In the film's story, there is a sudden explosion at Tokyo Summit's giant Edge of Ocean facility. The shadow of Tooru Amuro, who works for the National Police Agency Security Bureau as Zero, appears at the site. In addition, the "triple-face" character is known as Rei Furuya as a detective and Kogorou Mouri's apprentice, and he is also known as Bourbon as a Black Organization member. Kogorou is arrested as a suspect in the case of the explosion. Conan conducts an investigation to prove Kogorou's innocence, but Amuro gets in his way.
This all could have been so nice, an explosion, Kogoro framed as the culprit, put on trial, while Conan desperately tries to prove his innocence and find the one who actually committed that terrorist attack. Maybe even taking his adult form, because of Rans distress.
Instead it kinda feels half assed to me, smacked together with some over the top danger and of course insane and utterly bullshit action scenes pulled of by Zeros out of this world driving skills and his incredible super car, which can jump and crash down a few meters without much more than some cosmetic damage. Are we playing Need for
Detectiv Conan was once more or less realistic, but the recent movies are always going more and more over the top, even more than some of the old ones. Also it's always the same pattern, between the Black Organisation, Kaito Kid and something else, usually related to another major character.
I miss the times of the old movies (and cases), the times where Conan actually put the sleeping Kogoro to use, the times where they killed with fishing lines, the times were Conan wore his suit.
I don't say you can't enjoy this movie, but for me it was not as enjoyable as it could have been. Also stop putting Ran into forced danger for the sake of these "Oh no, Ran!"-moments, like hell we care if it's that badly executed. The first two movies pulled it of right, after that it mostly just got worse and worse.
I know this franchise prints money, but I hope they end it before it becomes so bad that I will stop watching, since I'm sticking with this little detective brat for sixteen years by now and would actually like to see the end of this someday.
