Not so much a watcher, but a hoarder (thank you, OCD) . I also have a terrible habit of watching things half way through and then dropping them to go start something else up.
On a more positive note, I love animation as an artistic medium, and especially enjoy it when more artistic/surreal animation is featured. The weirder it is, the better in my book. With the advent of CG animation though, I feel that we're seeing less and less great art direction and more standardization in look and feel (especially in the American market). Anime is the last bastion of viable 2D animation now, but even there we're seeing more generic designs, especially because of the new moe trend...

Totally, totally agree! But, I think that there are still good independent animations (not animes) around the world.
It's so sad to see so much 3d animations and generic animations. It's so much better when there really is an "artistic" effort. Originality is my first criteria for a good anime.
I sent you an invitation for a club I just created about Surreal animation. Hope you accept! ^_^

Hey! I "followed" you from the Year 24 Group, and I can say that I whole-heartedly agree with you how it's a shame that animation is becoming more generic in appearance and feeling. I don't think many people truly appreciate what can be achieved with animation (and too many people are afraid to like or try anything that is different).

Yeah, the closest I can think of at the moment is Kaleidostar, also directed by Satou Junichi...but it doesn't have the whole fairy tale/fantasy thing going like Tutu did. Maybe the recent Gonzo version of Romeo and Juliet, but I couldn't get into that one for some reason. I remember seeing a feature film anime from the early 80's or such called the Legend of Sirius that was a fairy tale/fantasy which seemed lightly ballet-inspired, perhaps. Been so long now I can't say for sure though.

You're an American Muslim? Or are you originally Arab or something? I'm English. I've lived here for about 5 years now. Hahaha.
=)
24? Oooo you're old. I think I'm happy with my age, but I'm turning 19 soon so I'll have to go through the whole 'my age is fine, don't worry blablabla' thing all over again.
Oooh I'm tired... b

Wow I haven't heard of any of your favourite anime! Maybe Terra e, but still. And you're a collector of sorts? Lucky, I don't own one episode of anime. Physical anime anyway. I have a bit on my computer.
