THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Insert of Nanairo Button on the radio when Haruka is in the car. It's cute how she hums along. Everyone is training. Haruka visits Kotori in the office...it seems like she's the only one who ever comes in anymore. I really like seeing all of the posters and ads that all the idols are on, they're getting really popular. Haruka is watching a performance of "i".

Insert of Little Match Girl with dancing! I really love this song. It fits as Yukiho's single. It was kind of short, but still nice to see it animated. Then their variety show gets shut down. ;_; Haruka is getting really depressed. I don't like seeing her like this, she's always so cheerful and kind. She lies to Producer saying she's fine, but almost falls into a hole on the stage, Producer catches her but falls in himself...and the episode cuts off. Wow. Bad end? It shows Miki, Kotori, Ritsuko, and Haruka waiting in the hopsital...with Haruka crying. ;___;

The producer made a near fatal sacrifice to save Haruka from certain death. What an end, although I doubt this will be a bad end, it can certainly be adverted if Maji Koi is any indication.

OMG, not only the overall atmosphere of the episode was so depressive, the ending was quite unexpected...

I seriously don't think Producer-san suffered any life-threatening injury from the fall (probably just some bone fractures that requires surgery), but it's going to be quite terrifying traumatic experience for poor Haruka...

The show's just been getting even more depressing every week, I knew it was going to be about Haruka suffering, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. As worse or probably worse than Chihaya's suffering.

... The ending left me speechless O.o. That was the last thing I expected to happen.

Instead of being Chihaya is suffering, maybe it should be being Haruka is suffering instead o.o.

I've been thinking this for a while... but Miki really needs to read the atmosphere a bit more. Such as when Yukiho was struggling to dance, and Miki says I can still dance faster though.... The producer was on the phone when Miki asked about RK. Haruka's noticeably depressed face while talking to the producer this episode.

Will Haruka be lashed out by the others? Pitied? Or supported (most likely by Chihaya)?

I am not happy with Miki interfering with Haruka and Broducer's moment. She doesn't read the mood.

I think Miki just lost bunches of fans as she indirectly contributed to Haruka & Producer's misfortune... Doing things just what she wants to do wasn't a big problem back in the day when she was seen lazy and somewhat innocent character, but now the hardworking Miki is seen as self-centered character who only seems to care about herself and the producer in 765 production...

I think the next episode would focus on Miki realizing her fault (if she doesn't, she's going to end up as dumbest character after president Kuroi...) and cheering up Haruka to overcome the trauma (possibly along with Chihaya's help).

Hopefully, the animation series will conclude with the three characters forming a idol unit together (without the help of Producer-san of course, who will probably in wheelchair) that would become the "top idol" unit and emphasizing the importance of "unity" (Tanketsu), which is the main theme of IDOLM@STER 2 video game.

I'm more worried that Miki will actually blame Haruka for the Producer's accident... Rather, I'm finding it hard to predict what Miki will do. She's usually straightforward, for the most part kind, can't read the atmosphere 90% of the time (okay, I'm exaggerating but still, she can't seem to read it in the most important times)... But because she's so straightforward, she might say hurtful things (to Haruka) outright without thinking it through (such as with Yukiho in episode 11 I think).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things to add... If you haven't seen the Tonari ni video of Azusa + Producer, this might be a semi-spoiler, since it seems pretty official?

I found the changes in Haruka's expressions rather interesting
Here's a chronological compilation of Haruka throughout this episode.

The loneliness really seeped through as there consistent shots with her alone in the midst of a dark background. She lightly knocked her head three times in order to try to cheer herself up. But after each time she did, she was left with more bad news one after another. The more she forces her smile, the more her smile fades with attempt. Near the end, her forced smiles aren't even reaching her eyes anymore.

The shots of how empty and dark the rooms are really attributed to how much things have changed from how the 765 productions was like in the beginning.

Even when Namasuka? Live was going to be stopped, everyone else was managing smile through it, but the most optimistic, Haruka, can't even force a smile at all at that point. Like Chihaya said the last episode, Haruka is the one who treasures the time everyone spends together the most. Unfortunately, the more popular they become as idols, the more it continues to break Haruka in the long run.

Now that would put Miki in a really bad light if she really goes over that line and does anything unforgivable even if the series ends with a happy ending, unless the script writer has some kind of grudge against her. In the worst case, she might say something careless that might hurt Haruka's feeling even more, but I don't think she has any malicious intent against her.

Oh, by the way, I think there's a good chance that Touma from Jupiter might give a funeral hospital visit to the Producer, since he still owes him a favor as he was forgiven for what he has done under Kuroi.

Also, there's still the wallet that she needs to give to the Producer as a present, which pretty much guarantees that everything is going to work out nicely at the end. :)

I think lots of attention was paid to this particular episode, because it's so crucial for the plot. The overall quality of character drawing was also much better compared to the last week's episode.

This episode could probably called "The Melancholy of Amami Haruka". Haruka's character really shone here. I like that they're portraying her as a vulnerable character instead of someone who isn't fazed by any challenge thrown at her.

Also, the Yukiho/Haruka/Makoto trio returns. It was glorious.

Bad ENDING!!!!

Ok not really even so the end was a shock, the Broducer risking his life for Haruka...more traumas for already break Haruka also this episode i liked it a lot,the photo was nice showing all the changes on 765 life was very well done specially as some already said the dark shots.

This episode really make me kinda hate Mikki not only she getting in the middle of a conversation, her lines specially when she said they shouldn't work together...what A BIT...

Next episode we get more drama and Emo Haruka lets see how they make this end happy ever after.

This was the most depressing episode yet. I really felt sorry for Haruka throughout this episode. Everyone is so busy now that they don't have time for her.

But with that said as a Yukiho fan I really loved her performance at Little Match Girl. I hope this means a m@ster version of it soon. XD

On another note, Miki seriously needs to quit acting so selfish. Liked I said in the previous discussion this is why I have started liking Miki less and less throughout the show. Like when she said that "I'm gonna get the lead role no matter what" or something like that. Believe it or not she was in my top 3 heading into anim@s but with her selfish attitude she has fallen off of that list.

Anyway, the ending of the episode was really depressing when the producer fell off the stage trying to save Haruka. So now it looks like Haruka has fallen into depression. :(

Miki's inability to read the mood, being selfish, and being self-centered is making her less likable.

Also Miki is also a contributing factor of why Haruka is even more depress in depress state. Saying she won't let Haruka have the position of lead role. I know she has a point there, since they're both competing, but it can't help but make her condition worse.

Seeing little match girl was great to see even for the short time thought.

Also, if Producer's injuries, assuming it wasn't serious. Why did the doctors send him to the operating room?

But considering how precious Producer is to Miki, it wouldn't be strange for Miki to possibly lash out on Haruka... When these type of things happen, people tend to become mentally unstable and start to point fingers without consideration. Even more so when the person is important to them. While Miki may not have had any malicious intent, she might hold a grudge against Haruka for what happened to the Producer. But I'm pretty cynical to begin with, so I might be over thinking it.

How would Touma know Producer is in the hospital? O.o Though I've got to admit, it would be pretty interesting. If Touma comes into the picture, maybe he will be able to push Haruka a bit (that might explain why Haruka possibly ran into him a couple of times, first individually, second with Yayoi).

xD Don't forget the the last live! Hope we get an awesome scene! ^^

I don't think there was anything with Miki saying she wanted get the part... It's pretty natural... It's just that, is it really that wrong to say to do their best together (as in fighting for the against each other in the best of their abilities) while competing with each other?

Other than that, I believe the part that irks people the most is when Miki interrupted an important discussion between the Producer and Haruka regarding to her depression. There could've been a more better time to talk to the Producer. The accident could've been prevented for the most part, since we saw Haruka was about to say what was she was depressed over, but changed her mind and decided to keep it to herself after Miki interrupted. The discussion between Miki and the Producer gave Haruka to rethink over and decide not to trouble the Producer, since Haruka believes that she is just being "selfish" by wanting to be with everyone again.

On another note, is it really that normal for idols to be selfish? I would have thought that that job would require quite an amount of selflessness, since you are selling yourself as an image to the audience. If you become selfish on the job, you would probably lose it... But then again, Miki is pretty talented all around, so she would probably get off without much issues ^^'... Either way, being selfish is probably a trait that a handful of people won't like regardless of whether it's to expected from an idol.

Well, the accident happened in public with the presence of musical staffs and there's a good chance that the news will get leaked when the Producer-san is producing 9 idols who recently gained significant popularity.

I'd like to point out that Miki's "selfish" trait is considered normal in the world the idols, but the strength of 765 production idols was helping each other (and sometimes even sacrificing themselves) when they're in need of help and that's they stood out from other production companies. Besides, I think that concept was the theme of pretty much every episodes in the IM@S anime series..

Agreed. She stands out as the one idol out of all 12 of them that's completely and utterly selfish. Everyone else at least tries to keep an adequate amount of camaderie and friendship. If Haruka had been competing against Chihaya I'm sure Chihaya would have nodded back at Haruka's words and agreed to try her best no matter who gets the role. They are friends after all. But no, Miki just wants to impress her Honey.

Personally, my problem with her in this episode wasn't about the fact that she wanted the lead role - that's natural. My problem was the fact that she treated Haruka as if she were just a rival, and not her friend. It's possible to support each other and still compete for the same goal... :/

And that is why, overall, I hate Miki. Not that she wants to 'be the best' - it's the fact that she acts like an entitled brat and 'it's ok' because she's 'cute'. The fanbase arguing that her behavior is natural in her profession doesn't help, either.

Like Leon-Gun said - if it was Chihaya that Haruka was working with, she would have agreed and been a supportive friend while they both did their best to try and snag the lead.

I don't hate Miki that's her personality, you can't just simple changed the way she is.

Haruka such a sweet girl but sure can feel lonely sometimes, if she had someone important person that care for her and she could talk with she probably will feel better, but now Producent-san fall down she going to feel even worst and believe all was her fault.
She quit idol and can't force to smile anymore.
Probably in the end of next episode it will solved again.

Come on in the previous it's only show 3 scenes.
