They explained the whole how and why thing better than they did in the first series and they condensed it which was good. There were some things I didn't like though, they should have shown more of the exam and the conversation with Mustang awarding him the state alchemist chain was better in FMA1, in my opinion. And we disn't really see much of the mom, which is disappoionting. Modified by Meh_93, 04-12-09, 2:39 PM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

For some reason this show is living up to my expectation but it's still pretty good. I think they rushed many parts like trysha death and Mustang's visit. Hmmm I've rarely seen a BONES anime with such a clear, detailled and well-structureed plot, no doubt that it's far better than the first FMA, on top of the direction obviously (Irie was great in KURAU Phantom Memory, and he's proving that he's better than Mizushima for this second FMA). Excellent episode that seems as the legitimate introduction, but the production values are not that impressive overall. |

The story was intentionally rushed. However, I don't mind at all just as long as the gist is there. I know that there were some scenes removed. Overall, I enjoyed the episode. Everything was "there" and they didn't miss out the important parts. It's also great to see that they managed to fit in the brothers' introduction into one episode perfectly. I would be honored to see them here in my own house whereas I'm located on a third world country. |

I liked it, the flashback arc was by far, my least favorite part of the first FMA, seeing how they quickly ran through it this time made me happy. And it also felt quite more emotional too Only issue i had was the speed in which they killed Trisha off. Next episode is Lior, and time for the story to kick off. |

Very nice episode. It felt a little bit rushed at some parts but it wasn't really that bad. Rikuna said: All of you who downloaded this - downloaded a licensed anime. Prepare for the FBI to come to your house. I streamed it, but still *snortgiggle* at this. =P |

Once again, rushed, but not as rushed as ep 1. IMO rushing is just as bad as going too slow (KHR), and is definitely a fatal flaw so far. Average episode at best. FMA is overated. Both the original and this. |

I hate what how they ran through scenes with Trishia (now she's almost like a tree in background... she only once praised brothers... she was killed in seconds after apperance xD). I hate how they skipped State Alchemist's test... ,,attacking" Fuhrer was not actual test! Winry's parrents died without her crying or even hearing about it from anyone, weird isn't it? Still I enyoyed this episode, maybe I just love FMA series. |

There was SO much going on this episode that went differently. And all of it was great to see, from the loss of the Elrics' mother, Roy's appearance, the Alchemy Exam. Simply amazing. Modified by DeadBonesBrook, 04-12-09, 11:01 PM |

I didn't really like how they compacted around 5 episodes of the old series into one. It was supposed to be epic journey to become a State Alchemist, meeting new people/friends and losing a couple. It had a lot of depth in it and really connected the viewer to the characters. It was supposed to leave such a deep impression that you'll never forget. Also they made MUM so insignificant. She was in ONE bloody scene with ONE line and the next scene she's dead. Losing so much back story just didn't feel right, but it probably won't bother people who didn't watch the old one. its fresh, its new and its FOLLOWING the manga... i'm rooting for the new FMA: Brotherhood and i don't give a rats ass on what yu bastards think.. I LOVE IT! so what if they're rushing it? yu all wanna see the whole commotion all over again? screw that... everything they're doing right now is better than what i expected.. having Yui and SID for theme songs, couldn't get ne better.. and they included everything that happened in the manga (except the first episode, don't really remember that o,0) haha, i love the voice (or should i say voices?) they did for "the truth" .. hey? is it just me, or is it much more dramatic than the first series?? teehee, looking forward to the characters in the manga that they're gonna introduce.. which the first one failed to do... -.-" 5/5 |

I never really enjoyed this part in the series so it was just average to me. The only thing that bothered me is that Trisha only appeared in one scene. For some reason seeing her filled me with joy and then she was gone ;___; Modified by Monochrome, 04-14-09, 9:24 PM |

I'm liking this a lot at present actually. It's sticking to the manga albeit rushing a little, but its still sticking to the manga. I do like how they've linked in the first episode as an even happening before the Lior events, and how they are basically starting the series from scratch(bar obviously the flashback events). I kinda like how Rosa looks now, i get the feeling its closer to how she should look in the manga. Its been a while since i read the early chapters of the manga, but is the training a flashback later on? Cause i was hoping they would show that as it explains a fair bit. |

Those scalawags have naught to do with the matter. Those scurvy dogs at Funimation will likely send take down notices to streaming sites and there may be a slim chance they go after a subbing group. But me fellows who downloaded this video have not the slightest thing to worry about.</IANAL></pirate> |

I didn't really have much interest in the first version(was a while ago for that matter). But this series has kept me entertained so far, I hope it keeps up the pace. |
