Info About Me
I've been watching various animes for quite a while actually... though I transitions from an occasional anime viewer to an anime lover in December 07. Since then i've seen many animes. I'm a self proclaimed "otaku-in-training"... I'm almost there though, I only have to learn japanese and visit japan now. I personally love the sci-fi, space opera, epic, romances. However, I'm opening up to other genres slowly... sorry, no yaoi though.

As for personal info
I'm an 20 year old 3rd year engineering major at UCLA
Besides anime, I enjoy movies, music, and chilling w/ friends
I like to come up with story concepts and fantasize how the finished product would look... though I never have the time to work on it.

First Anime: Pokemon
First Anime that I started to follow Japanese Broadcast: Digimon Savers
First Non-mainstream Anime: Shaman King
The Anime to get me into Anime: Eureka Seven
Animes I had seen at that time: 27

100th Anime completed: Kannazuki no Miko
MAJOR ASPECTS OF MY RATINGS
Characters and Animation make up 75% of what my ratings are based off.
Sound and Story is next with 10% each.
Everything else (including pacing and voices) make up the remaining 5%
That should add up to 100% =D

Replying to your Fafner comment from a while back, I think I might. It has average reviews where I hear that it just tries to add too much drama too quickly, but from what I've played in SRWK, I feel that I should try it out. I like the nice range on characters and with their mecha are powerful as heck as far as the game goes (tag team of sniping purple mecha & green sniping mecha; Kazuki is a godly solo fighter ^_^) , I think I might enjoy it.
And I'm sure it's a spoiler for the anime, but in the game, as long as you use Kazuki, Kanon, Michio, and 2 others all the time in the missions, you supposedly get all the Fafner characters who died for some random cause over the series back. :)

Well, characters are most important only because I'm rarely engaged by them. What is really most important is focusing on the theme of whatever the show is and making sure that all of the decisions in music, characters, development, plot, animation, etc. support that. I need for stories to be consistent in what it's trying to present, otherwise, more often than not, it comes off as a bunch of pandering nonsense.
