Recommendations

Both are dark stories with lots of action, violence, and mature themes. They are flawed in many ways, such as animation quality, however, these flaws make both anime unintentionally comedic. If you enjoyed one, you will surely like the other! I recommend watching both.

Both use CGI in a horrible way, and make stories without any textual narrative quality, but it serves as a study of CGI, in case you like it

Usually, these recommendations are based on the common good parts. This time, it's the opposite. If you're looking for anime production that is significantly bad on various accounts so your main source of enjoyiment is watching the trainwreck, these two anime are just for you.

Both of these series subverts what we might consider as anime. It throws our pre-established notion of what 2d animation or animated media should be out of the window, straight to the sun to be burnt to a crisp.

Similarities - Humanity is overwhelmed by advanced technology manipulated by an unknown faction - Both MCs are considered powerful and legendary due to their background and presence in the show - Both MCs work in a task force to carry out their operations Differences - 86 has phenomenally better art and pacing than ex-arm - 86 squad are a highly trained crew of child soldiers VS ex-arm is a human implemented in ex-arm tech

Both have some of the best CGI usage and combine 2-D and 3-D characters in an exciting way!

Both of these are older and make me laugh really hard. I really adore these odes to mediocrity that these have become.

Action takes place in not so distant future, where technology heavily advanced and androids are now commonplace. Main girl is an android, who meets a boy. Both are rather poor in quality.

Are you browsing through MAL, bored, wondering how low can anime production go, what is the least amount of effort one can do to still creat something that gets called anime? Well here are two titles that might make you think about that concept.

They both have an android heroine, who fights criminal organizations, and the transhumanist theme is also at stake, where AI works as a receptacle for life after death ... if you liked GITS, you might be interested in Ex-Arm

3DCG sci-fi series in which the protagonist(s) find themselves a dozen or so years further in the future, in a world where the military has more control. The protagonists in both shows are part of a special military team tasked with finding people who would harm the peace, and even have the potential to destroy the world - that being psychics in Night Head 2041 and people with physics law-breaking weapons called Ex-Arms in Ex-Arm. The protagonists in both shows are also that which they are trying to destroy - psychics and an Ex-Arm. The plot in both shows can get equally convoluted.

A SciFi that involves losing their humanity and becoming something more. Both are mysterious and have mc that get unique powers in their respective universes. They have a similar aesthetic when it comes to the CGI techniques employed during much of the combat/action that if you enjoyed one, you would definitely enjoy the other.
