Seiyuu Nobuo Tanaka Dies

Reports revealed on Saturday that seiyuu Nobuo Tanaka died in the morning of Wednesday, October 17 from esophageal cancer. He was 83 years old. The funeral will be held among family and close friends.

Fumi Hirano, who voiced in Anime Sanjuushi together with Tanaka, announced the news to the media.

Tanaka had been active since 1958. He voiced Thomson in Tetsuwan Atom, Shintarou Chiaki in the Detective Conan and Magic Kaito series, Soueki Senno in Hyouge Mono, Dio Brando in the original JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken, and more. He was also a narrator in the Lupin III series in the 1970s, in the variety series TV Champion, and more. He received a special award at the 4th Seiyuu Awards in 2010.

I only heard him in the JoJo OVAs, and even if I wasn't a fan of them, it's still sad he died. Rest in Peace.
