That guy with the mask looks pretty creepy :o

More delicious food and cooking as usual. This time, we got some seafood and lobster. Maoxing's opponent is such an intimidating man though.

From the next episode preview, the story in the past will be revealed, and it'll be quite a drama. Though I think this episode best dish is that onion soup.

Mao was so cool taking Chouyu's place after he fell because of the scorpion, and making himself be taken seriously. Meili, and Chouyu's lives are at stake, he can't afford to lose!

What's the the still images during the cooking scene
Shouldn't they be focusing the best part of animation on those parts?

That was an intense episode.

Mao is really holding his own against the masked bastard. The final challenge looks and sounds more intense, wonder what will they be doing?

I'm also more interested in knowing the masked guy's past and why he challenged Zhou yu.

cool episode.

I'm having a One Punch Man S2 flashback from watching this, except it's even worse because they could've just make the first episode a summary episode for the previous season instead of using this many episodes to reanimate the same thing in an inferior quality.

Also, lol at Zhou Yu for putting his cloak back on just to dramatically take it off again

Still interesting to watch.
I roughly know how next epi would be like.

Luckily the storyboard was pretty interesting.

For someone who watched the old anime, this was still pretty good.

The thing is, this series is 20+ years old, this is essentially a sequel for both the manga and this shows adaptation since the original manga ended on a cliffhanger and the anime sorta complete. But regardless, you've gotta hand it over to the people involved for at least trying to make this series modernized.

Well, at least we get to relive the challenge that is Zhou Yu plus Mao vs. the masked organisation that denounces the super chefs in the original series (Episodes 22 and few). Though I'd say that the original was much amplified and gruesome for its time that adds to the overall splendid presentation, the new version of course re-enacting as good as it is.

Challenge accepted, no challenge is too small for Mao.

Just finished re-watching the old version to see how this new one would compare... and im sorry to say three episodes in im already done. The voice acter choices ruined any chance i had at enjoying this, no offence to the voice actors but after watching all 52 episodes of the original i just feel annoyed watching an anime i love with voices that dont fit and what seems to be a very rushed story.

I'm a fan of the original anime series but I'm still really enjoying this remake/adaption. Definitely faster paced than the original series and it's cutting the fat.

I'm glad this lobster battle is moving fast because this part really dragged out in the original anime series.

I'm just happy to see the show return and hope that it will eventually take this series further than the original run so we can get more story. I love these characters.

I feel like the trials of super elite chef and his childhood need some recapping. People here might assume he's inferior to ChouYu and have been raise by him for years. However, the bond and inner emotions of meili and shiroi shines here more in details. We are really going skyrocket pass each arcs rushing for new content. The underground chef need more hype, buildup world building, mao feel so insignificant tiny here without context of what he been through with chou taking credit

The fried lobster really seems finger licking good. High stakes match for Mao although I kinda found the 'where is the sauce' moment pretty comedic compared to the original.
