I will rage so hard if they turn this show into an ecchi focused show.

It's an Eroge adaption, ecchi is a given, and if you don't like it then don't watch, you're not the target audience, now stop complaining and let the bigger otaku audience enjoy.

On topic, did you guys even play the game? it's main focus is NOT mecha, it's a mix between action/romance/drama/mecha and throw in a little bit of ecchi and you've got an epic anime.

Yea I loved it so much, loved the romance of it (sad but awesome) though and how screwed things became after you found out about the Sumika in the Alternative world.

Lol he also did it with a cyborg/android or whatever she was.

Sounds very original and creative. Definitely serious and not fan service-oriented. Won't be harem or ecchi or none of that shit. Girls don't have watermelon-sized, gravity-defying boobs. Sounds like intelligent viewers only. Sign me up.

I think you understand something false. The VN didn't have much ecchi compared to other VNs neither in the Alternative world nor in the normal world and it has enough mecha in it do be called so. I think noobdy wo knows the orginal will watch the Anime for the ecchi, because every one familiar with the VN will watch it for the story.

I did read them. And this is based in the Alternative world where there was not much ecchi and it focused on the war with the beta and Takeru's.... special problems. It wasnt a character focused eroge, it was a story focused eroge. I haven't read Total Eclipse because its not in english and my japanese isnt good enough yet, but I expect it to be plot driven with the focus being on the war versus the beta.

I don't necessary mind the ecchi, but if this thing is To Love Ru with mecha I will flip.

Maybe a few panty shots here and there. Also the fact they have watermelon-sized which are gravity-defying boobs is probably fan service enough.

Choice quotes from the director coming from Newtype's April issue:

https://type94.wordpress.com/2012/03/18/newtype-042012/

“I think that this story’s core is very thick. The foundation of this work is how people continue to live on in the midst of the cruelty of war. People are portrayed very candidly, so the drama is very stern and impressive. Of course, those who don’t want to think too hard and simply want to see cute girls and robots will also find something to like in this show (laughs). I think people can enjoy this show no matter what they are looking for.”

This is great.
Actually, i think they made the right choice to animate this one instead of the original trilogy (to me, it can't fit to an anime show).

Even if it's half as good as alternative i'd be glad to watch it ^^.

I think it would be awesome if this Total Eclipse adaption made some success, it would make good sales and add the budget to invest to the Muvluv trilogy. But I think we dont need the Extra adaption, just UNLIMITED and Alternative are enough, I didnt even read the extra. For the Muv-luv Unlimited adaption, It should have around 12 episodes and at least to be a decent harem, mecha anime, that would be enough for Unlimited to make the foundation to Alternative. For Alternative, I spent 40 hours finishing it, if they want to adapt this, they have to get rid of the info dumping and fasten the tempo, it might reduce to around 30 hours of watching. So the Alternative adaption should be around 65 episodes, like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Gundam series have like 50+ episode, I don't see why Alternative cannot.

Play extra and then play unlimited and alternative again and then play altered fable, and if you didn't have a blast I would be very worry about you.

It would be nice to have the anime series air for more then 12 eps but they probably don't want to push it over 26 but that's just my opinion. I could go for a whole years worth of Muv Luv, but that won't happen and the TE light novels are still going.

Robots aren't bad I might say. There's some weight. Anyway I always though they were more like Evangelion robot than heavy ones like Gundam and such, so it's kind of ok.

Animation for characters well..we don't have any so, let's wait for a second PV.

Don't know if anyone has noticed this, but why do the girls in the Muv-Luv universe have either have ridiculously big busts or flat as chopping boards busts.

What's up with that? What happened to the mid ranges?

I think capt. Isumi, lt. Hayase and Suzumiya, Munataka and Touka have quite normal busts size.

I think they should all be DFC to be honest, and not just characters in this show, every female anime character ever.

Some good stuffs such as interviews, additional info, etc. I'm in dilemma of picking Muv-Luv trilogy or Little Busters! VN for this holiday, but after reading this interview I guess I'll pick Muv-Luv first. I'm pumped.
