Aside from the references, this anime isn't directly connected to the Final Fantasy V game. It takes place many years after the game, and though it is said that Linaly, the main female character, is a descendant of Bartz, this Bartz could very well be some random legendary hero.

There are job classes, though without the particular outfits and there are four crystals as in practically every Final Fantasy. The plot features the quest to protect the wind crystal after the others are stolen by a new enemy, a strange alien with advanced technology whose base is located in the black moon, a natural satellite of read more

I'm not going to do a full review on this because I got half way through and relised there was really nothing to it.

Theres a few simple catagories to this...

Did you play Final Fantasy 5...if no go to the next question...If yes, did you enjoy it?

If you did enjoy playing final fantasy 5, watch this, it's an additional extra to it.

If you didn't then don't consider this BUT, if you havn't even played final fantasy 5 but you like other final fantasies then I think you should give this a try...it's pretty much a continuation from final fantasy 5, would have alot more meaning if read more

If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you should watch both of these. Both are pretty childish but are still fun to watch. Unlimited has the awsome animation when Kaze uses his Magun and Legend of the Crystals has pretty bad animation for it was made in 1994. But both animes are pretty good! Final Fantasy: Unlimited - 25eps Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals - 4eps
