Seiya finally appeared! His attitude was, is and will be inspiring as a perfect example of determination. Shoko couldn't have more luck than meeting such a Saint as Seiya is and watch his brilliant duel with Shiryu during the Galaxian Wars. Hearing Pegasus Fantasy (in Saintia Sho's style) during Seiya launching Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken was truly a cherry on top.

I'm glad that other Saintias finally appeared. Cold and distanced Katya and joyful, happy and with a sense of humor Xiaoling (her text about steamed buns was magnificent, haha).

The Grand Master of the Sanctuary accepted Athena's challenge and started open war against Saori and her allies. I can't wait to see Mayura going like full power with Katya, Ewan and Georg. Saving Cosmo by blocking all senses gives a massive power boost in Saint Seiya universe to everyone who decides to returned his/her senses.

From things I didn't like was that scene when Shoko's necklace, presented to her by Kyoko, slipped away. It looked so random and unrealistic, but Seiya saved the day anyway.

btw. do you also felt like Saori had too big head compared to also too thin, or better and directly said small body? It looked disproportionate before, although in the scene when Shoko woke up in the hospital it was the most visible.

This Seiya looks more like Dohko than Seiya.

Ah, the Galaxian Wars, what good memories.

IMO, better episode than the last one.

I never liked Seiya, but it was nice to see him.
Xiaoling seems rather funny, and Katya is also cool.

My favorite part, though, was appearance of Aphrodite at the end.
Both he and Deathmask are least popular Gold Saints, but that scene showed, with his mere presence, that he is really dangerous and powerful Saint.

Seiya was the best part in this episode.

Aphrodite in the end was just......SHOW ME SOME RESPECT,I'M A GOLD SAINT.

Not only did they give Seiya his replacement voice but also his TV Cloth... what a waste of an episode.
Is it me or Saga got yet another seiyû? -_-

The Galaxian Wars second scene made me laugh a bit seeing the non- bruisy non-bloody bodies of Shiryû and Seiya. At least, we got the music right.

3/5

And since I was not familiar with the currently adapted portion:
- I highly dislike the chinese Saintia's Cloth design. The mangaka hadn't yet given interesting creations but here she kind of failed.
- I was expecting some non-sense with Aphrodite's implication but it was actually fine, he was presented as someone knowing the truth.
- did the mangaka really give gravity -related powers to a Silver Saint o_O
- nice to see a Saintia who wasn't brainwashed by the Glaad Group. That was my main grip with the premises of the manga: to have a whole cast of Saints directly affiliated with the Kido for no reason.
BUT the author could have chosen someone else, the girl is now yet another cold-using bronze Saint sent by the Sanctuary.

Seiya!!!! ^^ his sole presence made this so, so much enjoyable and tasty. I would have liked though his design to be closer to the original one, but this new one is fine.

Reference to the classic and unforgettable Seiya - Shiryu tournament encounter was so nice.

But now I don't understand how is it going to be possible that Saori now kidnapped is going to be away from the deliverance of the tournament when she had always been present during its celebration making company to the bronze saints... is she going to be away for a single morning or something and then she's not going to say a word about it? xD

I very much loved this episode and the last! This series is going in an excellent direction. Only being familiar with the tv anime, having everything be on the table already is different enough to make this interesting on basic plot alone! :)

Shoko has really lost everything. Her entire purpose was to save her sister, it was her purpose for fighting and looking forward. With last episodes events her momentum was wiped. She even had to get ready to put on a positive attitude when she went back home. When Mirai showed up at her house it injected some brief happiness in the surrounding sad scenes but that was removed as soon as I realized they were taking Kyoko's cloth. Not only did she lose her sister and her purpose but also her cloth and almost her necklace. But Seiya was there to save the day. I like how Kyoko and Seiya are inspirational figures to Shoko, he came when she needed help, saved her necklace, cheered her up, related with her, and told her to stay happy for her sisters sake. It was exactly what she needed and to see what he does best, never giving up, in the Galaxian Wars, it was enough to move her to fighting again. To keep on hoping and trying her best. He really dragged her out of her rut! Sadly, Saori has yet to have a figure like that inspire her.

When she acted strong towards seeing Shoko off in the first scene despite her being traumatized and upset too it reminded me of a line from One Piece. "That’s what it means to be captain isn’t it, don’t lose yourself. If you waver who can we trust”, essentially, you have to show confidence no matter the situation for your people. It did even further when we saw her somber expression reflected in her drink. She's acting strong, kind of like Shoko did before she met Seiya, but both let their hopelessness out in their own ways.

IT WAS AWESOME TO SEE THE GALAXIAN WARS FROM AN AUDIENCE PERSPECTIVE! Seiya vs Geki and Seiya vs Shiryu! When Shoko left the room to answer the phone I could even visualize the off screen kick Seiya did to win against Geki. It didn't capture the beauty of the Shiryu fight but it really didn't need to. It was really awesome to see and Seiya really just made me happy every moment he was on screen.

Finally we are introduced to more Saintia that are prepared from the academy! Like Rei366 said, it's odd to have Kido linked to official saints and I don't think that plot element will effectively work, but if you ignore that I think they are interesting so far. Xiaoling seems like she acts brazenly and is very bold yet isn't as confident on the inside. She was very nervous fighting Katya. And Katya or should I say girl-Hyoga was pretty awesome. She was absolutely fierce and she had a meeting with the Pope that convinced her that the academy had to be telling lies. It was enough for her to change allegiances. It must have been very impactful!

Mayura seems to have brought Mirai and Shinato as her trainee's from the Sanctuary or something. She must know that despite her understanding the truth somehow(maybe she saw Athena's attempted assassination?) that she couldn't convince the others so she decided to take leave and bring those who she could convince to fight the good fight! Her body is very interesting, I wonder if we will learn what is wrong with it. Despite some hindrances she is still the strongest female saint!

Lastly, Aphrodite seemed to go against the Pope's orders as he was ordered to not mind their mission and follow along with the plan yet he went to get her anyways. He also knows her identity as Athena!

I thought the same thing! Haha, I bet this will be a separating point from the original and that it will tweak the story in a few ways.

Not to spoil anything, but it'll fall in place. Remember that Gold Saints move at light speed, and while Saint Seiya doesn't go crazy with flying scenes and the like, it's why the characters hop all around the world so quickly.

This episode was so cool!

I mean, the start was kinda bad. "Hey, your sister trained secretly for years in order to protect you from the fate of becoming the vessel of an evil god, and died in your place bearing this same fate, but hey, it's over so go back to your normal life." Like, lol, I know Saori had good intentions, but no wonder the girl cried saying she had nothing left.

Her meeting with Seiya was pretty cool though, I like him very much, but he isn't even my favorite and I was fanboying like a kid again, the moment that song kicks in when he is about to use his Pegasus Ryuusei Ken, that moment is pure gold! And Mayura is cooler than what I thought too, and I can't blame that Katya for falling for Saga's charms, he has that hot body, I mean, cosmo, but. lol I thought she was under the control of the Genrou Maou Ken or something, and she may be, but it doesn't seem like this is the case.

This episode was very very cool from a fan service perspective. Seeing the Seiya vs Shiryu fight from the audience was great. It was interesting that Shoko's friend thought the fights were fake (like wrestling I guess) so that must be why after the Galaxian Wars, the world didn't really change much. Everyone probably figured it was all special effects. I can't wait for the next episode.

He is also my fave, but I believe we won't see much of him, it's gonna be a lot of Seiya...

I guess people couldn't believe that humans can move so fast or generate energy blasts that deal huge amount of damage to their opponents. :-) Some could've believed the announcements, but Rumi could belong to the skeptical part of the audience. That's why she thought that all those fights were not for real.

I know right? It was a huge disappointement for me, although the main purpose of this scene (Shoko seeing how Seiya proves that a person mustn't surrender even when everything seems to go in a bad direction) was preserved. Although I expected to actually see Shiryu to be honest, or even some more actions of Seiya vs. Shiryu duel, but oh well...

I was not surprised by the look of Seiya's cloth in his fight with Geki. It was kinda easy to predict. Gold Saints have their hair colours straight from Saint Seiya anime, so Bronze Saints having their cloths as they appeared in the anime was not something that couldn't be expected.

(I won't quote the image, as for I am responding right below your post)
Aye, I noticed it as well.. Sadly, while overall quality goes higher with each episode, I must say I noticed more and more poorly scenes with each episode as well. I hope we will see less of them, because while they last a short moment, they are visible. It's better than it was in Dragon Ball Super's first episodes anyway, though.
