Tall girls with long, straight black hair can't be beat for elegance. As for Isuzu the most riveting episode in GuP wasn't the tank battles it was Hana confronting her mother. I think I forgot to breathe for 15 sec watching that scene. Still brings chills. When quieter, polite girls suddenly get serious and confrontational for a change it really grabs one's attention.

Sachiko was drawn better in the manga/LN than in the anime I thought. More expressive eyes (rounder, less squished). Plus the noses are more realistic looking for all the characters. Not that the pointy noses in the anime are bad per se because it's just a style of character design of that time in anime and has nostalgia going for it. Same with the early-2000's overly large eyes. If Marimite ever got a re-boot I'd like to see those two things "upgraded" a bit lol.

Most of the other main characters I like the anime version better: Shimako, Sei, Rei.

Gotta run, I'll check back in a few hours (don't trust MAL for when I'm on or not as I have the site "up" whether I'm around or not lol).

Likewise I'm happy to find another Marimite fan. So glad you commented in the forum on Marimite.

Yeah and Girls & Panzer, too. That show got me back into anime after a long hiatus (hence Anzu for an avatar, etc). I didn't discover Marimite until a few years later. It was in my PTW for ages little did I know my future #1 was sitting collecting electronic dust in there all that time. But “All’s well that ends better.” — Hamfast Gamgee (Lord of the Rings).

Btw, Todou Shimako is possibly the most beautiful anime girl in existence and Mamiko Noto's voicing of her is perfection. But I probably don't have to convince you of that :)
