PoT and KnB can be considered somehow similar: - both are shonen series of sports genre (despite PoT deals with tennis, while KnB deals with basketball) - both are about good friendships and the importance of the teamwork in order to win - among all the sports series, both of those are between the most commercial ones and very likeable stories. - the characters in both of them have "special techniques/powers" who make everything even more interesting - still, both are quite addicting, have a gorgeous art style and a very skilled cast of seiyuus. Despite being about two different sports as you'll have a chance to see, they have some  read more

Royoma in prince of tennis is a prodigy and practiced his whole life. He is smart and know's allot. Eiichirou has only done it for a year but has the skills to just like him. Just as goo as Royoma. The series is about both tennis prodigy's who shows them all wrong and practice to be stronger. Watch them both^^. The series is different with what kind of anime it is but there are both good to watch.

Enjoy watching people play sports and have them use "powers" to help them win their matches? Eyeshield 21 and Prince of Tennis each contain their share of "strive to become the best player". They're also not very realistic, in that many characters achieve extremely difficult/amazing skills. Whether you like or don't like either sport, you'll still enjoy the "become the best" parts in both.

-Echizen and Hinata are both experience player -both are freshmen -both are short -both gain new friends and teammates When watch, the two anime reminded me of each other

I know its a weird recommendation really. BUT- they are both similar in their protagonist going through an elite environment to progress in their fields (obviously different fields). Super motivating competitiveness.

While the skills of the main characters are on opposite ends (one being pro quality and the other a beginner), both series follow the road to the top. Both series give great history on the designated sport so if you're unfamiliar with it, things will be explained throughout each episodes. Comedy is also thrown in every once in a while. Don't like sports? Don't worry, you don't have to!

Both animes are centered around sports. The main character is male. Both become stronger throughout the anime.

The characters all have similar personalities to each other. There's a sadist, an energetic guy, a conceited guy, a wimp, and more.

Both animes are extremely over-exaggerated and unrealistic with their techniques, but you know what... who cares!!! They are extremely fun, enjoyable, and very easy to get into. It feels like you're watching Dragonball Z and Sports coming together as one.

Both anime have a intense rush of excitement and suspense revolving around sports.

Ryoma (PoT) and Takumi (Initial D) are pretty much the same person. One plays tennis and one is a street racer, but they're both aloof prodigies that pull out new miracle techniques whenever they need to, who were privately groomed by their "retired" fathers. ;) So even though the sport, setting and animation styles differ dramatically, if you liked the basis of the story or the main character in one, you'd probably like th other.

Both title's are sport related ... while Dan Doh is about golf, Prince of Tennis well you guess ;) In both animes the main characters are gifted in that sport that they play, and they geting better and better, we can say they are prodigy's. Other than that they use various super powers while thay play, and also calling their attacks like "bullet dragon" and "cyclone smash" etc ... But as they play in tournament's they make friends and rivals, who helps them later on.

both of these animes have sports in them but princess nine is like the more feminine style. they both have two extraordinary players who are comitted to their playing. one plays tennis while the other baseball.princess nine has a little bit more romance in it. you would have to like sports, school life, action and a little bit of romance to enjoy both these animes.

Oofuri is a sports Anime... It's about Baseball.. While Prince ot Tennis, like the name tells us all, is about Tennis. And as real Prince of Tennis fan I can say that the sense of humor (and especially the gay moments..) in both series are very similiar, sometimes even the same. Ookiku Furikabutte offers lots and lots of awesome characters who develope their personalities over the series and who you learn to love and hate, and so does the Prince of Tennis. In any case, it's both worth watching it!

Both are "sport" anime with a little bit of supernatural elements in them. The "sport" is one that is a team effort as a whole but the matches are fought individually (or in pairs in POT) They both have rich rival schools that they end up befriending. The protagonists have family members that are well known in the "sport" world but the relationship is hidden from other people.

Both are series about middle school kids playing tennis and aiming for the Nationals. Prince of Tennis is about boys' tennis, while Softenni is about girls' soft tennis.

Well, the aura of competition and the amazing abilities of the main character seem to be the same. The progression in revealing the character and skills of the main character seems to be the same, as well. The main differences are that One Outs is much more adult in content and tone, and we're dealing with more of a team sport since it's about baseball rather than tennis. The characters in One Outs are much more adult-looking as well, but I believe some people (OK, I mean women especially) can definitely find something to feast their eyes on! In addition there's  read more

Sports related. Life and pasts of the main characters, hardships of others teams. Basically the same thing but with different sports. Slam Dunk is a little more violent though.

both try to achieve their dream to become a professional soccer/tennis player and try to lead their team to win the national. also both have to overcome their difficult pf facing many different teams. both player are very talented and have many potential to become stronger....

Both are top notch tennis anime. Price of tennis is more drawn out and places a focus on many players whereas Baby Steps is more concise and focuses solely on the protagonist. Baby steps have regular humans playing tennis unlike in prince of tennis where the players are all gods who can jump 20 feet high, a la kuroko no basket. This may be a determining factor for many. On the whole both are must watch sports anime.

It's a group of high-schoolers who compete to win at tennis. This is for those who want to enjoy hardcore tennis and don't mind a few hundreds of episodes. It's the most popular tennis anime it has ever existed. If you haven't watched it, try it.

Are you a sports anime lover? Either yes or no, you are going to like both of those anime series! Why? Because you are going to fall in love with the characters of the series. Their appearance, their personalities, their relations with each other. You are certainly going to like the whole team, with it's diaries, the persistence of each member, and how they surprise you in the middle of the match, especially the ace! Both Sawamura Ejun - kun and Echizen Ryoma - kun will do surprise you, although their personalities are different. Also, both Sawamura - kun and Echizen - kun are players  read more

Both are sports and have a younger member trying to reach the top. Also the lead is very talented and determined; people just seem to be so amazed. The music sounds similar, sometimes the animation seems similar. Only difference is that Fly High is a little less dramatic and shorter.

its based on a sport and just like kuroko no basket the games are easy to understand but keep you on the edge of your seat, also it wouldn't be anime without awesome new tennis moves.

They share the same genre: Sports, and shounen. One series involves Tennis while the other involves Cyvling Prince of Tennis main character Ryouma was born to play Tennis and we see him challenge the best players around the world. He joins Seigaku tennis team and we see them arise to the occasion. Awesome tennis matches and characters too. In Yowamushi Pedal: Sakamichi excels at cycling and has found friends who share his dreams. We see him and his friends get better with each challenge. The only thing that similar is that in both series there is a character who thinks he knows the  read more

The character stereotypes are the same, and even the designs are similar. Otherwise, they are shows with a great amount of good looking guys engaging in school activities.

They're both sporty anime, about the main character getting stronger physically and mentally as the story progresses. Of course, the main characters happen to become friends with amazing people who help them in their process of getting better in their sport. Both have good humor.

dear boys similar to prince of tennis, b/c they are both based on sports, and they have the same competitive work hard spirit. in dear boys the sport is basketball, but like in prince of tennis it has the character building in the premise of the story. if you like prince of tennis you will like dear boys.

Both have different sports that are placed in a new light.

Although quite different in nature, active sports against strategic table game, but the anime is very similar in intensity, and its ability to capture one's interest. It starts out differently, a boy beginning from scratch in playing Go, with direction and support of divine nature. But as the story goes on, the character is discovering his own talents trying both to beat his main opponent, his teacher, and discover his own strengths. Very similar to the Prince of Tennis in a way the games are set up. Matches remind us of duels and the opponents striving for their win, coming up with their techniques, new moves  read more
