Nice to see Haikyuu's on top. Keep it up

Jul 22, 2016 12:28 AM by catrionacollins

Next week, Haifuri will sell their 2nd volume, I hope it will make their sales better, and get back to the top-2 of spring anime list, or maybe get the 1st place.

Jul 21, 2016 5:50 PM by blueflash97

hmmm... no 10k sales for this week. ReZero doing good which is nice.

Wake me up when september ends... Aqours 1st BD will be out. Quite interested to see how far they can go :)

Well, with how they handle Delta, surpassing what Frontier managed to achieves years ago seems like a fairytale. I've even seen some Macross fans hating Delta and refused to acknowledge it as a part of the franchise.
While I don't go as far as hating it, rating it more than 6/10 seems like a hard decision to be taken. However as a part of the fanbase since Superdimensional, I do hope it'll sells well (atleast above 20k). I'll still consider buying those BDs if some good change happened.

Glad Re:Zero is selling well. That could end up my favorite anime of the entire year, so if it has success I'm glad for it.

Would be suprised if it sells more than 5K There is a reason most anime produced is highschool moe kawaii loli schoolgirls and prepubescent androgynous sheltered middle school boys doing slice of life ecchi shounen harem romcom things in an alternate reality video game highschool battle tournament in highschool.

Because for whatever reason that shit sells.

I don't think you have any clue on what you are talking about. That ''shit'' don't automatically sell. It just has a more reliable buyer base than historical anime for example.

Taking ecchi/harem highschool anime for example. In the entire year only the minority of these titles sold average or above average in disc sales. They are made, because they easy to, and rely on merchandise sales to break even. Same goes for ''moe'' anime. There is only very few hits or successful anime, like K-ON or most recently that usagi anime. There are many clones that straight up bomb on sales. Ecchi anime and maybe ''moe'' anime, if I'm not mistaken are not as saturated now. They are less than before, because the trend is not as it's peak, and is declining.

Most common trend in recent years are LN adaptations. And those also don't do good on average. They also depend more on a boost to the light novels themselves.

There is really no guaranteed formula for success or to be a hit. An anime will have to have more than a couple of popular elements to have it's ''shit'' sell, and. Who thought a remake of an old gag anime would be a mega hit? nobody. So really dismissing what type of anime bomb and what sells is really ignorant and shallow. Many unique anime have become successful and vice versa.

Sadly very true, can only keep hoping that things change for the better because I'm sick of those type of cookie cutter bullshit anime.

91 Days feels fresh, if it doesn't pay off it would be a real shame.

Actually LoveLive Sunshine's presales while above 10K for sure, above 30K and still rising will be a big hit for sure they are not actually that great for LoveLive as a franchise. It looks like a big drop right now from season 2. I know it's only 3 episodes in but if you watched the sales of things like the FinalLoveLive concert disc and the Muse Live clips disc you'd see what LoveLive's sales normally look like. The existing fanbase still hasn't decided that Sunshine/Aqours is good enough to support. They continue to support Muse even though they're effectively done aside from some best of and solo memorial CD boxes.

Thank you for informing~

I think that LL!SUNSHINE will do 10-20k at least, unless it's really terrible

we'll just have to see if Aquors has muse's staying power then? To compare, how did LL! S1 did at this stage?

If I remember right muse had an existing fanbase from CDs/MVs/LNs which was slowly build over 2 years before anime hit

in here it's little unfair to Aquors since they have to immediately follow up on sensation like muse
It will outsell LoveLive S1 surely, at least 35-40K but still a steep drop. It is a bit unfair, expecting them to be loved and supported by the fans so soon, fans which may feel that Aqours pushed Muse out. Some have said it may have been too soon to have anime for Sunshine but Bandai felt otherwise, must have felt that having a long dead zone with no anime and no updates for the mobile game would have hurt the franchise.

Oh sorry I actually meant pre-order/prediction numbers.

Your prediction number is very, very outdated, it's like almost 2 months ago before most spring show released.
