While this episode had no action scenes it's probably my fav of the series so far, the interaction between Sheryl and Alto is good fun to watch and it was nice to see their relationship grow over the course of this episode, I definitely prefer this pairing. Sheryl was pretty awesome this episode, she should win over a few people, this episode also looks like it foreshadows the double "turn" thats bound to happen. We hear the studio version of Sheryl's What About my Star as well as a Ranka version sung live. Find out more about the Varja, see some more between the secondary triangle in Ozma/Kathy/Leon and Sheryl's home fleet Macross Galaxy is under attack.

I really liked this episode but I like the dedication of Alto to Ranka. I hope they pair over Sheryl and Alto. Rank seems immature and young but I think her personality would good for the fallen Prince.

Great episode, even if there was no action at all. I'm impressed how much this episode changed my opinion about Sherly. When I started watching Macross F I didn't really like her but after this episode it changed completely. She is so much better if not in her bitchy mode and of course the locker scene made me ROFL. Also dunno if its just my imagination or the character animation quality is getting better. I really hated how characters looked in ep1 but in this episode it was really nice.

Good episode. I liked the scene where they Alto threw the paper plane, and mused that they were all meant to do what they did (flying, singing etc).

A good eps all around I also was impressed how good they changed my opinion of Sherly. I think she needs Alto more then Ranka... although, I don't see it going that way.

I still don't like Sheryl too much but I don't dislike her anymore. But I'm not sure what pairing I'd go for at this point. Back to the episode though, it was quite nice even though it didn't have much action. Waiting for next episode for that =P

I am positively hyper about getting my hands on the soundtrack/vocal collection! The music is some of the best for this season!

i like this episode also, we see the love triangles developing and the songs are amazing, is was to be expect from a macross series.

This show continues to impress. I was smiling through the whole episode and really enjoyed the insert song. There's amazing music in this series and I know Yoko Kanno is to thank for that. As far as the pairings, I like Alto x Sheryl, if only because Sheryl is too hot to be left alone. Will be interesting is we see the last of Sheryl for a few episodes in the next episode.

Ranka is a good singer, and she has the determination. And this confirms more about the connection between Ranka and the Vajra

and yes, this episode confirms that Sheryl is still a clinging slut. I haven't changed my opinion.

That was a throw away episode, teenage love triangle drama, Sheryl fanservice, and crappy songs (good singing though, but those have to be the worst lyrics ever). The end was interesting, with the drone spazzing out and everything but other than that not very enjoyable. But hey, they can't all be winners.

conclusion: IZ DAT SUM FOLD BOOSTER?

Frontier is a love story set in space (Kawamori's words not mine) so how's this a throwaway episode? The 3 things Macross has been famous for the last 25 years is Mecha, Music and Romance. Escaflowne has the same formula and it's also by Kawamori.

Great episode. The developing romance and love triagle is sure something to keep an eye on. Can't wait for the next episode! Hope they don't wipe out the Macross Galaxy fleet before we get to see it.. it'll be quite a shame. Wonder what YF it is at the end..
