Synopsis

In the near future, the sports world is dominated by Neo Wrestling, a new spectacle in which Metal Fighters challenge each other to be named champion.

The story follows the girls of the Pretty Four; Miku, Ginko, Sayaka, and Nana, as they face off against the current champions, Team Sapphire. With a burnt out drunk named Eiichi Suo for a coach the girls must not only contend with problems in the arena but also unforseen circumstances that arise in day to day life. Only through protecting their friends, understanding their enemies, and eventually challenging their idol Aquamarine, can Miku and the girls understand Eiichi's purpose and the shady secrets behind Neo Wrestling.

What do you get if you take elements from "Pro Wrestling, Power Rangers and Angelic Layer", mix them in a blender and crank it up to high? Well aside from having a broken blender on your hands, the combination would most likely make "Metal Fighter Miku".

Story: 7/10
Taking place in the near future, wrestling is not what it use to be. Gone are the days where two opponents would get in the ring, and fight each other hand to hand until the other was pinned. In this era fighters have now dawned metal suits, which strengthens their moves ten times over, thus calling it "Neo Wrestling!" ...

This anime was truly amazing when I watched it as a child. The beginning and ending songs were catchy, the characters were likable, etc. If you like animes that have the girl character that grows into some type of role, then you'll love this one.

It kind of reminds me of Sailor Moon, how Usagi was ridiculously clumsy and stuff for awhile but then she grew into her role. It's also similar in that respect to Kaleido Star. Sora wasn't the best until she worked at it. So is Miku :) I definitely recommend it to any who are looking for that type of anime :)

Similar to the "Cutey Honey" M.O. ...a group a cute girls (adorned in spandex-armor) transform and then fight against a group of masculine women. It's difficult to categorize this bizarre, amalgam of retro anime tropes with clear precision. Metal Fighter Miku could have been something, but by incorporating so many tired clichés, it ended up being a series scarcely thought about in the community. Even in the realm of Japanese forums, I was couldn't find many mentions of the show and it was hard to scrounge up any official art for the series, despite Akiyuki Shinbō's name being attached to it!
