Synopsis

Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V centers around Yuya Sakaki, as he tries to escape from harsh reality by smiling. But one Duel leads him to make a determination to confront the difficulties and he will get the power of infinite possibilities. The show's main theme is "Take a step forward with courage!!"

Yuya is a student at a preparatory school, learning to become an "entertainment Duelist," a type of professional Duelist.

The story is set in Miami City on the coast of Japan. Leo Corporation is run by its president Reiji Akaba. Thanks to the spread of the company's "Solid Vision with mass," "Action Duels" are born in Miami City and has reached worldwide popularity. Children look up to star-level Pro Duelists, and they learn Summoning and Duel styles at various large and small cram schools, including the You Show Duel School that Yuya attends and the largest of such schools, Leo Duel School (LDS).

My last review of the anime was a fairly impressed 8/10, back when 47 episodes had been released. After 40 more episodes have been released though, I have to sadly admit that I was wrong and I had misjudged it.

To say that Arc V skyrocketed the game's sales after the failure of Zexal would be an understatement. While every yugioh series until now focused on its own mechanic (rituals for original, fusions for gx, synchros for 5ds and exceeds for zexal), Arc V adds its own mechanic, Pendulums, but pays equal attention to ALL the others as well. Quite honestly I never imagined a day read more

(This will be my first so bear with me. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))

Story: 8
The series start really slow at first, it made me wan't to drop the anime for the first 6 episodes, but as the series goes deeper, the pacing gets better. The story is pretty unique for the Yu-Gi-Oh! shows as Yuya wants to entertain people by dueling, just like how was his father. It also showed all of the real life summons (Fusion, XYZ, and Synchro) which was really cool, because the other shows just focused on one (because then, every deck in the show would be focused to do the featured read more

I was about to drop the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series with Zexal. Seriously.
But Arc-V brought me back.
As a real life YGO player and an anime fan, I can say that this series satisfied me.

Story 7/10: The story is about a young boy named Yuya Sakaki trying to become as great as his father once was. It's pretty standard for a plot, but the way they developed it while including the three main card mechanic (Fusion/Synchro/XYZ) along with the new Pendulum Summon was good. It starts a bit slow and might not avoid confusion sometimes (even though it might just be intended).

Art 8/10: The animation read more

Great new Yu-Gi-Oh series, shows vast amount of promise with the foreshadowing and character development, almost as good as Yu-Gi-Oh Mugen (The best Yu-Gi-Oh ever).

Story - 8
Story unfold slowly, but since this is a review there is going to be spoilers, the beginning may make this seem like light-hearted, but in reality it is pretty dark with the true plot being an inter dimensional war. Foreshadowing are made in every new episode keeping things intriguing (also providing a lot of re-watch value), the pacing have no major flaw as of now. So far the plot is pretty well written and it actually make use of read more
