Time for a re-vamp! or i guess you could say, just a new boringly long "about me" description which i expect 95% of all people visiting this profile will ignore, but hey!
Second Year Mathematics Student up here in Bonnie Scotland. Now i know EXACTLY what you're thinking. Yes! thats the thought, what the hell am i doing maths for. See? Was right? guess its my superb ability to read minds. Anyway, yes, why am i doing it? Well i guess its a good back-up for if and/or when any other plans go badly, but it also was my second choice in uni courses. My first being Japanese. I expect that would be predictable to some degree as an animé fan, but hey at least i'm willing to put the effort in instead of shouting "DESU" and "ARIGATOU" all the time trying to make out i know what i'm saying. Trying to self-study is a big farce though, basically because i lack time. Ah well, thats the norm i guess.
Erm...anime list style thing requires a general idea for what i like. So! Here we go. Full Metal Panic! Is my No.1 Animé, and has been since i started off watching animé 5 years ago. All three series deserve a good watch and a lot more respect than they get, specially The Second Raid, which to be honest will make you forget the flaws you saw in previous seasons. I still prefer the Light Novels the series is based off of( ITS NOT BASED OFF OF MANGA! I SHALL MAKE THAT CLEAR HERE) But a lot of series based off of Light novels, including Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu aren't as good animé wise as they are Light Novel wise. Erm what other series require mentioning. Ah! Kanon is probably my favourite in terms of Romance, the 2006 version i mean. I adore all the characters, the wee phrases each character has(Uguu) and to be honest, i think it deserves a top 10 spot. Berserk as well, a classic among classics in my opinion. This series needs respect, its character development is still, to this day, far superior to most of what we get now. If you can find a better developed pair of characters to Guts and Casca, i'm all ears...er..eyes....er...whatever. Cowboy Bebop will always be in my top 10, no matter what i watch i expect. It has one of the most enjoyable casts of characters i've seen and all the music is done by my most favourite composer, Yoko Kanno. The soundtrack is, put simply, stunning. Other honorable mentions go to Code Geass, Seirei no Moribito, One Piece(can't forget this one) and Spice and Wolf
Erm..guess i could mention Manga. All i need mention i think is Berserk again. You cannot beat this in terms of Manga, there is not one manga i've read that could beat it. Art is jaw-dropping, characters are amazing, story is brilliant, and the action is something that must get animated again. I want more Berserk animé darn it. I guess...i could mention Naruto here manga wise. Despite its extremely slow and flawed animé counterpart, the manga actually still manages to impress me and make itself enjoyable. The last few chapters(this being said at the 438 mark) have been highly impressive and of a much higher quality than a fair few before it.
Right! thats my overly long generic "About me" section completed...again. If you wanna ask something please go ahead and leave a comment. I'll reply when i next get time. I'm happy to add you to my friends list as well, provided at least you have left a comment before and/or say why you be adding me. Bar that..erm...yeah..Arbalest signing off.

OK, tieme for HNTI post - judging by the frequency in which we write to each other I write to you, I can name it like this xP.
Hmmmm interested in this kind of stuff :) ? So do I, but contrary to you there in the UK we don't have so many emigrants from our former colonies (because we haven't got any :S) or just emigrants. LOL, pester - I fell in love with this word after seeing its translation :3.
Currently, I have classes (once a week, as I have 2 classes per 2 hours weekly) with a British from Leeds who can speak Polish quite understandable after only a year here. Quite impressive. Anyway, I hope I'll improve and be able to strike out another point from my list of goals : CAE passed :). Right now we are we are "bombed" with a big snubber of collocations >_> (I guess this makes a huge difference between intermediate and let's say "advanced" English user ) as I noticed that grammar and stuff like this is the same.
Uhh, the student loan, somehow I'm happy that I didn't have to take it :P. Soon, I'll hav to go and get some job, so sigh....it will be the same, I guess.
Oh, come on not every accident is you fault even if you hit a car, but of course you should be cautious :). You will learn about this special situations, so no worries :].
Hehe, well I guess right now I need tonloads of enthusiasm ;P. Indeed, it became or still becoming a universal language, but you know I wonder if this what we call in the Europe English can be called English also outside it. My point is that English slowly loses it's consistence and coherency what is inevitable when it's used by different people living in very remote places : the USA, Australia, China (Chinglish - a mix of Chinese and English) . I guess in near future you will have to be very formal and speak loud and clear in order to communicate. Heh, in Polish some words are also adjusted to Polish alphabet which is why we have komputer instead of computer or dzojstik instead of joystick and so on.
So the rules of studying are pretty similar, maybe in the UK you have bigger emphases on money :O.£30 is something along our prices here, I have to pay about £40 for retaking Design of Computer Networks this year -_-. Generally, studying is for free, but any resits of subjects and years are payable. One more year, only one more year...

Oh Hai thar
thought i'd drop you a line, thought you'd like to hear the rantings of another English wanker on online.
No?
well maybe i can offer you a hobknob instead Aaaa

Uuuhhh, poor you at least I hope you are now packed with cash :S. Was it an internship or just summer job to get more money ?
Hmmm interesting ;O. I've asked (before you posted your explanation) few people (either from the UK and the USA ) about this word and most of them found it odd ;O or old-fashioned, so I wonder if there is some use of it when now I know what it means xD.
O c'mon it's just one additional arrow ;P. if you won't obey it you won't cause accident o something, but drives behind you will be mad at you because you would be blocking their way ;P.
Sense of similarity ? I guess you can feel this "sense of similarity to English language" in every more developed country :P.
"I would imagine that once you get some of the basics down, it would be alright, but i would say its probably as hard as any other person learning a language"
Hmmm interesting view on learning language :>. I think the beginning(no experience :<) and advanced(you have habits and you are used to use some structures/words in your own (not always correct ) way ) level are the most difficult ones ;O. My argument for the latter one is that : you know some basic grammar and know some decent number or words and you try to learn idioms with context :S... and you can learn them to your death ><. Of course not all of them are commonly used (I guess), but it's better to know them than not know them :P. I suppose I need more enthusiasm to learn German than I had twice learning it for 3 years with miserable results : C grades xP. What's more fun I have got more enthusiasm to learn English since I've started writing with people on MAL, because you see "live" people writing in English and you think : Damn, it's so really useful thing :D. Last thing about linguistic stuff : really hate these borrowings from French in English :< : cliché, genre, mostly because when you got used to English pronunciation you see some wierdos like these two and how to pronounce the :/ ?
As I have uni about 2 km, I don't need to pack and head somehwere :3. Out of curiosity, how big is a fee in UK for repeating one subject (if there is such a possibility there) ? Here it's about 240 zł = £ 60, and i'll have to pay it as I've failed one of my exams ehhh ><. Hopefully, this will be my last year at uni.
P.S I guess I'll have to put "a wee" on my list xP.
Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary comes with interesting explanations xD. Sorry, for not understanding all works and bothering you :<.

well, delays in my case are more a rule than an exception ><. Good luck with your work, as I thought my plans of finding job this summer failed and tomorrow I'm going with my mum to Croatia for 2 weeks >_>.
No, no ,no I know that bar stands for ... a "shape" of chocolate or a place in restaurant where you can order %%%% drinks. My point was concerning this part "well bar when we're made to go to lectures ". I have no idea what bar means in that sentence as we didn't talk about chocolates or stuff like that xD.
Hmmmm I think you are talking about the other arrows which allow collision-free traffic, well there is a difference between these two groups of arrows. That one which I showed you, usually turns on with a red light so if you will go ahead you have to stop and wait for green light, otherwise for example : if you turn right you can try to turn if you won't cause any collision (no car on your left side). Difficult to explain and I don't see any info on Wiki too :P.
Hehe, same here with German ^^'. Is it difficult for English to learn French :O ? I've never tried, but judging by the melody and a lots of "grunting" sounds I think I'll pass.
A lots of words in English come from that language and it PISSES me OFF as their pronunciation is different from what I've bee learning for last several years ><.
P.S Now I'm almost sure that "bar" means "except", but I wait for official confirmation of this fact. Need to pack my bag for tomorrow's travel to Croatia -_-....
|
|
Sorry for eeee....slight delay with that replay :P. I don't know how things look in your case, but right now I have something what resembles holidays :P. The only problem which I have right now is choice of topic for my master thesis as next year I'll be at 5th, last year:/.
Can I ask you what "bar" mean in this context ^^' ? I have this stupid feeling that "chocolate bar" isn't the best translation in this case :O. I found something like bar = except, but it may be wrong.
@Driving : Hmmm I can bet that you have there in UK small differences in road law as we have. For example we have such a funny light known as "arrow" :
Link which allows you to turn right if road is free, but often foreigners aren't aware of that special situation and block crossroad what makes some more nervous drives to use their horns and abusive words :S.
Did you make any progress with your Japanese since then :O ? This term I had an exam in English and I received B grade, but somehow I ain't happy with my current skills :/. have you ever learnt some language (apart of English :P) at school ?
@FMP 000:I think I'll put on-hold searching for that episode :P. maybe someone in the future will upload or even translate it, so I could be entirely enjoy it :>.

You're younger than me, hence you're a youngster. The fact that I like talking down to Scots also plays a part in you being a youngster, too.
I have no laptop. If I'm out, I can't concentrate, so watching anime is a no-no. With me, anime is an inside house only thing.
Have you unbanned me from the AUKN club yet? The ban Paul put in place is still there.

Aionic | 07-05-09, 9:29 PM
Arseblast, forgive me if I'm mistaken but didn't you have a lowly MAL anime day count in the recent past; something like 20-30 days?
It offends me to see a youngster with more days invested in anime than myself.

That was only a rough summary, not a thorough translation, like it is now. I'd rather read these than the ones on Animesuki. ^_^

Well, I guess I have holidays all the time between the exams xD. Excluding the time when you have to do all projects and assignments which piled up during that time :O.
@License : Domo :). Sometimes I wonder why they don't do here courses for people leaving Poland and going to the UK. My point is left-handed traffic there as in most of the Europe is right-handed traffic.
@Opening : Yeap, it's K-ON! The only two words which I understood were lazy"" and "crazy". I guess it was something rebellious or something in this theme. What else they could sing about LOL xD.
Damn, it means that I'll have to put more extra effort to find that FMP 000 mini-movie.
