| What about an achievement for completing X number of long titles? Say 100+ episodes for anime titles, and either 100+ chapters or 200+ chapters for manga/novel/manhwa/manhua tities, whichever seems more reasonable without being too easy. |

| hey, I just joined to say I absolutely love malgraph! Two things though: 1. I didn't find the Mean score per decade very useful as it is. I have the 90's highest as I only watched like a dozen (all decent) titles where as I watch all airing shows at the moment and drop the shit ones. Wouldn't it be better to weight it by the number of items and/or have it per year instead of per decade? that would be more interesting information imo. 2. How about trend lines for Activity timeline? Bars per month are good but it's hard to tell that for instance I finish a lot of stuff in every July because that's when the spring season ends. Or that I watched more anime in 2010 than 2009. Also, how about some separator line per year (every january)? |
| 1. Weighting is pretty hard to implement properly, and doesn't yield satisfactory results for all users. A good example would be fav genres and studios, where we went through a bunch of iterations to come up with a pretty complicated formula (it'll never be perfect for everyone though). I appreciate the suggestion, but I think we'll stick with "mean score per decade" instead of making it "favorite decades". 2. The problem with the activity timeline is that there are a lot of users with barely any dates logged on their MAL list. I'm not sure if adding more things to that graph wouldn't bring more bad than good, e.g. making it unreadable or weird trend lines. I see you're a Forum Moderator... could you use your contacts and try to convince someone to check the logging of start-date and finish-date on MAL? I've noticed that adding series to your list though the "quick add" feature doesn't log any date, which makes me think that's the main reason that a lot of people have almost empty activity timelines. |

| There would be too many years to plot that graph - we'd have to make another full-width box to display that data, except we trim it to the last 10 years or something like that. I'm still not sure about hose trendlines, I'll ask chrupky about that. Regarding the date: I just added an anime series to my list using that box. Start date is empty. |

| Speaking of ratings per decade, is it possible to set it so that you have to have seen a minimum number of series from a decade for it to be considered in the graph? Something as low as 5 is fine. I'm asking because I only have 2 anime - both short OVA/movie things - from the 70s, and their 'average' rating creates a huge spike for that decade that does not reflect my opinion. |

| Could you add a "Most Watched Genres" graph? Right now, I can find out how many I've watched by mouse-hovering over the genre label in Favorite Genres. EDIT: Also, when I click on the label it just takes me to all the anime in that genre. Would it be possible to have an option to see only the anime you've watched of that genre? Or would that be too hard to implement? |

| The problem is not the implementation, because it wouldn't be difficult to code. But if we listed your every single anime or manga of a given genre, the page would render slower and weigh more. There was a suggestion to list titles for each decade, genre and studio. It would be pretty laggy if someone had 300 entries and each one would be listed a few times... There's a reason we only have a few of those lists and limit them to first 20 entries, and that is when it's useful (e.g. you see which entry on your list doesn't have a completion date specified, so you can fix it). |

| There were a number of manga achievement categories suggested in the Achievement Workshop. Did any sound appealing? Related to that, the I Like Them Long Achievement would probably work great for manga. |
| Number-of-titles achievements are on their way, along with I Like Them Long. The real problem is that there are three times more manga entries than anime, so I'm not sure if listing all insert_any_genre_here titles makes sense, since there will be a shitload of them. We could limit it to the most "representative" titles, ignoring unpopular ones. Suggestions based on this thread: - mahou shoujo (list) - mystery/detective (code or list? I guess a list would be better) - romance (code?) - shounen ai/yaoi (code?) - games excluding sports (list) - sports? (code?) I don't really like the idea of letting the code "decide" on that, since I don't trust genres on MAL, and we would end up with very many titles that aren't related to given genres. |
