Kanon Kazahana

Kanon Kazahana, or the 'aftermath episode' is just that. It is a simple conclusion to the great story told in Kanon; Though not entirely necessary, it is not a bad watch. It offers a more 'happy' ending to Kanon, and though I was satisfied with the treatment of some of the characters, I was at times questioning this episode's intent. It almost weakened the emotional punch of the series. The art quality and music have not changed, and the characters have changed little since the first time we meet them.

Kanon Kazahana is simply enjoyably, nothing spectacular, but worth cheeking out if you throughly enjoyed Kanon. If you found the series too bleak and melancholic, this special may give you a deeper sense of hope. Or you may feel it tries to 'soften' up Kanon too much. I was truly excited when I saw that this was a continuation into the spring after the winter in Kanon. However, I watched the 2006 version of the series. I noticed this was released before that and thought that maybe it wouldn't matter because it's the storyline I really want to know about, not the graphics, sound, etc.

I hate to say this, being related to Kanon, but it didn't live up to my expectations. It wasn't much of a sequel as it is simply revealing events that weren't shown during the original series. Even then, it's only during one day.

For those that haven't seen the 2006 version, you should be somewhat satisfied with this. As for the others that have, it really isn't worth the time to find and download. read more
