with Einar, his sworn brother, whom he practically shared that vision with. It will be an extravagant ride as the story tries to unfold and (hopefully) reach a decisive conclusion. |
