It has been announced that Ouji Hiroi and Kosuke Fujishima (the creators of Sakura Taisen) have teamed up with the Taiwanese studio Next Media Animation to create a new anime series. Titled Karen Senki, the anime is set to debut in the United States first. The first two episodes of the anime will be screened at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2014 on September 27th, with Hiroi and Fujishima attending as guests of the event. The series will also begin streaming on Crunchyroll the same day.

Synopsis
Machines led by their machine leader, Seek who thinks they are better than humans and wants to build a new world order. The mechanical race comes together to lord over their creators. On the other side of this war, Karen leads the human resistance group, "11." Having lost her little sister Touka in the war against these evolving machines, Karen’s strong motivation to save humanity is personal and raging for victory. Slowly growing distant and detached to numb her grief, Karen wants to inflict the same pain onto the machines as they have done to her. Can machines feel pain like humans?

Set against the neon color futuristic yet chaotic post-apocalyptic background, this eclectic group of human beings find themselves fighting for their lives as they are hunted down in each episode. It becomes clear to them that their enemy will never have the heart it takes to lead Earth. Slowly, they too see Karen hardening and becoming the very enemy she despises. Seek and Karen may be fighting each other, but at the core they have become the same. Seek wants to be truly human and Karen to be human again. Both yearning for a soul—the ability to love and be loved.

The faces look a lot better than any 3d cgi show ive seen, so its not a total loss.

But seriously, the actual animation looks like gameplay footage of star wars the old republic.

I actually like how it looks.

It has that charm of cheap early CG animation, but still kinda improved.

I kinda like the premise though. Not a fan of CGI but we'll see how it goes. This will get a MAL entry right? (unlike RWBY)

CGI isnt "early". Its not going to get better with time. Cheap CGI is like cheap cars. They will always be cheap.

Both Ouji Hiroi (Sakura Wars) & Kouske Fujishima (You're Under Arrest! & Ah! My Goddess) are heading up this show & that's good enough for me. I'll definitely be watching this.

When you compare this CGI to the stuff that Pixar and Disney put out, it's just straight up embarrassing.

It's fully CGI which rarely sells when it comes to TV anime and ONAs, movies are another story.

Those are the only 2 full length TV anime that are full CGI and sold well, 2 shorts also sold well enough to get extra seasons.

No, it is not "Blind fanboyism". I like both of their works so of course I'm looking forward to seeing this. Also, I at least am willing to give this show a chance whereas you're writing it off before even a single episode has aired. My tastes aren't limited to Messrs. Hiroi & Fujishima either-Feel free to check out the lists in my profile if you like.

A show is good when it is good. It has nothing to do with CGI or not CGI. Also how many BD/DVD a show can sell doesn't equal how good it is.

But at the end of the day, it all come down to what you like and don't.

apparently, a big reason why im watching aldnoah zero is because of the staff. Hiroyuki Sawano is my favorite composer of all time, if hes working on something new of course thats gonna influence me on watching it. so that comment kinda bothered me.
