Good to hear back from you. Yes, that's right. I'm still teaching English in Japan. Life here has been pretty good...in spite of the North Koreans lobbing missiles our way.

Hi.. Just checking to see if you're still around here. Glad to see you are. If you're wondering, I think you came across me first (on last.fm). Cheers!

I actually didn't notice, your english is spot-on. lol what is "nostalgic French mood"? But ya I have been watching more older shows, reading older manga, recently. But there's still great newer ones, like "Goodnight Punpun". I'll try to continue to episode 16 and if I decide to drop I'll skip to 19 & 25.

I saw Ghost Hound, but it was so long ago. Forgot how deep it was. But if you like manga, I recently read "Homunculus" and that was awesome! Really weird though too

Best anime I've seen are probably Clannad, Aria, Monster, and Higurashi. As for manga, I think it's Tokyo Ghoul C:

No problem. Thanks for accepting my request!
As for your questions, well I'll be happy to answer them
1. My favorite genres are Shounen Manga. Yes, you might not be a huge shounen fan or anything, but when a Shounen Battle Manga is done right, you can really see the characters grow throughout the series. Not to mention, some of my favorite manga are Shounen, Like Jojo and Saint Seiya.
I also tend to like psychological series such as Parasyte and Gantz, but right now, I'm not planning to write one of them.
As for my disliked genres, they'd have to be Slice of Life, Romance and Comedy. All 3 just bore me if the story isn't moving along at a steady pace, and that's pretty much the reasoning.
2. There are many Mangaka that act as inspiration toward me, but if I'd have to name a few I'll go with Hirohiko Araki (Jojo), Kurumada Masami (Saint Seiya) and Takei Hiroyuki (Shaman King). All 3 of these Mangaka do an amazing job at developing characters in intense story lines filled with battles and it's something that I can appreciate as a Manga reader.

Hope that answered your questions. If you have anything else, feel free to let me know either on my page, or through skype.
Thanks!

I'm not against episodic stories, but I do like when they have some continuity. I loved Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and Mushishi for examples (while Mushishi is the most detached episodically). It also has to do with the show itself.
And ya lol "karma's a bitch" is basically what I got from this so far. I find it odd that the devils seem to be working for justice in some way, but both parties get screwed in their deals anyways, and they always deal with moody teens who can't know better. But ya, probably just not my thing. I'll give it a few more episodes though to make sure. I always expected the show to be really psychological from the promotional art

I plan to watch Death Parade at some point. Is it dubbed yet? And if u don't remember, you actually gave Hell Girl a 9, so is Death Parade not better?
BlokeTokes Apr 28, 2016 12:38 PM
Hey, was wondering what you though was great about Hell Girl? I usually look at friend's scores and you tend to be right on with me, but this show's definitely the biggest disparity. I've only seen 7 eps but am close to dropping. Does a story develop over the 3 seasons that's engaging? I find that the episodic stories are too short to build characters enough to care for them, and many personalities are too extreme to be relatable enough to care as-well. No lessons are learned at the end either as villains are, as another said, basically "mustache-twirlers".
