The action duels are utterly ridiculuos, maybe the worst idea in the series. Deciding duels by randomly running around for cards is a disgrace for the whole series. Furthermore, this shows how bad the duels itself are written, because this "randomness" (which somehow almost alwys favoured Yuya) was a deciding factor in a lot of duels.

These are some serious issues, but there were a lot of redeeming points: the characters were not bad, Reiji was a great Seto Kaiba duplicate, maybe the best since the original, I also liked the Professor, and the 4 Yuyas and Yuzus as well. Getting back some of the old characters of the series was also nice.

Story is something yyou could expect from a children's card game anime, no more no less.

So in the end still better than Zexal, and at least on par with GX and 5ds (excluding the Dimension World and Dark Signers arcs which were great).
