According to Toei Animation producer ‏Bogdan Gyarmath's tweet, Dragon Ball Z Movie 14: Kami to Kami (Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods), airing on TV March 22nd, will contain an extra 20 minutes worth of additional footage. According to Akira Toriyama's interview earlier, it was suppose to be longer but was cut short for the premiere in movie theaters.

The movie "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" will run 85 minutes. The special edition will air at 9 p.m. on the 22nd: 105 minutes. We've added 20 minutes of footage. Extra footage will show the relationship between Whiz and Beeruz, gag-action with the Pilaf Gang, and is also full of characters who didn't play (much of) a role, such as Oolong and Mr. Satan.

I feel people were cheated when buying the other home release. I just hope FUNimation both dubs and subs the director's cut soon.

I will watch all Dragon Ball Anime someday. Dragon Ball was my shit when I was a kid and it was awesome!!!!

Best not to wait, nothing more worthwhile than it in all of anime. Start from Dragon Ball though before heading off to DBZ. Most of the movies are not strictly necessary, although the 2 specials, Bardock and History of Trunks, are cannon and essential.

Glad I didn't waste my time watching the BD version. Now if only they used the original Cha La Head Cha La in the TV version, and not that flow crap.

....The song is used in the credits... what's it matter?

I still haven't seen this movie yet. Hopefully they dub the additional footage as well when it's released here in America.

Does this mean they aired an incomplete movie in cinema? Because it certainly felt disjointed when I saw the normal version.

The original script was for a 2 hour movie so what was released in theatres was a much shortened version but I don't think it was incomplete at the time because the actor who voices Pilaf only recently did some new lines for this additional footage.

Will re-watch with additional footage

Well, I wasn't best keen on the first version of this film (very pretty, amusing but not much else) so maybe I'd be better off watching this version too?

I'm also wondering if the MAL Entry is going to be changed or if a new one will be added. 20 minutes is kind of a big change.
