This was my least favorite episode so far... something about the kid that couldn't age didn't really feel like Cowboy Bebop. Other than that this was another great episode.

not aging != not being able to die

if they're going to try to shoe-horn fantasy into their sci fi then they should do a better job of it.

The music was the only good thing about this episode. The whole “doesn’t age" making you immortal part was ridiculous - so not ageing means you can be shot in the head and blown up...yet still be a little kid. Just meant the whole basis for this episode was kinda flawed and thus my least favourite so far. However it’s still a really good series so I’ll forgive this episode :p

It does work, somewhat. What benefit would you have in not aging? It's an anime, they're in space and in the future..I see nothing wrong with it personally. You have vampires that don't age and don't die, so like I said, there wasn't anything "wrong" with it. It was just weirdish

Holy crap, Faye ate Ein's dog food! The expression on Ein's face when Faye ate his food was priceless!

This was not one of the strongest episodes of Bebop, and the concept of the immortal child isn't new. Still, there's a mysterious feeling and a lot of depth about this character and the final minutes were really good.

Spike ended it with a Bang!

Take it as constant cellular regeneration. The kid's cells don't get old, preventing aging and allowing super fast healing since that accident. There's actually a biological theory concerning never-aging chromosomes. That jewel was symbolism for what was missing in that person. It's a very farfetched story, but it works if you don't take it too seriously, Marvel Comics has been doing this for over 50 years :P. This series is far from reality, no matter how real it feels some times.

Aside from the fact that it really did seem unfitting to me, the plot for the episode was done really nicely. Not my favourite though.

Maybe it's because I'm open minded to science fiction/fantasy but once again I found this episode to click with me. For a 20 something minute character, I thought that there was a great amount of depth to the kid. Like Veethorn said, this wasn't mean to be taken at face value, I believe, just a bit of underlying symbolism i think.

My favorite episode so far, just narrowly beating out 5. Personally, I think the tone fits this series perfectly.

Obviously they were adding a more supernatural effect which isn't the usual theme with the Cowboy Bebop stage but I don't know why everyone is making a big deal about the kid dying. The reason he died is because he was shot with that stuff from the "explosion", it's not like one random shot to the head killed him. It's not the best Cowboy Bebop episode or anything.

The kid was much too cocky, not even trying to move or run when he has a gun pointed at him, it led to his doom, because Spike only had one shot at it, and the kid let him take it.

Did anyone else get vibes of Akira while watching this one? The jars of organs, the bizarre aging... the kid who looked exactly like Akira.

Heck, until I saw the bullet hole in Giraffe, I was pretty sure the kid had TK'ed him out of the window.

Yeah, definite Akira vibe, but more than anything I never realised how prophetic this episode is of the end of the show.

The theory behind it is he had hyperspace radiation inside him , so normal matter (bullets) cannot interact with him the same way as with others (yea maybe he shouldnt have bled also but meh)

I dont think it was THAT far'fetched..

It was an all right episode, I was kind of expecting something different after what I saw on episode five, it seems we're going back to episodic themed episode. Not that episode five didn't fit that theme, but it had a over reaching plot that connected the dots to Spike's life.

I enjoyed the episode, it's always fun seeing a young kid, who's actually ancient and can't die, willingly take head shots. Classic....classic

Hmmmm. Didn't enjoy this episode much. What I like so far from this series is the depth and intrigue of each antagonist but this one was a letdown. I couldn't understand the kid's motives from the dialogues; to me it just seemed like he was extremely bored so took a guy hostage. And then Spike helps the dead bounty out of good will or something? It doesn't fit his character.

While many consider this episode less interesting and even likely the worst so far, I find it to be refreshing. Apart from the great blues music used throughout the episode (which effectively serve to establish the old-feel mood of the episode, considering the fact that it is depressing for a man which never aged since many years), the use of impossibly-futuristic science logic surprises me to no end. The virus episode, the red-eye enhanced perception episode, and this. Again, a never-dying moral is to be questioned again, is it really that great to live forever?

Great episode!

Lol Faye eating Ein's food, but that's what happen if you don't have money :P

It's kinda tragic how Giraffe is killed in front of his best friend Zebra. It definitely broke his heart when he saw that happened. At least it gave a clue how to kill Wen by reversing the effect so he can finally age.

i thought at first this was some space magic shenanigans. But it's just radiation from the hyperspace. Still 30 years and he was experimented and lived on? He must have lived a rough life.

And in the beginning it showed Spike being experimented as well. So i guess he too was a subject of some sorts?

And yes the kid is kinda like Czesław from Baccano! Cannot be killed or die.

Good episode! Can't wait for the next one!
