Voice actor Yuu Shimaka died on July 28 due to a heart attack. He was 70 years old. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday and Thursday.

Shimaka was born in May 1949 in Nagano. Affiliated with the Production A-Gumi talent agency, some of his voice roles include Koshinuma and Reijirou Asou from City Hunter, Roujyu from Samurai Champloo, Mikhail Kaminsky from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, and Ryouga Senba from Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch. Another legendary VA bites the dust. The newer generation is going to have a hard time filling all these shoes.

Oh man, I'm currently watching Gokudou-kun Manyuuki and I've found his voice as Jinn quite memorable since the very first episode.
