In my opinion it makes Kimagure look like a joke. It's similar in that it has a love triangle at it's core, but the three involved in MI are much better characters imo. Maison Ikkoku also has about as good an ending as you'll find in the romance genre. It's a must watch for a romance fan.
Also, make sure to watch the two movies for Kimagure, the second one in particular is very strong and gives the story the ending it needed.
Oh, and I'm also planning on re-watching LoGH at some point. It's been a while since I saw it and I'd like to check it out in 720p. I re-watched the My Conquest movie. I love it more every time I see it.

They're similar in the sense that the male lead is indecisive and the female lead is a tsundere. Other than that, not really, they're both just pretty good romance series. Maison Ikkoku was better and more serious on the romance department, though.

Nice picture of Madoka. Read your review of KOR. I've watched both movies, but nothing more as yet. This particular genre is tough for me especially if I don't connect with any of the characters. That usually happens in these teen love-triangle stories. I've resisted getting into this one, but maybe I should. Thanks for your review!!!
