THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Ducks is such an underrated type of food dish. I'm glad to see this anime explore more into that.

Episode is alright but Mao got himself caught into some drama in town again. It's a good thing he can keep his cool and thoughts as open as possible.

You can tell from the preview of the next episode alone that it'll be the moment when Mao change from a boy to a man!

Anyway, at this pace I can't see how this will cover the whole Shin story. It'll definitely cover volume 11 but not 12. Maybe if we're lucky enough the ending of Shin story will be 1. in a movie theatre 2. mixed with prequel reboot (unlikely) 3. mixed with Kiwami sequel (more likely)

Mao vs. Jochi, and Mei Li as judge, because the Underworld Cooking Society just can't be more blatant enough to manipulate feelings.

Cooking theme: Peking ducks, and creativity is up to the chefs. As much as food is concerned, nothing is ever grave as being poisoned and played at (for such an obvious trick of the trade).

Thankfully there's Fei who came back to the rescue, not just as Mao's Super Chef competitor, but to put him in place as the naive kid chef who remained the exact same from before.

A rematch, but with Fei governing the match without any resource. The rematch against one of the "Five Tiger Stars" and the Super Chef is about to begin, no mercy.

lolz the turn of events only made Mao stronger!
so Mao's Eternal Rival is Fei huh...?
but it looks like the rematch would be fiercer than ever!
and looks like Gov would have a hard time judging the two! hahaha!
5/5.

I've been waiting for the duck dishes to come, didn't know though that eating the duck feet was a thing. After all his cameos its finally time for Fei to save Mao in his most vunereable moment. Too bad they can't prove Jochi was the one who poisoned Mei Li.
