Well the plot of this anime is better than I thought it would be , but art is terrible, sound is O.K.

I think that all of us can agree that this time animation failed.

... Don't get me wrong , a lot of people said that art of this anime is terrible , but I didnt believe it , I thought that black clover's art is O.K , but episode 63 proved it wrong ...

In conclusion
If you like Naruto and shounen anime then this anime is for you.
I think that this anime is over hyped...

1. Story is fine, but I don't think it's the main thing, that make this anime good. It's simple and not hard to watch, but mind I have watched 150 ep., start of this anime was weak till 70 ep. I would guess.

2. Art was not that good in the first half, but now it's good and I can say I enjoying it

3. Sound/music is not very good, but it's on point, I guess. Still, I don't like it and it isn't anything epic. Openings are great I have to say tho, so if you like openings, these are one ... of the best, my personal opinion.

4. Characters are simple and that's the beauty of it. I don't like when anime over push complexity of characters exchange for progress in the story, or exchange for progress of the main character. So, I like these characters and they have so much space to develop.

Over all, I think this anime can be split into two halves, which one of them is average and second is very good, but I think, it's worth it get through first one, cause It's enjoyable in the second.

I started this Anime and dropped after episode 3, but then i continued again, because someone convinced me to continue....and i dropped again after i forced myself up to episode 15.

Even if this Anime has some good aspects and i normally try to see white, where some other people see black, i really think this Anime ist a awful waste of time.
Since it has more than 100 Episodes, this Anime has time, to show every little scene and every little detail and unfortunately it does not use this wisely and wastes its time by showing unimportant and boring scenes.
Therefore it isn't able to build up ... an excitement, most of the time.

This Anime ist just filled with an incredible high amount of spoilers, recaps, the opening and the ending, and everything the story tells, could be done better in every 25 episodes Anime.
It just seems like, they just producing an episode in one week with a small team and need to fill it with all these fillers and stuff, to reach their workload.

Also some of the characters aren't written that well.
For example the two main characters, who are brothers:
One is incredibly lucky and skilled and it isn't interesting, because he always gets everything he want, without doing really hard work and the other one is unbelievable annoying and is always shouting and screaming.
I totally understand the intention, the creaters had, when they made these characters, but there would have been way better ways, to portray these characters.

And all of this things are just some examples, there're much more things wich aren't pretty good.
Plus, there are some things i personally didn`t like, for example some parts of the art style or some CGI animations, but there are more based on personal taste and therefore not very objective.

At the end i can say, this Anime has potential, to be at least a pleasing one, but for me it is just a waste of time.
If the Anime would have been sorter than 100 episodes, i would try, even if it isnt that great, but so it is to much, to watch, just for the experience and there are way more better Anime out there, i could use my time for...

Review of Black Clover

I am a manga reader, and I got to say, this anime is a failure as a show and an adaptation.

Story: 6

The story of Black Clover is supposed to not be complex and generic at times. What makes the series good is it's fast pace and how insane it gets, with it basically being shonen on crack. Black Clover never slows down and basically runs through it's stories in a fun way. However, the anime is weekly and to fill it up time it adds annoying filler content, which makes the show harder to watch. This makes the story a slog ... to get through, since Black Clover isn't made to be a slow shonen.

Art: 6

The animation and art are terrible in the first 90 or so episodes, with few exceptions. The art and animation get better as time goes on, but before there was very few times the show looked good. Black Clover constantly has fights, so it wasn't made to be a weekly show in this age.

Sound: 10

The openings and endings are all bangers, and are better animated than the show. The ost is pretty decent too.

Character: 6

The anime fills up the screen time with filler interactions that overplay the character's cliches and makes them more annoying then fun. The filler interactions have no heart and just make them annoying. However, there a few good characters like Zora, Noelle, Finral, and a few more, but they're miles better in the manga.

Enjoyment: 5

The show is too slow and has terrible animation. It sucks as a manga reader to see great moments be ruined by bad art and pacing. I honestly understand the hate the series got in the community, since this show is honestly trash until episode 90.

The show is one of the worst anime adaptions I've seen in a while and I understand the hate it gets. However, the show is actually good after episode 90, but that's too late for most people to watch. I'd recommend reading the manga and looking up the best moments of the show, since some fights are actually really good in this show. Otherwise, don't waste your time watching the show and watch a better adapted shonen like Mha and Demon Slayer.

It's dissapointing.

5/10. If you want to watch it, fine. I'm a spiritual person, so I try to find "mystical" things in everything, that's why I give it a 5.

Animation is like, at first, in the first episodes, there were these badly animated scenes and I thought, oh ok, these are like whatever, and then later on comes the good stuff. Good stuff never comes. Animations feels like you are watching a fan made animation. I give it like a 3/10

Story is generic, but it's set in a mystical-fantasy world, so meh, it can be interesting I guess. ... Generic "hero" moments throughout the series; you can feel something when you are watching this series, only if you try really hard to get into the story and empathize with the characters, but the series itself doesn't help at all in making you feel anything.

So yeah, all in all that's what I feel about the series, there are some ok moments, but most of the scenes are dissapointing. What I made this account for, and what I wanted to say is THIS:

IF, you want to watch this series, please do not start watching it now. Let it finish, and then watch it because cliffhangers are everywere and they are not even worth the weekly wait to see what happens in the next episode, because nothing happens in the next episode, it's more "preparation" for the fight to come, so basically another cliffhanger, lol.

I've seen people say that being unoriginal doesn't make Black Clover bad. On an essay, you lose points for plagiarism. Why shouldn't Black Clover be criticized for its stolen elements. The thing I dislike most about Black Clover is that, to be honest, there's nothing you can get out of it that you can't get out of other, better shonen. Do you want good plot twists? Watch Attack on Titan. Do you want strategic fights and a good power system? Watch Hunter x Hunter. Do you want emotional themes? Watch Naruto. Do you want an all around enjoyable adventure? Watch One Piece. Let me talk ... about what I think is the worst part of Black Clover, the characters. It's generous of me to call them characters, when most of them are hollow cliches. Let's look at Asta. If you take Naruto, Luffy, and Gon, and remove everything that makes them different, you get Asta. There's nothing unique about him, and he's a hypocrite. He supposedly wants to prove that anyone can be great if they work hard enough, but if he wasn't lucky enough to get one of the most broken abilities in the series, he would be useless. All of the other Black Bulls are just empty stereotypes. Noelle is a tsundere, Charmy is a glutton, Luck is a fighting freak, etc. Noelle (and maybe Gauche, although that's a stretch) are the only two characters with any meaningful character development. Although, I can see why Yuki Tabata only sticks to stereotypical characters. When he tries to create an original character, he flops, hard. Yuno is the biggest example of this. He's supposed to be a fresh take on the "edgy rival", but this comes at the sacrifice of any potential character development he had. Overall, Black Clover is very mediocre, which is why I gave it a 5/5.

Let me start off by saying this anime had huge potential because the idea of the story is actually very good and the fight scenes are great but what makes it so bad is the execution of the plot and how they have to have lame comedy skits that fill up half the episode and take the seriousness away from the story, Secondly my biggest pet peeve is the scripting (The lines the characters say) are so tedious, cringy and overbearing that it makes me genuinely hate this anime, They try so hard to be funny when in fact it's anything but funny to a ... mature audience and in turn makes this unbearable to watch. The story and the fights are great but if they executed how they did things a little better this anime would be rated 8.0+ on MAL but sadly they lack depth in that area which is why I'm giving this anime a 6.

Conclusion/TLDR: It could've been a great anime if the execution and the scripting was better but since they fall short of it and fill the anime with over saturated comedy skits that get repetitive it makes it hard to watch

Well so this is based on the current state of the Anime as I write this review (EP 112):

It's a fighting shounen type of anime quite similar to the likes of One Piece, Fairy Tail or Naruto. More or less two main characters who receive gradual power ups while fighting stronger enemies.

The Art is kinda mediocre and defo not one of the series' strong points even if you want to give them credit for their own "style" it won't change the fact that it's just not good.

Sound is ok and almost always fitting so no complaining here.

The things which I want to talk about ... most are story/characters and format. First off the characters: Thanks to the long running format and similar to the aforementioned other anime even more minor characters get their own background story which makes them way more relatable and human and I strongly believe this generally to be a good thing since it adds more depth to the actual show compared to those characters being a glorified wallpaper as you can often see in other anime.

Story: The underlying story and the arcs are quite well narrated and interesting. The "bad" guys usually have some sort of at least to some degree understandable reasoning and it's not just plain black and white archetypes. However the story progression is quite slow which usually wouldn't be a huge point of critic but is a problem for this show due to other factors as elaborated below.

Finally the format: The thing which I hate the most on this show. Recap, Intro and the introductory narration about the wizard king are taking up to 4 or 5 minutes off each episode. Throw that together with the already kinda slow story telling and you don't really see any progress made on a story set up which otherwise could be very interesting and entertaining.

This kills the show a lot for me. It takes a lot out of the anticipation of the latest episode since you know that very likely not much is going to happen.
This is also the main reason as to why I give this show a 5/10.

Cut out the bullshit mandatory recap and narration and speed up the story progress a little bit and I'd instantly jump that rating to at least a 7/10.

Before I begin this review I am going to have a fair and balance review for this anime. because this anime is getting a lot of hate for ripping off another anime and shounen cliches and tropes I am just looking at this anime and not comparing it to anything else. I personally dont care if I enjoy it thats all that matters and this is the very first time that I feel that the amount of hate this anime is getting is not deserved so lets start the review. lets start with the story the story follows 2 main characters named Asta and Yuno ... they are both orphans abandoned at a church and Asta was born with out any magic and wants to be the wizard king and Yuno was born OP as hell it is your classic MC that gets bullied and is a outcast nothing new or original here its a 5/10 next is the characters the characters are ok but Asta voice is so annoying I know everybody says this its like beating a dead horse at this point all I am going to say is watch the English dub the voice is so much better next the only good characters in this anime are the black bulls other then that the characters are ok but all of the characters have there own personality and back story characters gets a 6/10 next is the art the art is not the best I seen but its not bad ether 6/10 last is my personally enjoyment it gets a 7/10 the final score is 6/10. Overall a very underrated anime in my opinion and I rarely every say that its not a good anime or a bad one ether but the reason why its underrated is because this anime is getting so much hate that it simply doesn't deserve at all I would just ignore most of the hate and give it a shot yourself. MAL scores dont mean anything I liked shows with a average of 6 on MAL and I hated shows that have a 8 on MAL so just try it out your yourself make your own opinion.

Black clover started off really poorly, bad animation, voice acting was atrocious, and above all it seemed like the most generic, typical, shonen ever.

Now most of that is still true, the animation isn't the best and the show is still a very typical shonen in both motivations, twists, characters, etc, however there is one underlying truth: Black Clover is good.

To start, the animation, which isn't nearly as good as shows coming out now-a-days can be somewhat justified and in certain scenes it GLOWS and makes it feel so much better. I mean, the OP's are a good point of that, of course they get more ... animation budget and time but they are so damn good.

Speaking of the OP's the music, the animation, and everything about them are debatably the best thing in this show. I mean, cmon, you don't get this amount of consistently GREAT op's from an anime EVER.

Characters can be typical like Asta or Yuno but also there are some damn interesting ones that mostly end up as side characters but also a fair few who are so loveable and really crucial to the story. Like Yami.

The story and magic system are actually really good imo. There's plot holes here and there and it may seem kinda too shonen-y? shoneny? but there's a really intriguing system and the different arcs are super interesting to the point where it justifies the sometimes filler-esque episodes.

Now, in stark contrast to everything else there are parts where I simply want to skip the story, mostly the non-important lead up to battles and plot points but its really boring at times I won't lie.

Black clover is no 10, but it's damn good.

Poor man's Naruto, but still a fun, easy watch. It follows the shounen tropes and structure of Naruto: a kid born different from everyone else in the world; wanting to the greatest in the world; underestimated by peers; overcomes battles through willpower; rivalry with a cool popular kid; everyone becomes his friend because of his tenacity and morals.

It doesn't achieve the same level of feels as Naruto, except for the odd moment at the end of a grand battle when the protagonist (Asta) pulls off the impossible. The series has the typical shounen arcs: battle arc; invasion arc etc.

Asta can be incredibly annoying and ... grating at first, but you grow used to him. The anime scores high on its goofiness. Some of the battles are incredibly epic and nicely animated. The anime is fun to watch and some of the arcs are engaging. Most episodes are topped by recaps and tailed by mini goofy asides, so expect only around 16 minutes of new content.

One piece but very rushed supporting characters and just oaky and nice to watch until you get tired while getting yelled at by some grey haired teen.

The show doesn't feel to me like those shonen we want like Boku no Hero and some clasics we have grow up eith in the earlier 2000s. It rushes alot and the jokes fall flat and feel like when somebody random says a joke about you and its funny but if a friend said it that would be hilarious. Its tough to connect tehy don't feel real and i have to leave relapsing into anime addiction bye.

A lot of fun, but for all the wrong reasons. Black Clover is guilty of pretty much every shounen cliche and sin in the book. The cheesily over-the-top "YOU CAN DO ANYTHING IF YOU BELIEVE AND HAVE FRIENDS!!!!!!!" message, the constant power escalation, being comprised almost entirely of filler, etc. All the attempts at serious or emotional beats just kinda ring hollow, and despite the show's best attempts it never manages to be genuinely compelling. At the end of the day the issue is simple, this show is just too dang long. 50 episode seasons are never a good sign for these types of shows, ... and Black Clover is no exception. Despite having absolutely no chill and the characters having very little amounts of downtime between major events the story moves at a complete drag. At nearly 100 episodes the main two rival boys are essentially no closer to their end goal than when they started. Of course there is some progress, they get stronger, Asta makes literally everyone he comes into contact with a better person with his protagonist powers, but it still feels like nothing has happened.
Thing is, I don't really mind a lot of the issues with it too much at the end of the day, it's over the top shounen-isms are part what makes it so entertaining.The main characters are likable enough to root for, it's fun enough to just kick back and have a good time watching it, like a good popcorn flick. The fights drag on way too long, but for the most part they're genuinely well animated and exciting to watch. The whole show is cheesy as heck, but I've always had a soft spot for entertainingly cheesy things. There's plenty of effective intentional comedy sprinkled in, and the generally lighthearted tone and antics make it a fun breeze to watch through. That said however, by the time you're nearly 100 episodes in you've pretty much got a handle on Black Clover's playbook. The antics and jokes are fun, but they do get old eventually, and once that half-ironic entertainment value runs out you're left with nothing of substance to keep you there.
If campy fun is up your alley I recommend it, just not the entire show.

i'm updated to this manga, is it bad nope, good nope, it is just really cliche and okay.The primary highlight of the manga was its art and impressive panels at times, but known for its lackluster dialogue and poor characterization. The problem with this anime straight up is the voice acting, Kajiwara, Gakuto idk if its the direction but his ability to great any depth cannot be conveyed you don't really feel like its a persons voice but voice actor doing its job. CGI, look if you wanted to see naruto at least do 2D this manga doesn't really have much besides its art if ... you butcher that then that's basically butchering this entire show. Art design actually pretty good, but what happened in the 1st minute that's like how not to introduce us to an anime legit piss poor.

When an Anime has the main protagonist, to have poor voice acting it's basically immediately failed. Shounen is not known for its story because it's formulaic and already predict whats gonna happen so we focus on the characters and the journey to make up for it. When your main character for a show that's supposed to really likable is annoying how is the audience suppose to have an immersive experience? The quick answer it does not, even Toei animation one of trashiest studios nowadays understands the importance of voice acting. Beside DBS most of the voices in Toei are most part decent or good like one piece all the voice acting is ranging to good to great and some inconsistent ones.

The good art it has is ruined by CGI, to be fair doing Asta's face is actually kinda hard because of how it's structured. But it has some great art design with the backgrounds but it so pushed aside because of the terrible nature this show has.

I say the best thing about this show I really love hating on it, basically the SAO effect so trash that you love to talk about. P.S i wouldn't usually review a show 1 episode in but, for me it was a disgrace.

I watch atleast the fist 6 episodes dubbed but really didn't change anything. I actually dig the manga, the positive their is that its pacing is amazing that what makes this generic stuff work, plus the art and storyboarding is well excuted well this anime the studio or shareholders did not see what actually appealed to people and do the complete oppsite. if this is seasonal it would be great as the manga at times is too fast pace, making solid 12-24 episodes seems like a smart idea, as the manga arcs r pretty quick so they can pace this well. truly wasted potential and at times has gorgeous animation but just like naruto its deep within crap.

The story itself is definitely a cliche and overused story like Naruto, Boku no Hero Academia, Fairy Tail and such. It is about a weak main protagonist who work hard and will never give up. Hence, he somehow gain power and became strong. I personally do not mind cliche and overused story line but it has to be executed nicely with at least some uniqueness in how the world in the story works or such. The world use magic which is actually similar to Fairy Tail but is somehow different since it uses grimoire. The character is one dimensional though ... there will be some development in the manga, still I am not attached to any of the characters.

I actually read the manga and thought that it wasn't that bad at all. However, even though the anime follows the manga closely, the feeling that I got from the manga is different from the anime. How? The execution of the anime is outright awful. The animation sometimes are hard to watch and the soundtracks used is dreadful and doesn't give the feeling that it should for the scenes. The supposedly sad scenes doesn't make me feel sad at all, since the time given for the sad scenes to truly seep into my heart are too short and the soundtrack doesn't really give any sad feelings. Scenes that are supposed to make me feel hyped was again destroyed by weird soundtrack. Either the soundtrack are too old like old RPG game soundtrack or I am not even sure what. I am also annoyed by the main character's voice and behaviour. Somehow I don't find the main character too annoying when I read the manga, maybe I imagined it differently but the anime is far too annoying for me. Overall, it really is a cliche, overused and mediocre story and animation that you can actually still enjoy, but it was greatly ruined by the sound.

Hyped as the next big thing in shounen anime by some, Black Clover is the story of Asta and Yuno, two boys who were abandoned at a church on the same day. As they grow up, the unlikely duo develop a heated rivalry and vow to best each other in their like-minded ambition to become the next Wizard King. Yuno, the clear favourite to emerge victorious, is reserved and highly competent, even having a rare and powerful Grimoire bestowed upon him when he turns 15. Asta, on the other hand, is loud and utterly inept at magic, but receives a similar blessing in the form ... of an even rarer "five-leaf clover" Grimoire. Set on their diverging paths to greatness, the adopted brothers must work their way up in the new world of magic that they find waiting for them outside of the church.

Aesthetically, Black Clover is decent, but certainly nothing ground-breaking. The artstyle fits the medieval European flair it seems to be going for well, and lends the series a grittier, more rustic feel compared to shows of a similar vein like Fairy Tail, which is much more upbeat and colourful.

Character designs feel a bit bland and unoriginal, lacking a much-needed quality to prevent themselves from appearing too "shounen-y." The leading duo of Asta and Yuno look way too similar to their counterparts in other shounen anime such as Naruto and Fairy Tail. Which is unfortunate, considering Black Clover should be doing as much as humanly possible to distinguish itself from the giants whose footprints it so stubbornly insists on following.

Excepting the fact that there haven't been that many fights of note so far, the animation has remained solid. For a show of this length (51 episodes), it will be interesting to see if the animation eventually falls apart by the time it reaches the finish line, or if it'll manage to surprise and keep a high level of quality all throughout.

To keep things simple, Black Clover does not have a good protagonist. Asta is an exact clone of the typical knuckle-headed, high-energy shounen hero, with the added baggage of being obnoxiously loud and persistent. He is in no way original or likeable, and neither is Yuno, who is a straight-up copy-and-paste of the introverted, yet incredibly gifted childhood rival archetype.

It is too early to make any sort of decision on the rest of the cast, but one thing that was painfully evident about the Black Bulls was that their introductions and characterization were blatantly similar to those of the Fairy Tail Guild in Fairy Tail. This is another aspect of the show that feels much too similar to the shounen giants that it should be competing with. For a shounen anime so late in the game, Black Clover really should be investing its energy in shaking up the formula shounen fans have grown so accustomed to, or at least making the ride a bit more fun and unique.

The story is, so far, nothing surprising for a shounen anime. Plenty of flashbacks, high-soaring ambitions, and snippets of action are present from beginning to end, yet the major weakness in terms of narrative is not managing to get the audience behind the characters' motivations. Asta is so annoying and Yuno so guarded that it is difficult to really find yourself cheering them on or feeling their pain. The new characters that are slowly piled on may present a solution to this, however, as they are coming across more likeable and diverse than the initial two, as would some meaningful character development for Asta.

Your own personal enjoyment of this show will come down to how willing you are to watch a standard shounen anime with not much to offer in terms of new ideas. Fans of the shows it so closely mimics, namely Naruto and Fairy Tail, may find themselves unable to take Black Clover seriously as its own separate experience, and inevitably make an unflattering comparison to the aforementioned titles.

Someone really pining for a more recent shounen anime may find the familiar story developments and archetypal characters comforting and satisfying in a way, but only if they are truly desperate for something so characteristically shounen. When the anime adaptation was first announced, a lot of people were calling it a "magic-themed Naruto" and after watching the first cour, I can confirm that this is a totally-justified claim. If that sounds like it would be right up your alley, then this show will likely be an enjoyable experience. If not, I would say it's probably going to be the complete opposite.

Taking into account the endless screaming on Asta's part, the overreliance on tired tropes, and a general failure to bring anything new to the table, Black Clover is not something easy to recommend this early in its run. That is, unless what you are looking for is a new shounen anime to watch after having seen all of the firmly-established titles.

If it manages to keep up its solid animation, develop Asta and Yuno in meaningful ways, and bank on the strengths of its genre's tropes, while also changing them up and doing more to distinguish itself from its predecessors, Black Clover may end up becoming a show worth watching, but if, and only if.

Summary: If there is such a thing that it's so bad, it's good. Then this is so generic that, that it's good.

Black Clover seems to check off everything that you would expect in a big-name shonen story: optimistic protagonist with big dreams, cool/edgy rival, several oblivious love-interests, over-powered villains that somehow gets defeated, and enemies becoming friends. However the execution of the stories is predictable for even someone new to anime. The quality in the characters can range from average to lacking.

So you maybe wondering, if it's so generic how can it be good?

The answer is simple. It's more enjoyable to binge through. ... And like most shows that still in the public eye, it has certain moments that are interesting enough or so laughable bad that you can't help but continue watching.

There’s not much to say about Black Clover. It’s like recurring elements of typical popular shonen series were just forced together. Highlights from the likes of Naruto, Fairy Tail, My Hero Academia, Blue Exorcist, Radiant, etc., were put into a blender and served. As if supernatural powers + main character with difficult circumstances + brooding rival + never giving up + saving friends were all it took to make an anime remarkable.

First of all, the plot. Asta is an orphan cannot use magic, but it is his dream to become the Wizard King, the strongest mage in the kingdom. Due to his powerlessness, he ... faces trials and challenges along the way. Basic enough.

Personally not a fan of the art style, but it’s enough to make fight scenes somewhat exciting. Same can be said about the sound: not bad, but not really noteworthy, either.

On to the characters/meat of discussion.
Try the main protagonist, Astra, born without magical abilities in a world where magic is everything. What’s more is that he grew up penniless in the outskirts, when nobility and class matters. He is belittled and discriminated. He trains to become physically strong, forces himself to do what he can and never give up. Hello, Naruto, Natsu, Midoriya, Rin, and the rest. Against all odds, he magically progresses through magic without having magic. Wow. As if that makes sense. He just stubbornly charges to fulfill his goal and tries to get better without doubts, without any change (other than skills). There is no growth in his character. Not to mention he acquires skills at a ridiculous pace.
Let’s go to another character, Yuna. This boy was found as a baby with Asta and is the power opposite. Initially a nice, timid crybaby; upon facing his powerlessness, he decides he also wants to claim the title of Wizard King, becoming Astra’s rival. Without transition, Yuna suddenly makes a 180-degree personality change, turning into a stuck-up genius and exceptional mage. Hello, Sasuke, Gray, Bakugo, Yukio, etc. He develops this cool and cold demeanor but secretly cheers for his rival, which is great, but it is like his presence is not necessary in the plot. It is as if he is just there because a strong rival is needed for the main character, as with most highly-rated would have.
The different magic types used were interesting and the other individuals in the series honestly had potential. Most had their own dark, unique, and significant backstories, which is usually a plus. Then again, without proper execution, the effort is wasted. Their quirky personalities were overused. Characters have the same intelligible conversations, illogically repeating the same phrases over and over again, just for entertainment value. These individualistic exchanges can be fun to a certain extent, but here, they were oversaturated. Predictable dialogues waste so much time and could have been used to develop the characters (none of them did in depth or personality) and in propelling the plot forward instead.

Though the somewhat amusement from the anime cannot fully be denied, Black Clover was bland overall. It could have been fine to have similar components to other series. However, when the writing lacks coherence and the storyline lacks cohesion, the show fails to stand on its own and becomes a rip off of any other great shonen.

At episode 52. I think I have seen enough episodes to understand how and where the story is going.

Its essentially a magic action anime, but pathetically fails to deliver. The lead character is not winey but annoying, always shouting for no apparent reason. The first 2 episodes look promising like showing some demon or something but its almost as if its forgotten in further episodes and its a very steep downhill after it. It draws very obvious references (not mentioned in the anime) to Naruto. There are the lead's mentors and just like Naruto there is a gang (like Akatusuki) and pretty much its the ... same. The art, execution and characters could have been a lot better. Overall its a 6 for me.

I have read a lot of reviews before deciding to watch Black Clover. Though most review are negative but I think I will give it a shot anyway since I have some time to spare. I started the show with the open mind, and somehow want to prove that all the claim about copying Naruto might be just an exaggerated claim from the narrow minded fans.
The first 5 episodes were ok for me, it wasn't funny at all, the characters were annoying yet I still gave the excuse of "not copy but just the inspiration"
Then the stories goes on an on to the ... point that I put it on hold from the boredom. Did I mentioned that I finished Shokugeki no Souma before I started this show? They were not comparable. SNS was so much fun so much entertaining compared to Black Clover.
Anyway, after I finished other shows (incld Attack on Titan), I picked up the story again and tried to get through with it. The more I watched the show, I more I dislike the characters especially the Black bull squad.
I don't think the guy with sister complex is funny. I don't think the girl who has big appetite all the time is funny. NOT FUNNY OKAY???? Can you do it better than this?
I don't see just Naruto on this show, but I see Attack on Titan, Bleach, FullMetal Alchemist, so and so on ON THIS SHOW!!! To the point that I'm convinced that is this a parody of all the shows? BUT it's not funny!!!
I don't know whose to blame? Is it a creator who is not smart enough in creating an impressive story?
Is it a sound director who done a really bad job at the bad time?
Is it a director who managed the wrong pace? Bad story pace, bad funny moment? Whose idea of repeating the fail funny moment?

Anyway, the story is getting better on Episode 15 and I decide to give the below scores:
