You people need to STOP and THINK.

The lot of the people making these threats are basically the "Kosudas" in real life. The fact that he didn't succeed in getting any (from Yamada or any other girl) when the show ended was destructive to these "Kosudas." So of course a crapstorm would ensue.

And crapstorms don't happen too often: The complaint over "virginity" with Kannagi's Nagi, Hyakko and Gundam 00, voice actress Aya Hirano... But I guess the main argument from some otaku-base is mainly about "purity."

But hey. Whatever. I watch STRAIGHT-UP ADULT ANIME. The REAL STUFF, not that membertease bullcrap the vocal animu otaku like so much.

And yet anime like Queen's Blade gets FAN MAIL.

What the hell is wrong with people. It's because Yamada is female who knows what she wants-- God forbid a Japanese girl says she wants to have sex!

I totally agree with what most people have said so far. These are probably hardcore feminists and are overreacting about a show about a girl who wants to have '100 sex partners'. I fairly certain the creator/s of the show/manga did not have the intention of putting across all girls are sluts on their minds. It's just, some people take it that way. Some girls are, and loads aren't as well. The point is, IT'S AN ANIME, A TV SHOW. IT IS NOT REAL. Some people take these things way too seriously. >.>

Not really,if it were feminists or anyone bashing on the show for morality, they would have rather gone all out on something like Queen's Blade first.I'm inclined to think that this the repeat of those Kannagi and whatever-it-was-called manga incidents.

I really liked this show and thought that her thoughts and actions were actually pretty typical of a lot of girls. I know my friends and I would talk similiar to that in high school (we never ended up doing it though)

Ditto. Typical knee jerk reaction.

Meh. Why bother with those "people". They're not even humans, I presume. Just a bunch of fools.

I enjoyed the show as much as we who did watched it.

I like how people assume they know the reason for the threatening letters.

Maybe the letters were demanding that Yamada be made a lesbian.

Staunch feminists would probably demand an outright cancellation instead of asking for changes to the content/presentation throughout the show's run. I find it unlikely that they would follow the series week by week either.

I don't think it's opposition to the premise either ("100 fuck buddies"), otherwise the viewer would just ignore the show. Kannagi was a different situation because the character of Nagi had become so popular throughout the run, and viewers were shocked by such a revelation. In B Gata H Kei, Yamada's libido and attitudes toward sex are established from the start. The viewer knows what he's getting into.

My guess is that the person was either opposed to adaptation changes (the manga was even dirtier, particularly with regard to Yamada's frequent masturbation) or the direction of the story, which always resulted in Kosuda's failure to succeed (or maybe even Yamada's failure if the viewer wanted to see numerous guys getting it on with her).

I watched every episode of B gata H kei and I didn't see any good reason it would make people mad. I know for a fact that even lots of girls enjoyed it.

Must either be a joke, idiots who didn't actually watch the show, or the typical bottom of the barrel otaku rage that happens every once and while. I'm glad the production committee didn't give into the threats.

Either way, I don't think anything will come of this incident.

On a side note.. this is quite a advertise news for series popularity. i think that's why they added it on official website.

MAL, ANN and all other anime communities are commenting on this and series will get more viewers + dvd sales.

I say people, what is up with the general consensus here. The only post I saw that had a clear thought about it said that the letter was probably sent by a guy who related with the lead male, a male who didn't get to have sex in the end. That would pretty much explain why the letter was sent after the final episode. I don't know much about feminist, and I won't pretend I do; but I'd imagine that if they did want to change something, it would have been done during the process, through use of boycotts and so forth. Not to forget that there are anime far more... questionable than this one, as people have mentioned before.

Nevertheless, this is hardly a surprise. It wouldn't be the first time a producer realized a threat for the way an anime ended, check Hideaki Anno's wiki page.

I am a feminist, and I was actually glad that they made something like B Gata H Kei. Do you even know what a feminist is...?

I'm actually more inclined to think it's a loser chauvinist who is mad about girls even WANTING to have sex. God forbid a girl in anime wants sex that isn't rape...
