Ah, Morpheus-looking dude from Zeta Gundam cameo!

All of the drama is wasted because its so inconsistent and illogical. For example, I've really hated how the lazy writers made the federation into antagonists, there's been absolutely no reason for their bizzare actions in hindering the Albion this whole time. I mean I get that its all foreshadowing for Zeta Gundam, but its just not showing us coherently why stuff is happening, they're just throwing stuff at us because its dramatic.

Even the pirate-looking lady doesnt make sense, why would all of her soldiers follow her crazy actions? There's just no justifiable explanation for all this crazy shit going on, and its made all the worse because I just dont give a crap about anyone on this show! They're all so bland.

Except Morpheus-looking dude from Zeta Gundam and his smirk.

I like that the Delaz guys last words were Sieg Zeon.
Just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The rest of the plot though...ugh.
I really don't know what is happening.
Its like I'm only watching half an episode or something.

Of the two plot holes in the ova regarding Cima and the whole Federation conspiracy, its actually addressed in some side works. I think the one for Cima was entitled "Mayfly of Space" or something and it pretty much said that she got screwed over by Zeon many times during the course of the original series and took the opportunity in this series to betray them and get revenge. For the conspiracy thing, one episode of Gundam Evolve mentioned that Jamitov and Bask ended up leaking information to Zeon purposely regarding the Gundams, so in a sense they are responsible for the whole conflict in 0083.

I still really liked this series despite these two faults and found it vastly entertaining.

Oh I thought I was dumb for being confused and unable to deal with fast-paced things. Once I'm done with this OVA, I think I'll do some 0083 reading to help me ;) *nod*

Dendro Orchis is so cool! Kind of sad to see it half broken.

Cima and her team had some problems with Zeon in the past (also a trauma). Maybe she got close with Delax Fleet to have this chance to take them out.

Yay for Bask. And the solar system's back!

One user said in a previous thread how Cima always has to "antagonize everything". How fitting.

I like nitpicking this series as well, but I actually liked these new developments. And I really don't see how this doesn't make any sense. The apparent military incompetence was actually because of power struggles, in order to raise the status of the Titans among the Federation. Make the military look bad and then their faction come to save the day. And assuming we all watched Zeta prior to this, you can see how well the Titans succeded. As for Cima, it was already highlighted how she had no ideals, so it's not so absurd to think she would switch sides if the opposition made her a better offer.

I don't know about these extra informations ZakuHead mentioned, but to me it all makes sense to a reasonable level just with what this OVA provided so far.

Actually this episode gave answers to a lot of things making everything a lot clearer.
It's not easy if you don't pay much attention but i got it now.
My answer might be a few years late, but some future viewer seeing this and being as confused as you will probably be helped, so here it goes.
What you are seeing is basically the creation of the Titans.
The reasons they didn't want the Albion interfering is because they already have a deal with that pirate woman inside the Zeon forces to handle everything their way.
The Albion will be in the way of that since they are idealist simply fighting the enemies and not knowing the deal with that woman.
If you are wondering why didn't they just inform them about her? Well the answer is obvious. First by looking at the future Titans commander there it's a clear indication of why. Also the woman was there even before the use of the nuke and who would explain to idealist like Albion that they had a traitor inside and knew Delaz Fleet's plans but they let 2/3 of the fleet get nuked? So baring this two facts it is safe to assume that what we are seeing is the birth of the Titans. It seems some high rankers inside the Federation conspired to let things escalate like this despite knowing all the plans of the Delaz Fleet so a certain group of people inside the Federation will appear at the last moment with that solar thing and save the day. This group of people will get all the credit and power inside the Federation forces after their achievement and because the Zeon forces of Delaz Fleet where allowed to cause so much damage, this group will have the perfect excuse to organize an anti-Zeon specialized team called, surprise surprise, the "Titans".
As you can imagine all this can't happen if they allow other Federation forces like that black officer guy we saw or the ship of Albion to stop the Delaz Fleet before their people do it and that's why they had to stop the other Federation people from acting up and saving the day prematurely.

Monad, you REALLY helped me to understand everything here.

Besides the main characters, this series manages to explain a lot of things that happened between the original series and Zeta Gundam. Mainly, the Titans' creation, but also how Axis was able to maintain itself and develop.

Great episode!!

Gundam Mark III really looks bulky as hell, but has a lot of firepower. I-Field reminds me of GN-Field from Gundam 00 only has that white spark instead of green.

So intense and lots of backstabbing happening.

Never knew Cima didn't like being part of Zeon from the start and was already making back door deals way before she became a subordinate of Delaz.

The backstab reminds me of Gihren Killing Degwin Zabi then Kycilia killing Gihren out of jealous of power.

Kou seems to be straining his body too much. I hope Nina can still talk to Kou before the final battle.

Last episode! Fights are great, but i want more of it. Let's see how this series ends.

It's better when they stick to the action.

First-gen METEOR (Gundam Seed), that's what that was on Gundam 3.

I was under the impression I had skipped entire scenes in the episode, the transitions were too abrupt.

Cima not caring a bit for Zeon was clearly shown but I would have been more at ease with a few signals for her plotting before the episode. They could have spare some time for it (they had time for action orgy). (edit: my bad, the fact one of her men was carrying the Stardust operation sheets foreshadowed it, I'm just stupid)

I had the idea of the Solar ray but never thought it would be their strategy xD. I believed the Federation high-ranks we saw just wanted to eliminate Zeon left-overs in order to be the saviors of Earth and sadly failed to understand the profit there (gain importance inside the Federation). Especially because I watched the 0083 Evolve two days ago. But they even seems to consent to the Axis existence... why?

This Gundam model is stupid and overpowered. They even reproduced the beam deflection ability Zeon created for the Big Zam. And what are those drugs Uraki is taking? Is it because the model is too hard to handle (for an old-type)?
The mobile armor has it too but even got the gun/rocket punches from the unfinished MA Char was piloting in A Baoa Qu

If I had understood everything clearly, this episode would have been great. ( 5/5)
But this will be a 4/5

Note: I also noticed the Albion doesn't do much apart supplies. What's the point of an upgraded Pegasus ship then??

PS: thanks to @Monad

The twists never end, this only increases the grandeur of the plot that does not let brand as obvious or predictable. The narrative when he expected a happy ending, so to speak, I wonder great. I only regret the fact that you have not seen a more prolific confrontation between Gundam and Zeon fleet, this time we have seen only the remnants of the battle interspersed by other events still paramount. Good directing and screenplay. Sieg Zeon!

Here comes again the ugly face of Bask Om.

P.S. Wow! I got to write six thousand messages.

Thanks a lot @Monad, because I wouldn't have gotten shit by myself and even then, I still think the episode presented everything in a very confusing and unclear manner. Plus it doesn't answer the question of why Cima would go as far as betraying Zeon and what she'd gain from this deal she struck with the Feddies aside from maybe money: a more in depth look into her motivations would've made the whole episode much better imo.

It's always depressing to see how someone's ideology is being exploited..
Even if Zeon's top brasses from One Year War and First Zeon War are not better than Titans, this series once again shows us that Zeon's ideology is a real thing to some peoples.. And to see how they are being exploited by opportunistic peoples like (newcoming)Titans is really depressing.. This also happen in real world ...

Pretty much - it's one group of aspiring Space Nazis taking advantage of another group of actual space Nazis to help themselves claim power.

Thanks to people in this thread for confirming my thoughts on the plot, it pretty much makes sense, though I agree that more motivation for Cima might be fitting (maybe it'll be explained in the Mayfly of Space?).

Gato's and Kou's models were so far the most overpowered in the UC timeline I've ever seen, pretty ridiculous, and they aren't even that strong in Zeta.

I wish Gato just obliterated the entire ship at the end and not just throw this claw thing. Would've been a cooler outrage.
