| One Outs - it's Death Note on steroids. Imagine combination of Light Yagami and L Lawliet as a baseball pitcher and you get Tokuchi Toua - MC of One Outs. This show is another masterpiece done by Madhouse, but I don't see many people who talk about it. The whole series is on YouTube btw. I would recommend it to everyone who likes psychology/seinen/sports anime. |

| Every time this question, comes up, I feel as if it's extremely difficult to judge what exactly qualifies as an "unheard of" anime. Can you, OP, or anyone else shed any further light on this? Because I feel there are two levels of "unheard of". There's unheard of among the majority of the general public and then there's unheard of among regular anime fans who participate in online forums like this one. Before I got into anime in 2016, I feel like everything was "unheard of" to me except Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Bleach, Evangelion, and most of the Ghibli canon. And I feel the same is true for much of the non-anime watching public who watch other TV, but with the advent of online streaming services and their growing hegemony since the early 2010s, you can throw in all of those titles plus the big "trending" seasonal battle shounen of the past 5 - 8 years (SnK/AoT as a prime example). Then the world of online communities of active anime watchers is something different. Something which most non-anime watchers haven't heard a single thing about or even the name of are well-recognized household names in here. Even if people haven't personally watched them themselves, they know their influence and legacy from their respective vocal fanbases. So which is it you're looking for? For now I'll assume the latter and post just a few titles, mostly the same of what I usually contribute whenever this question arises. Shows which I hold up there as among the best I've seen yet rarely to never see here mentioned here either in a positive context or just neutrally discussed in general (even just mentioned in lists or just reviews/analysis) and the only place I ever see anyone really discussing them on MAL is in their very seldom posted in show-specific sub-forums: Hyouge Mono Ie Naki Ko Remy (WMT series) Akage no Anne (WMT series) Aishiteruze Baby Petshop of Horrors Dennou Coil Beatless Kodomo no Jikan Angel Cop Eve no Jikan And I don't usually watch shorts (episodes of less than 18-25 minutes in length) and I haven't seen it through to completion yet, but also Warau Salesman. |

Gurren Lagann is one of the most popular anime of all time. Even here in Italy (where the anime fan population is kinda non existent) is known as heck. Btw I would say Naruto is a very good anime but pretty unpopular sadly |
