Wat? 2? This is a very nostalgic series for me lol, never know that they made a sequel.

As for the rest, nothing catches my interest. I noticed that some of the 5-going-to-be-animated LN are doing very well, though.

Happy about this! I got the LE (+ DVD OAD) but since the BDs never ranked I assume the LE was a low seller, didn't rank?

Looks like the Mondaiji volume 8 LE didn't rank either. I got mine already (+ BD OAD) but the RE didn't ship until the 31st so I will see it next week. Currently #4 rank on Amazon so I hope it did well.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Historical moment, manga list on time!
Thanks Snowical, good to see you back.

Shingeki no Kyojin finally fell out of top30 but should stay in top50 for next few weeks considering it continues to sell above 30k. Next week all volumes will be above 1.4M, amazing.

Giant Killing! Woohoo! I'm really happy Japan likes this manga. Hopefully we'll get another anime, maybe it will boost manga sales even more?

Plus it's about time for Vinland Saga to get an anime. How awesome would that be?

But I doubt most people will watch it, especially the OVA containing the 23.5 chapter.

Doesn't change that it's still a potential cash cow. Really, with manga sales like this, it could just as easily sell much more than that now.

Well, it could sell more but I doubt it will get anywhere near Manabi Line. Still, anime should be successful because of likely manga boost - the only concern is, how big would it be? I bet author wishes for another season but studio is busy doing other stuff. Or maybe they're waiting for manga to end? There is more than enough material after all...

I don't think Yukimura liked seeing his work get butchered in the anime "adaptation" of his last work. I really doubt we'll see a Vinland Saga even though I would love to see at least the 'Prologue' animated.

I'd also totally be for another season of Giant Killing. Isn't it about time ETU went on a winning streak?

18, **7,374 **7,374 Rokka no Yuusha Vol.4

This is all that count o/

Rokka no yuusha placed third in the last kono light novel wa sugoi's ranking right after SAo and Index, not because it was popular but because the people in the LN industry voting pushed it there. It's like, what, ten times better than the two novels ranked above it.

looks like I'm not the only one who got the memo about this being awesome and started reading it.
Looking forward to read this 4th volume, best LN I've read so far.

A teaser was translated on baka tsuki here, http://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=5656 , there isn't even a need to register in order to vote, and if that novel gathered enough vote it would probably have been picked up by a translator already, but seems like people are blind and want ecchi stuff translated instead. Well, keep being blind, while me and at least around 10k (it seems?) peoples are freaking enjoying this LN x].

I wasn't expecting it to be ranked in the oricon chart, I guess that the fact that it was published 2 weeks after the novels of dengeki bunko allowed this to happen.

Well, I blame the bland short synopsis released by super dash bunko for the low sales at the beginning. It totaly makes you believe that this is completely classical and without interest. Well thanks to this this was a really good surprise. x]

The voting in "Kono Light Novel wa Sugoi" is not done with the people in the LN industry, but by readers polled on the Internet.

There's three categories of voters, not two. And the third is people of the industry. Rokka no yuusha was pushed by that category of voters essentially:

IIRC, it works like this :
points for rokka no yuusha :
Magazine Readers : *12.91
people of the industry : 106.52
readers on the internet : **2.00

As a comparison, points for Index :
*84.08
**6.52
*71.00
(same order)

See the difference? Index is here almost only by the customers, whereas Rokka wouldn't even be ranked with just them.

Yeah 100k would be nice but that's too much to ask for ^^".
I'm not sure that that LN would sell well as an anime though. The design of the characters aren't really manga-esque, as well. Well, I would like to see it as well as long as the anime follows the LN, but considering the fact that the manga adaptation doesn't follow very well the LN...

BTW, on the manga side of the oricon chart, akame ga kill ranking was nice too.

Giant Killing doesn't deserve those sales such a lame show

I assume that you are not a big fan of football, because any fan of the game will not say such a think.
I watched a decent amount of sports shows like : Slam Dunk where the main focus in the anime was on Hanamichi Sakuragi and other players and Shohoku team won the tournament. Kuroko no Basket the main focus was on Tetsuya Kuroko, Taiga Kagami and "The miracle generation". Hajime no Ippo the main focus was on Makunouchi Ippo, Takamura Mamoru and his friends. One Outs the main focus was on Tōa Tokuchi...I think you can see the pattern in these shows ?? the focus only on one or couple players, what about the Coach ?? the fans ?? the problems between the fans and the club or the Coach ?? and the problems between the players ?? Giant Killing as a sport show gives you all that, the unique thing about it that they focus on the Coach Tatsumi Takeshi then the players, the fans, the problems and the whole, in short its a whole package. its not a" lame show " as you said.

It's Mikagura School Suite, actually.

Nevertheless, I'm really pleased that this ranked at #8! Not as high as Shuuen no Shiori and nowhere near Kagerou Days, but still.

Well thanks to this this was a really good surprise. x]

I'm really interested in this novel and really want it adapted into an anime. Looks very intriguing.

There's three categories of voters, not two. And the third is people of the industry. Rokka no yuusha was pushed by that category of voters essentially:
I misunderstood what you said. I thought you meant to say that the poll was done only by people of the industry. My bad.

Typo corrected.

Tbqh, I haven't seen many novels that actually got picked up a translator just because they got a lot of votes in a poll. Most of the translation projects on B-T seem to start because someone decided to translate a novel they have already read, not because they noticed that there is a lot of demand for a certain novel.

I'm not that familiar with baka tsuki as I usually buy what I read (at least as far as novel/light novel are concerned), I mainly know this site from people around me go there in order to read LNs; but for what I saw the series picked up recently which had a teaser were series with far FAR more voters in the teaser thread's poll than rokka no yuusha's poll in average. So I would say that the number of voters at the very least plays a part in the translator's decision. Obviously, anyone would rather spend time translating something wanted that something no one is interested in.

Well, obviously as well, I don't think translator are going to translate something they aren't interested in themselves; but on that point there's no real problem here. I mean, to find someone dissatisfied after reading rokka no yuusha on the internet, it takes quite a while. I spent time reading lot of reviews about rokka no yuusha on different japanese websites ( big ones like amazon as well as small websites), and almost everyone praise it, it's not just people of the industry (and that what finally decided me to buy them, didn't regret it at all :3 ). So I still think that the lack of interest from the baka tsuki users is for a lot in the fact that it never passed the status of teaser as a project. I may be wrong though :>.

giant killing is one of those rare sports shows where its actually about the passion and love for the sport that prevails ...

come on guys , shonen powerups in battle anime is one thing and "double-dragon-bending-shoot", "eagle-claw combo", " hidden pass", "hawk-eye-vision" in sports anime is another ...these "combo" things doesn't go with sports...

giant killing is all about a football brains food and you can see the love for soccer in every minute of it...just try first 5 mins you will get what am saying.... it deserves a 2nd season ...hell this is one sports anime that reminds me of slam dunk as a matter of fact...
