| Great episode!!! The fighting scenes were great! I love how the song is in the background of the fighting scenes. It adds in that extra thing to create the atmosphere. I wonder if that person is somehow related to Ranka?? Or is also a survivor of that incident? ANd what happened to the earring!!! I hope it's not lost! |

| As other users have said, it was a stunning episode. The songs as plot devices are kinda meh... It feels forced, but I should know better it's part of Macross. Anyway that last song was really good. Btw that guy... is he human? Zentradi? Or maybe sometihng else? Somehow he looks familiar... |

| 400-metre spaceship transforms into a mecha. Now this is what I call BADASS. Kanno Yoko really knows her composition well. Another anime to justify her incredible talent. The alien soldier's gonna be an important character (considering the fact that he appears in the opening song. Guess the Vajras are sentient beings, music might (will) get through them, just like the Zentradis 50 years ago. The ending hints at Ranka's origin huh... 21:39 Bobby, I like you. |

| Calling a battle formation "Planet Dance" hahaha. Fitting decision for a Fire Bomber fan 2 seats? So Sheryl gave a ticket not only for Alto, but for Ranka too? And Ranka didn't know about Alto's involvement in SMS...right? Well actually she should've because Ozma told her exactly that over a phone call in previous episode. Maybe she was too sad to actually understand him. Or maybe she didn't know that the operation started on that specific day. UPD: she does know, she held a party for Alto and other SMS members in ep. 4. That magical girl style transformation xD Also, does Sheryl's mic serve as a "whip"? She's also pretty fast at changing pants, isn't she? Took the shorts off while talking to Grace xD "Interdimensional comms system" didn't seem particularly new...I mean, VFs could do that in previous installments too, right? How does Sheryl's dress work without falling off? xD MACROSS IN GERWALK MODE! Now that's what the reduced length is for - mobility! I wonder what can Sheryl's earrings do (transmit songs?), and what was happening with Ranka's dress lol. She was also fascinated that Sheryl knew about Alto's involvement in the battle yet had guts to thing and not cry (at least that's my interpretation) That new pilot was *inside* the Vajira ship and was awakened by a song? Hmmmm. UPD: Wait, it was spotted by Mikhail during the battle before. It was outside the ship. |

| No matter how many times I watch this episode, it still gets me pumped and remains one of the best mech action in anime I've ever seen. I have yet to find another series that incorporates music into action as well as Macross F. And this sweet, sweet transformation of Quarter while keeping details like fighter screen around it and small units on it providing cover fire as well as surrounding explosions while it moves through the battlefield. Space carrier transforming to engage in close quarter combat is what mecha is all about. God, I miss this genre. I guess 2000s were the last decade for mecha, but damn it went out with a bang.
