These two anime are about an academy with a festival/event to determine who the strongest is. The main heroine is a fire wielder and is also of royalty.

Has similar, if not the same, feeling like Asterisk - a generic dude with a goofy LE ANIMU weapon and "special ability" is surrounded by girls with one-line personality, mostly serving as cocktease for MC. It's also set in highschool, because of course it is.

The two anime could basically be interchanged for one another, they really are That similar lol. Both stories have highschool students who fight using a magical weapon that syncs with them, in Hundred's case they're used to battle monsters, where in GakuToshi they're used to battle each other in competitions called Festas. The main protagonist of both series is a dark haired guy in a harem situation with various girls, and both have the classic subtypes of girl in one shape or form; - the pink haired girl with all-around good qualities who can almost be seen as the female protagonist - the blond girl who seems older/more mature  read more

Main characters are both powerful and have limiters. Magic related items Both high school themed

Both represent literally every A1 Pictures light novel adaptation cliché. In fact, TAW feels like what SAO would be if SAO took place at a school instead of in a video game world.

-both anime have characters fighting each other in a "festival" to compete in strength and skills -both anime have schools with a ranking system -in both animes the protagonist enters the school due to his sister, who visited it earlier -they have similar genres -female main character wants to be the strongest to reach her own goal/wish -female main character doesn't let people close therefore they call her cold

Gakusen Toshi Asterisk is very similar to IS: infinite Stratos. This is why: 1. Both GTA and IS is in the future, sci-fi setting. 2. Both series is harem, comedy and action themes. 3. Story approach resembles a lot. Even the charachters. 4. MC are both strong and also just started on a new "combat-school". If you are looking for animes with action/comedy/harem/romance, then this is it. They both will give you a good time of comedy combined with ecchi here and there.

When you search for a funny magic echi Anime. Read this recommendation. Similatries: - overpowered main protagonist - the power of the the protagonist is increasing throughout the series - magic related powers /weapons - both take place at a Magic high school - both worlds are filled with Magic/ Magic items

Much better than other recommendations! My favorite anime is Zero no Tsukaima and I watched handfull of most recommended but didn't like those. However Gakusen Toshi Asterisk is really the answer if you search for sth like Zero no Tsukaima

A purple-haired protagonist with lots of combat potential transfers into a prestigious combat university. The schools from both anime are structured the same and the fights that take place there between students are very similar also. They each have an ecchi element to them while being a mix between action and slice of life.

Both are harems Both have tons of fan service Great story on both both have to unlock a power at some point to be seriously op Both are looking for someone that is related but missing Both are on crunchy roll so win win.

Both feature people with superpowers (Genestella for Asterisk and Quirks for MHA) and high school setting (all schools of Asterisk and UA High) with awesome action scenes complete with funny moments. Both English dubs are super awesome. However, Asterisk is more fanservice-y than MHA. Aniplex of America distributes Asterisk while Funimation distributes My Hero Academia.

Both feature mysteriously special MCs who fight alongside a strong female partner. I find that they have similar vibes but Gakusen Toshi Asterisk features a less balanced cast, fitting more into the harem genre. The hook for both shows is to find out more about the MC and discover what makes them so special.

Its exactly the same. he is the warrior type out for avenging his sister. he got her embarrased as soon as he arrived. she wants so roast him aka friendship. competition in pairs. her elite seat is 5th rank, same. some brute on 10th seat picks a 4rd figth with her, he lost the others, exactly the same. Did they just take the plot and used it on more mature characters?

Really similar when you're looking for the character environment field, fitting with the MC and, of course, the other heroines, being a great tool for the plot development. The heroines are really similar. The issues that I have are related to the animation itself that "The Asterisk War" is away smoother and nicer when you're talking about that matter and (not an issue, but a different feeling) Taimadou is darker and a more realistic circumstance that Gakusen has.

You might like this if you are looking for where a protagonist is on a journey to find their lost sibling. Both Iroha and Ayato went above and beyond in order to find their sister who had mysteriously disappeared

Both protagonists share a similar plot of joining an organisation/party to find their lost sibling = lost sisters

Both are set in Magic High Schools. MCs are both overpowered sword wielders. MCs are both surrounded by a harem. Both MCs have hidden back stories that are slowly revealed. Main heroine starts off more tsun than dere

Both are set in a futuristic world where ability users fight regularly and are ranked.

The succubus type thing is definitely a similarity. Both have a similar feel as well. To love ru is slightly deeper in a way with a better story and background but both are entertaining in a similar way.

Both anime feature an overpowered main character and a red/pink haired girl who uses fire attacks. Similar theme with battle magical highschool, main character has an Harem and the general feel is very similar.

Reikenzan shares a lot of the same vibes as The Asterisk War. The main character is OP and things tend to work in his favor. A huge plot point is him training to be stronger. It also does well balancing lightheartedness with action, adventure, and comedy.

Both feature a bland, rather generic MC surrounded by a harem of girls who are mainly defined by their hair color. Both feel like MUCH blander versions of more popular shows (NGE for HnM, SAO and Infinite Stratos for TAW), and both are prime "so bad it's good" series if you want to watch them.

The stories themselves are hardly similar, but there is an emotional atmosphere in each world's creation through how the characters live and react to situations. Rahxephon is also a "character-driven" story which I highly recommend if you enjoy a female cast that has more depth than just being a potential love interest to the main character.

-Both take place in Magic Academy. -Both MCs are looked weak, but actually really strong. -Both MCs are surrounded by girls. (The funny thing is the girls line up is almost similar: -a bit SPOILER here- A princess (Rumia & Julis), A Deadpan Kuudere (Re=L & Saya) and the tsundere one (Sistine & Julis (again... sorry)). -Both MCs have a tragic past. -In my opinion, RokuAka has the better story, while Asterisk Wars has the better soundtracks.

Both Have Magic High School Setting Similar Main Character ^ He Gets All The Girls ^ Turns Out To Be Really Powerful

Besides Infinite Stratos, id say Gakusen Toshi Asterisk is the second most similar to this series. especially in terms of characters: -Both MCs are the laid back type, Transfer student with a Hidden and mysterious past. They also are really powerful with hidden abilities. -Both Main Heroines are the classic Stubborn Tsundere, princess who hates the MC at first for seeing them Naked or half Naked then challenges them to a fight. Then after the fight starts to immediately gain feeling for them. They both are also kinda lacking in the chest area too. (This is all ep 1 so it isnt even spoilers). -Both MCs  read more
