I'm not hater of the anime, heck for now I've liked more episodes than disliked, and with the rise of activity in music, it's going in an even better direction IMO; but what the heck? If you're gonna say something, say something that's actually productive and brings something to the topic, not something that points out the negative aspects of yourself. Here it is kids, saying "azu-nya" like everyone else doesn't make you any cooler than others. I thought people knew that by now, but here's a new character that's loli-moe and people's IQs drop to a newly discovered negative amount. (^The azu-nya spam in some cases was taken care of, but I'll just let this be; those that aren't concerned shouldn't mind, and those who are might actually take better actions next time, and not try to come up with ways to flame instead of doing something more productive with his/her time. Everyone wants to enjoy anime, we're all in the same boat, but a lot of us just have to palm-face everytime a new K-on ep is out even if we liked it, because we know how overhyped it'll get. It's nothing new, we've seen it with azumanga, haruhi, TTGL, but staying indifferent is the best way to worsen it. No need to tire yourself with things like "It's always been like this, just ignore it and enjoy your anime anyway." or "trend-followers, w/e". I can do that perfectly, but sometimes I feel like I can turn some poor souls in the proper direction; although it rarely happens. This new opportunity gave me the small boost to do it for once though.) ^Reading this is optional. It might urge some of you to react stupidly, and that wouldn't be a proper attitude, now would it? Anyway, episode was good, and as I said in the first page, Azusa + guitar was pro to see. Plus she has the same guitar (almost) as a miku background pic I have, which makes it even better. | Azusa will prove to be a nice asset to the band. Funny how Yui is still the only member who technically has no clue how her guitar works, yet plays it well nonetheless. Best moments: - Yui faking backache when learning of Azusa's awesome skills (which the girl herself seems to be largely unaware of). - The cat ears and Mio secretly trying to put them on when noone was watching - Ritsu blackmailing Mio - Yui needing cake to play - Azusa getting mad and Yui hugging her to calm her down - The first time she actually plays with the entire band. I like how they modified the OP to put Azusa in and even remixed the music, though I guess it'll take some time before she'll be accepted as full-fledged band member. |

| My new favourite member, due to the fact that she's actually more serious about the club. I mean, a little bit of messing around is ok, but half the episode of it? The ending made up for it, but still, I hate to say this but I didn't enjoy the episode as much as the previous ones. I found myself being impatient with Yui and wanting them to get some actual hard practise down. I really hope that next weeks episode will be full of practise, instead of eating cake and (whats that I hear about cabbage?). But, I don't think it'll happen. I loved K-ON! from the first episode, but now I'm starting to doubt, sadly :( |
| Wow, Azusa's fanclub already has 233 members.. Too bad she's almost like Mio's twinsister.. More music please. I thought their dream was to perform at a large gig, but with only 4 episodes left? Hoping for a second season then. |

Oi sir you are thinking too seriously. Personnaly I don't care much about Azusa and I did followed the Azu-nyan meme. I prefer arguing on thing when people are serious about what they think than with moe-blob fan. K-on character are cliche in their genre: Ritsu the annoying, Yui the air-head, Mugi the carefree and Mio the scared girl. There's a little difference between Mio and Azusa and is that Mio is really scared and shy of everything and that Azusa is a 'normal' girl who is a bit shy but not too much. I know a lot of people that if they would get treated as Azusa got would be shy or a little scared. It's just that blending with a group of idiot her normal shyness look extreme when it's completely normal. You can't be original about a character except changing the detail who make their live but you can be original on the character development (Which K-on lack... Well a good for a bad since they have a chance to pull of something at least decent). K-on is overrated I agree with that but even tough I like it enough to give it a 10 (Well I give a 10 to almost any show anyway so it's not like I think of it as higher as a lot of thing ...). Last point: If you want music watch another show or just listen to it... A lot of anime revolve about music even if it's not always around a band ;). I just hope that some people just don't take me too seriously as well like some like to do... Not because I write a wall of text about something that I'm totaly serious about it -.-. | The jokes are definitely getting old. I did like the Azu-nyan drama part. That gave her character a bit of "depth" in regards to her parent's influence and how she really wants to join a "real" band. They need to get down to business though, but next episode seems like another slice of lifey one, which I'm okay with because that's my favorite genre. I would still like to see some actual music playing though. Hoping the last 4 episodes won't disappoint. |

Here's the thing, I don't mind cliche when there is something different or interesting done to twist it up, or if the interactions between all of the characters is something special. Moreover, I expect a lot of moe pandering from KyoAni, but I also expect a lot of content (Haruhi and Lucky Star...both of which I have rated at a 9). But lately, with Clannad and Munto TV, they seem to be relying only on moe to cover up bad storytelling, or just blandness, which is the case here. I'd be glad to discuss the lack in differences between Yui and Ritsu, because besides the slight difference that Yui can pick up anything she tries to, they are exactly the same. There are a couple of archetypes that they are absolutely missing if they felt like being pandering...I just don't really understand why they thought it was a fine idea to have two pairs of practically the same characters, and then have Mugi who gets next to no screentime. About music shows, if you have any you'd like to recommend me, I'd be glad to watch it (barring it's a bad show of course), but I've been aching since Macross F ended. I loved the music from Nana, Nodame Cantabile, and to a lesser extent, Beck, but honestly, there aren't that many good shows centered around music (I've seen Gravitation, and I'm sure I'm missing a few other ones that I've watched). It is ultimately a case of disappointment from not getting what I expected (and I've voiced that before), but also it's an incredulous reaction to those who really think this show is something grand. |
