| Hotarun got to go on a picnic alone with her beloved sempai! If the recipe says to use baking soda (炭酸水素ナトリウム or 重曹) then you have to use baking soda. Otherwise don't use baking soda. I also recall from a few episodes back that Koma-chan didn't even know the correct way to hold a knife to cut a radish. When Hotarun picked those blades of grass and showed them to her sempai to ask them to be identified, the way she held them in her hand made it look exactly like it was a marijuana leaf. |

| Picnic with sempai. Both make a bento for the other. But we know what Komari's cooking is like... Hotaru's eyes go dull just before she takes each bite. But she forces herself on, solely in order to make her sempai happy. And each time she does, she only worsens her situation. We get to see Hotaru's parents, rather than just hearing her mum's voice. And her dad becomes the first (and only) male character to speak in the entire series. "Hotarun, didn't your family own a mountain in Tokyo?" Ren-chon forever. That scene with Renge and Suguru. Brilliant. He looked like a rabbit doing that. And Natsumi actually proves remarkably adept at something for once - turning Renge into a fairy. "Funky nanon!" A last minute boost up to a rare 10/10. I love this series. I love this series. I love this series. ~nanon. |

| Lots of Hotaru and Komari for the final episode which makes this episode even better. Hotaru will really do anything for her beloved senpai. Sad to see that it's finally over. Season 2 would be excellent, but we only have the OVA to look forward to for now. Overall, it has been an excellent show and the best of the Fall season. I will definitely be rewatching this in the near future. |

I was getting confused at the start, thinking to myself "they can't make the final episode so heavily focused around just those two characters". Fortunately there was plenty of focus on all the central four characters of the story, as well as a fair amount for Suguru, Kaede and Kazuho. There was some nice circularity to it as well - not just with the return of the seasons, but also with various references back to the first episode (with the whole "country" discussion, showing the budding of the cherry tree etc.) Incidentally, the blu-ray comes out tomorrow (Japan time) and it just shot up to rank 14 on amazon - the highest rank that any anime airing this season has reached to date. |

| Split on this... it was a fine series in general but than - it wasn't relaxing enough to be true iyashikei series, while gags were of various quality. At least Renge was cute, so +1 here and in the end it's 7/10 - I wouldn't mind second season. Maybe if I rewatch it, score might raise a bit but first I need to deal with Aria :D |
| I honestly can't think of a single bad thing to say about this show. It was hilarious at times, touching at others. The characters were wonderful, the animation was solid, and it was just overall adorable. Really hoping this gets a second season, but for now I'll have to just rewatch it while I wait for the OVA. Easy 10/10. |

The series doesn't quite leave the lasting impression that I typically see as a requirement for me to give something a 10 rating. But I honestly don't think there's any way it could realistically have been better - in terms of sheer enjoyability, and possibly in rewatchability as well, this anime is second to none. Images, sound, voice acting, setting, episode structure, story and events and just overall mood in general - none of these could possibly hope to be better. The ED is my favourite of the series I've actually watched this season as well. Great characters, too. With all that in its favour, how could I possibly rate it anything other than a 10? That said, the decision to do so wasn't an easy one for me, which is why I held off upping it until the very last minute. The decision to call this the runaway winner for best anime of the year, however, is an easy one. I'm gushing again |

| With a great mix of subtle and slapstick humour this has been a favourite of mine this season. Love all the characters with Renge being so damn cute it hurts! From the wonderful opening by Nano Ripe to the closing with the cast I've enjoyed the ride. The highlight for me had to be the culture festival. Never laughed so hard for so long. I'll miss this until the OVA is out. Overall 9/10 |

| Not bad, I loved the scenery and opening (nano.RIPE :) ), I'll give 7/10. The characters were fine but 12 episodes and Suguru never talks :/. I'll watch the OVA but I'm not going to miss it. |

| Hehe lots of scenery and a slower pace this ep, wasn't bad though. Lol @ eating grass. Also, Ren a funky as fuck fairy. :P Was a good series could get a little too slow at times but I liked the characters and loved the OP as well. The ep showing Candy-store and Ren's history was unforgettable XD. 7/10 |

| what a lovely, relaxing anime.. easy watching it had me in tears of laughter and of sadness, really likeable characters for once in a slice of life anime i have liked ALL characters pretty much, beautiful art.... will miss watching this one, first slice of life i have really gotten into, i do hope it gets another season! |
| It's Picnic time for Komari and Hotaru, but got worst for Hotaru to eat it all XD. Adventuring through the field with a final wave at the end. Well I have nothing bad to say about this anime, it was nearly positive on several categories: The characters, relaxing atmosphere and music, and the slice of life story, all are just amusing and cute. Almost all of the main characters have a lot of character development in the anime to. Though just a minor issue is that some scenes had that really long pause until it shifts to a different scene and kind of weird and awkward when it is only 5 students in one school. Well 9/10 for the season, the only anime that relaxes me on Monday's :D |
| One of the best slice-of-life anime's I've ever had the pleasure of watching. I especially enjoyed the setting and the backgrounds as I am also from the country and it reminded me of home. Funny how once you grow up and start living in a big city you realize how much you miss the country and how much you miss being a kid. |

| Though Ren-chon was my favorite, I do like all the characters in Non Non Biyori. Natsumi always cracked me up in previous episodes with her constant mischief, but in this last episode she was great. Turning Renge into a fairy was so adorable! Let's hope for a season 2 after the OVA. |

| It is kind of cute that Ren-chon still worries if their village is a "good" place if it's not anything like Tokyo - every place should be a good place with Ren-chon and other budding characters ;) Anyway, my only regret is that the brother was introduced so lately in the series - the guy is hilarious without actually doing nothing more than enjoying the girls' antics from the sidelines and I think his perspective on their everyday life was valuable for the series. Would love to see more, no doubt; firmly - a good series. |
| A nice way to finish, got to see some focus on Komari (my favorite character) and Hotaru. Overall this series was really funny and relaxing, the pictures of various episode highlights at the end really brought it all back with a solid end. I like how this series focused scenery of the countryside and nature, especially in the first and last episodes. This is another case of cute girls doing cute things done right, 8/10 from me. | As a result of watching Episode 12, I can imagine children all over Japan adding baking soda to their food hoping to improve the taste. Koma-chan referred to it as "tansan suiso natoriumu" (炭酸水素ナトリウム) which is the chemical name. Run to the kitchen and try some! Poor Hotarun! |
| Poor Hotarun, Komari tries to flaunt her non-existing cooking skills >_< No doubt Komari has an iron cast stomach (many grown men would not have kept that gruel down). I laughed out loud for real when Hotaru was summoning her will to reject senpais food and the moment she offered a bite she was all mellow mellow, Komari does not realize the power she wields over Hotaru. For a moment I was surprised when they said "the road work is though, go play with the kids" to Hotaru, no doubt she is already strong enough, she is stronger than lazy sensei (in that scene Hotaru is almost the same height as the teacher). I wonder who was the VA that made the plant munching sounds for Suguru and how much he got paid. Sadly when s2 starts oniichan will leave the school. Renge's family must come from an old Samurai family to own a fricking mountain! My grandfather had two ranchs and he had to buy them (with gold coins no less), but I do not think renge's family has the money to buy one even if it is "dirty cheap", it still is a mountain! |

| LOL @ it's not that unusual to own a mountain and Renge meets Renge. Va-voom! What a funky finale. Aside from the wonderful scenery porn of the countryside, I really enjoyed things like a kid making friends with another kid from out of town over summer vacation and watching the sun rise for the first time ever. Also, the ED has the kind of charm you can only get from someone who doesn't have a particularly good singing voice like Kaiki in the latest Monogatari OP or the first Mushibugyou OP. Speaking of the music, I should probably check out the soundtrack sometime. 8/10 @VanishingKira: I don't know how I managed to post right after you twice in the same day, but lol. |
