Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru

The world's greatest assassin had sworn lifelong allegiance to the organization that raised him. However, despite his loyalty, that very same organization takes action to silence him, ultimately leading to his demise. Drowning in frustration and regrets he can no longer suppress, he finds himself in an audience with a goddess attracted by his exceptional skills. The goddess offers him reincarnation into a magnificent world of swords and magic so he can perform a crucial mission: prevent that world's destruction by slaying its hero.

Accepting the goddess' request, he is reborn as Lugh Tuatha Dé, the son of a noble family of assassins serving the Alvan Kingdom. Under the guidance of his father, Lugh learns new assassination techniques that significantly differ from the cold-blooded and unsympathetic killing style of his previous life. Furthermore, his other talents bloom, allowing him to meet new allies and acquaintances. Even so, Lugh knows that his efforts are far from adequate, because a monumental adversary such as the hero can only be defeated with perfection.

My Review of The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat — 6/10

So, this anime promised me a world-class assassin reincarnated in a fantasy land with a mission to kill a hero destined to destroy the world. Sounds awesome, right? Like, finally, an isekai that’s gonna be different and actually interesting.

Well… spoiler alert: it’s mostly just your classic isekai checklist. Magic? Check. Noble family drama? Check. A harem that somehow appears out of nowhere? Double check. If you’ve watched one or two isekais, you’ve basically seen this story before — just with a slightly sharper knife.

The main character, Lugh, starts off ... as this deadly, cold assassin, but once he’s reborn, he somehow turns into the world’s most boring noble kid. Like, I’m still waiting for the badass assassin to show up again. Instead, we get a guy who could star in a “How to be Emotionally Dull 101” tutorial.

And the girls? Yeah, they’re mostly there to remind you this is an isekai harem show — with all the fanservice and shallow character moments you’d expect. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for some eye candy, but can we at least pretend they have a personality?

The pacing? It’s like the writers said, “Hey, let’s spend half the season on side quests and awkward romance scenes while the main mission takes a nap.” So if you’re in it for the actual assassin stuff, you might have to wait a while.

On the plus side, the animation and fight scenes are pretty solid — at least my eyes weren’t bored.

In the end, I’m giving it a 6 out of 10. It’s watchable if you just want some mindless isekai entertainment, but if you’re looking for something with real character or originality, you might wanna keep your assassin’s blade sharp and keep looking.

Mixed Feelings

WOW this show is just some of that great old isekai slop that I LOVE. Assassins are very cool. Assassins with magic... even cooler. The main character is, of course, overpowered. The relationship dynamic between him and his family are pretty enjoyable to watch as it falls into a subplot of lineage.

However, it can get a little weird when trying to explore some other standards of isekai tropes. For example, the fact that the main character is a literal 80 year old man who is reincarnated and proceeds to hang around younger girls and even has one scene where well... he should be getting the ... treatment that Rudeus gets.

Nevertheless, I like to pretend that the main character just has knowledge of our world and that fixes that issue. Kinda.

Better than your normal isekai.

I'm OK with isekai anime being cliche. "The World's Finest Assassin" has all these typical themes in it - reborn, choosing of skills, proficiency in magic as result of being isekaied, harem of submissive girls, impressed parents and so on. It's fine.

What can't be accepted is the form. 60/70 years old, grey haired man is transformed into kid. Ok. But why the heck is Lugh acting and thinking like kid. He forgot his whole previous identity? Why steady old hitman acts like 12yr old boy? He makes childish mistakes, losses his temper, is turning red around girls. My complain is that it didn't take ... much to make this 3-4/10 show into 6/10. Why there isn't his old VA as a narrator of his thoughts? Only his body is young, his soul remained the same.

We watch isekai/tensei anime to see how mc is using his old life knowledge to his or her advantage. It's rarely shown here and when it does it is in so unrealistic matter. How can we possibly believe a hitman remembers atomic mass of gold element?

One more thing. Female characters boobs are too big while brains are too flat.
