I need a couple more suggestions for the theme of this 'club'. Does anyone else know of any other weird or visually appealing anime?
Anything would be appreciated.

kemonozume had a nice gritty style

windy tales was great if a little cutesy, and it was about kids with god-like powers

Even though it screws with my beliefs of the generic genre, Windy Tales does look like a different breed of animation. And that is what this club is all about.

Neo Tokyo: Labyrinth
Neo Tokyo: Running Man
Neo Tokyo: The Order to Stop Construction

I think those should be included..yes? They're from Meikyû Monogatari aka Manie Manie: The Labyrinth Tales.

I dunno... Mononoke is kind of pushing it.
But I'll add it anyway. We need all the stuff we can get.

Why is Mononoke 'pushing it'? It's as unusual as you can get. One of the best , too. But yeah, I'm partial. =P

No no, Mononoke is perfect for this.

Aaah! Let me explain.
I thought she was talking about Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke. That was the first thing that came to my mind.
I was obviously being stupid. The Mononoke you guys are talking about is perfect.

Heyas! just joined this club,
I'm currently watching Texhnolyze, it should be here. Just watch the first ep, you'll see what i mean, it is unusual. I'll write something about it when i'm done with, but for now just trust me and give it a try if you're looking for an escape out of the evil cookie-cutters of hell ! x_O

I've been watching a lot of weirdness lately (mostly Studio 4°C stuff) and figured Noiseman Sound Insect would fit in here nicely.

Weird stuff is my forte. ;) Some other titles you guys could add are:

Midori
Kanashimi no Belladona
1001 Nights (Yoshitaka Amano version)
King of Bandit Jing
Ping Pong
Dokkoida
Robot Carnival
Spring and Chaos
Red Garden
Sexy Commando
Revolutionary Girl Utena

Everything on here is spectacular. But Utena just seems a bit too normal, strange as it may be.
And I totally forgot about Red Garden. The art wasn't too weird, but the fact that all the characters look like men won me over.

More Studio 4°C weirdness in the shape of Kung-Fu Love and how about Glassy Ocean, very calm but certainly different.

I agree completely agree with JNSky over 1001 Nights and Kanashimi na Belladonna, but not about Utena or Red Gardden - Princess Tutu is more unusual by a wide margin than those two. If we're talking mainstream, Baccano! also generally fits better.

Also, Ayakashi ~Japanese Classic Horror~ and Mononoke.

There really TONS of manga that are unusual, really. Counting short stories, it'll easily reach hundreds.

Please, for the love of God, list any manga you know. Unless it's Junji Ito, manga isn't my strong point.

I think MPD Psycho manga is unusual enough..
That also goes for Shadow Star manga through you would have to decide if the most of the times pretty normal style is enough to push it down to 'not fitting in here'.

But thank you.

And a big hearty bellow of appreciation goes to everyone else. Seriously, this club would still suck if it weren't for people's suggestions.

Please add the manga Rabuyan! that is THE most bizzare, funny manga ever created. It's about a cupid angel sent to earth to help a loli-con/otaku/freeloader...so goood.
The art is spectacularly bad, but somehow fits with the story perfectly.

I would like to ask for the addition of these 2 animes:

Fantastic Children
Kurau Phantom Memory

both of which I think have a very unique and deep plot but are unfortunately very underappreciated

hi^^ nice club-
but i'm wondering why no one's mentioned FLCL, both the manga & adaptation?
also akira, ghost in the shell, and metropolis? classic weirdness

here's some more: end of the world, extra {studio 4c amv), ichi the killer, miyuki-chan in wonderland, karas, parasite dolls, memories (magnetic rose is def worthy)

in manga, yuria type 100 is similar to my balls in ways- it's damn funny

weirdness is what i look for, so if you like these titles i can give some updates later

To gINGEr and Mysty_Day-

I didn't really want to add the "classics" when I first started this club because, well, everyone knows them and I wanted this club to be somewhere where you could find new things.
But now that we do have plenty of new things, I think it might be time to add them. (Finally.)

Also, I never really found Ghost in the Shell to be THAT unusual. Thought provoking, sure, but not wildly unusual in my eyes.

Also, thanks for those, gINGEr. I would have never found that cache of weirdness on my own.

Also, dongs.

Well, Higurashi not so much.
But the Utena movie is vissually one of the most bizarre eye-candy that you'll ever see (e.g. pink haired girl transforming into a car via car washer that comes out from nowhere).

Hmmm...

For Anime I would say "Neon Genesis Evangelion: The end of Evangelion"
http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=32
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that one yet...

For manga I'd say: "Elfen Lied"
http://myanimelist.net/manga/933/Elfen_Lied
It's similar to NGE... but it's more violent and the theme of it is also darker... It too has a point where you simply have no clue about what's going on! XD

There are so many things wrong with this...
I think I've already added all the NGE crap out there, but thanks if I missed a few things.
As for...(hoogh) Elfen Lied: I've read the manga and watched the anime, and...oogh, sorry, but I don't really want it in my club. Boobs+Gore+Generic Love Story does not equal DEEP or Unusual. The powers might be the only thing that might change my mind, but other than those invisi-hands, that series is almost as generic as you can get. It's the perfect example that those anime-hating groups would use about 10 years ago to get anime outlawed in America. Blood, Gore, Tits, and a little dash of science and love. I think it gives anime a bad name.

Er, sorry. I just have a big problem with that Elfen Lied. Could ya tell?

Yeah, but that's okay! XD

I really liked it... not for the blood, the naked girls, or the love story- but for all the random characters that just randomly appeared- then got decapetaded... O_o
I also found the fact that random horns growing out of peoples heads were a TAD BIT unusual... Don't you think? XDD
I agree that there were some parts of the manga that could be left without... ^_^;; *cough* *cough*
Though, I just found it appropriate for this club... afterall- It is not everyday some one melts and turns into a pile of goo for "overusing" their "special powers"... O_o
