Recommendations

Both main female leads are domineering and somewhat naive gods, and both animes are slice of life.
report Recommended by Cyrius
Both are about a male finding a goddess, only they take place in completely different eras.
report Recommended by Em_Leingod
Both aired in Fall of 08 and have similar style comedy. While Kannagi has more ecchi and parody-centric comedy, Toradora is more slice-of-life/romantic comedy. Both animes are made great because of the characters.

well, shana has TONS of action, complex (overdramatic) storylines; whilst kannagi is much more relaxed with nothing much happening except everyday things, however the main male protagnists are extremely similar in that they seem quite laid back average, nothing-much-going-on guys, who by some odd reason gets chased by some girls.
report Recommended by sugarplumfairy
Both are about strange girls who appeared in main male charaters' life.
report Recommended by LeonDies
The feel this anime gives is somewhat similar to that of Wagaya, both involving the supernatural and there is humour injected in them.
report Recommended by v3ry1azY
Characters are drawn very similarly and there is a strong link with music in both, although much MUCH more obvious in K-ON!
report Recommended by Spades-Deuce
Yamamoto Yutaka, the director of this anime was also the director of Lucky Star(ep 1 - 4). and u can find Kannagi's style is very similar to that of Lucky Star.
report Recommended by shinchan
Both female protagonist are beings that are not human. The comedy in them is similar from time to time and the females are both kind of dim witted by the unfamiliarity of the human world
report Recommended by Hisashikun
In both series one of the main characters (Nagi/Yato) is minor god who tries to become more popular/revered.

when a shrine gets destroyed a deity/god gets thrown in to a human like body and ends up staying with a guy. as you could expect things dont goes easy for the guy his childhood friend gets jealous and a relationship starts to form between him and the deity/god thats more than that of just friends
report Recommended by patrat
Both have female leads with supernatural powers and have the male leads wrapped around their little fingers.
report Recommended by shinigamidono
A human protagonist, an un-human girl, the childhood friend and the side characters to make everything going. It has that whole summer rural feel too
report Recommended by HRinka
They both gave me the same feeling.Nagi acts like Murasaki at the start, asking how is that and expecting more, but starts warming up to the main character.
report Recommended by Yousei-tan
Both stories revolves around a blue haired female (or tentacles for Ika's case) whom have superiority complex issues and childlike behaviours due to the fact they both have flat chest, probably.
report Recommended by DangoSadge
almost identical laid-back atmosphere, concentrating on the way people life and their relations with each other. not much development in both, same kind of humour. also, nagi reminded me of kana

the sudden outbreak of monsters occurs in a certain town that people are not aware of. one day, a guy does something that coincidentally brings a girl to his world and her purpose is to hunt down those monsters. then, she stays at his house and to prevent any misunderstanding, she claims to be his sister but from another mother. also, the characters "Dianna" from "Kami nomi zo shiru sekai" and "Zange" from "Kannagi" are so similar in the fact that their both mystical creates that use a human girl as a vessel and help defeat that the monsters, and their vessels both love  read more

Well i can't say that they are very similar, storyline is totally different, although there's supernatural in both of them. But! when i saw street scenes in Kannagi i was reminded of Durarara.

Similarities: Both lead male characters were unlucky enough to partner up their lead female characters who were a pain in their ass. Both lead male character are compelled to do the lead female characters bid or at least get them out of a bad situation. Both lead male characters were once caught by mistake of being on top of their lead female characters. Dissimilarities: One is the sister of the lead male character while the other just pop out of no where (I just like saying that) and just appeared in front of the lead male character . One is a comedy/ harem while the other is a  read more

Humor is an essential piece in both series. Also, there are "Gods" in both anime which rustle the main characters lives. The Gods deliver both humor and an entertaining experience in both of the series since the other main human characters are forced to be with the God characters.

first of all, the fact that a girl came from another world and only remembers vague memories of her past, although they are different beings, their purpose is the same, to hunt down monsters. secondly, the main male character who takes responsibly and helps the girl to hunt and exorcise the monsters, and lets her stay with him. Also, the childhood friend that loves the main male lead. frankly, I'm surprised that nobody made this recommendation sooner
report Recommended by walloman
both are about a girl who suddenly appears and starts to live with the male lead also both include a childhood friends which are getting jealous dearS has more ecchi, though

I personally think that this is quite similar to Kannagi the fact that this anime is mostly about each characters trying to find there true self just like Kannagi e.g Nagi trying to find out the truth behind her self , Jin is also trying to find the truth behind Nagi aswell as for him self, Tsugumi wants to find out the true meaning behind her feelings for Jin and ect... As you can tell Kannagi has also quite a few of romantic scene well Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai has also quite a few of a romantic kind  read more

Both the anime have a normal guy taking care of god-like figures who have taken human form. Udon no kuni no kiniro kemari is about a guy taking care of a fox spirit while Kannagi is about a teenager taking care of a goddess.

Both have girls coming from an item, in Kannagi its the wood statue, in Tsugumomo it's an obi
report Recommended by gelidude
Both star a blue haired goddess who acts very ungodly. The male MC's have a similar look and character traits. The humor and lightheartedness of both shows are very reminiscent of one another.
report Recommended by munerajp
Both have demigod girls who have come to earth and interact with humans and their friends. Both have a melancholy undertone lamenting the world that is changing.
report Recommended by NoviSun
Both of these series are laid back tales of cute demi-god girls adopting normal guys and living their lives.
report Recommended by NoviSun
While both of these anime are quite different, I think the relationships between the leads have a similar feel. Production values in both are fantastic and both are just simple fun with a little bit of an emotional side.
report Recommended by ArcFloof
Both Kannagi and Kamisama ni Natta Hi feature a teenage boy suddenly meeting a girl claiming to be a god who goes to live with them.

Spirits and Gods - beings that exists in both series. On the surface, they give off a fantasy vibe with their perspective settings. We have a main character who meets a supernatural being. From that encounter, their life changes forever. At various cases, both Kannagi and Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha. explores the nature of spirits and Gods. They deal with the problems and co-existence in the human world. The characters provides diversity and through them creates relationships ranging from a variety of genres.
report Recommended by Stark700
Although they are not similar in premise, both series involves a supernatural being who sets foot in the modern world. They are confused on how the present world world works around them but gets more used to it as they experience the modern life. Both series has a lot of funny dialogues, gags, and interactions between the main characters. There's also some action, drama, as well as misunderstandings usually involving the main characters.
report Recommended by Stark700
Both main female characters were "born" as an object and hosted in the protagonist's house. Similiar humour and situations.
report Recommended by SanzuNoKawa
They're both by the same director to begin with, giving them a very similar feel. They both also have a girl with special powers of some sort, the full extent of those powers unknown, meeting up with the main character. They both also have rather good animation too. Kannagi is a slice-of-life anime though, while Fractale is a sci-fi in a fantasy like world that actually has a plot.
report Recommended by Fujaku
Both Female protagonist is a Goddess. Both Female Protagonist has a split personality and both male protagonist is helping the female protagonist. Both anime is about ghost spirits and deity and both are romance anime. The difference between these two anime is that kannagi is more on comedy and romance while RDG is more on drama and action.
report Recommended by bloody_Venus55
Although both series' settings are different, it features a similar theme in which the male protagonist meets a female protagonist who is sought to be different from others. Both series contains a lot of comedy, drama, and dialogue that mostly involves the two main protagonists. Both series has some supernatural themes in them and sometimes deal with conflicts involving other characters/events.
report Recommended by Stark700
Both shows are about a rather plain boy who is surrounded by a strange girl who just shows up in his life, his childhood friend who has a crush on him, and a very close but strange group of friends in which they make up a club at school. Both anime are ridiculously funny, very random, and deal with many elements of otakuism.
report Recommended by furizaa
Change the gods in Kannagi into mermaids, add a serious 'chivalry' obsession to Nagi, and you've got Seto no Hanayome. They are both hilariously wacky, have amazing character designs, and have very similar character personalities. There's the childhood friend, the bipolar idol, the crazily cute main, and other personalities you'll find in both animes. If you've seen one, I recommend watching the other right away!
report Recommended by Light4494
Both are comedic anime about a relantionship between a school boy and a supernatural girl
report Recommended by hajil
Both made by A-1 Pictures, they feature a similar type of quirky, lifelike animation in their first episodes. If you enjoyed Shingo Yamashita's animation, you may want to watch his other involvements. Obviously, Birdy has more action, whilst Kannagi is more realistic.
report Recommended by Denizen
Both involve deity/goddess that seem to interrupt a normal boy's life. They both are a romance comedy that will keep you entertained.
report Recommended by spineslayer
both are about goddesses. Both have very good sense of humour!! a must see!
report Recommended by Patty_chan
both main characters have very similiar characteristics :P both Nagi and Shinku are unusual characters and control a guy's life ... both amusing anime series!
report Recommended by Haruko-chan
Both main characters (Nagi and Kyouka) claim to be goddesses, yet in reality they remember little about their pasts.
report Recommended by Hanyuu33
Just randomly hilarious.
report Recommended by Playboy
exactly the same type of male protagonist. boring but kind, nothing-much-to-him. somehow lands himself a girl whos an alien/God, and hence elements of romance and comedy.
report Recommended by sugarplumfairy
Both shows deal with gods, the supernatural, and are most light fantasies with lots of humor. Yozakura Quartet also has action and battles, while Kannagi has more school life drama; but neither show takes itself to seriously. They are both fairly short (12 and 13 eps). Yozakura Quartet's plot is centered around the protection of a town that is normal, except that it is a haven for beings with supernatural powers who want to live in peace with humans. Kannagi is about Nagi, a self proclaimed kami who took the form of a girl when her sacred tree was carved by Jin, a very normal  read more

Both animes are romance comedies about a main girl and guy that have somewhat of a relationship together, and then another girl (Ayame is Asu no Yoichi, Tsugumi in Kannagi) that are in love with the main guy. Plus, both contain Haruka Tomatsu and Kana Hanazawa.

The crazy life of Japanese deities!
report Recommended by ZettaiRyouiki
Well in the story two people are living together not wanting other people to find about it or misunderstand and I guess rec is more romance and kannagi more comedy and the art is similiar
report Recommended by nejihyuuga19
Both have a very similar sense of humour and unresolved harem, but Kannagi has more of a storyline.

Kannagi is full of humor and so is SA. They both really make me laugh, and there are great personalities in both animes that you begin to like from the beginning. Both animes contains a group of friends but with most attention to one or two persons.
report Recommended by mittUPPEilivet
They are both really humoristic, sometimes perverted humor in different situations. Jin in Kannagi are a bit of a pervert, and so are the twins in ouran with their brotherly love. I really love the humor in both animes! they've got 10 points both from me! <3
report Recommended by mittUPPEilivet
Both funny anime that will make you laugh unlike some anime who just pretends or tries to be happy :))

Like in love hina, most of the char are in love with keitaro... in kannagi, most of the girls are in love with mikuriya jin

What I was thiking when I saw Kannagi it was Clannad. There are similar in way of live, love and school. hmmm maybe also in songs.
