Same sort of high school dating theme, similar art style, but bokura is a lot more serious.
Both are romance shoujo series which are funny but get serious at certain points.
A girl and a boy who falls in love, but there is always a problem between them. Both are Romantic comedies but Bokura Ga Ita is a more serious anime than Lovely Complex. I like serious stuff, but not too much. Therefore, I like Lovely Complex more.
The storylines are very similar, as is the animation. Even the two main characters seem to be very much alike.
Similar characters but not the same, rather Bokura Ga Ita (We were there) is a drama, romance, and comedy. Whereas Lovely Complex is a Comedy, Romance. LoveCom will make you cry in a happy way. In contrast, Bokura Ga ita will make you cry in a drama way. But both anime were awesome :D
Even though the moods are diametrically different the events run in a similar fashion and both series exhale the same aura. The main characters are also graphically similar.
I just finished lovely complex and while watching it I kept thinking of Bokura Ga Ita....The girls in both are hopelessly in love and the boys are completley oblivious and dense to their feeligns.
They both are about a girl who worked hard to get the guy their love. They're both shoujo and school life.
Otani closely resembles the main guy character in Bokura ga Ita "Yano". Though the genres are very different, the artwork is similar. If you liked Lovely complex, but want more of a sad and complicated anime I'd recommend this one. Also both deal with school life, but Bokura ga Ita doesn't have the light-hearted feeling that Lovely Complex does. It's still a great anime though =)
these two are painfully alike, the one difference that stands out is remarkably shallow: in lovely complex the girl is tall and the boy is short. that's pretty much the only notable difference.
Well... both main characters in both animes have red hair. Also at one point in both of the main girls has her heart torn by the main guy. They have a very similar plot, but just a warning: Bokura ga ita has one non-graphic sex scene in it.
Both story lines are very similar and both animes were fairly predictable.
The drawing styles are pretty the same and the story is about complicated love.
A love story between unusual kind of people and evrything that goes with it again...
Similar art, similar male lead, Bokura Ga Ita turns out to be way more serious than Lovely Complex, since this last one focus on the comedy more. Both are worth watching nevertheless
The Characters is a similarity <3
It's both a very lovely Romance story.
They have the same kind of drawing style.
The main characters do look alike, and are similar in some kind of ways too.
Bokura ga Ita is a more dramatic romance story though, while Lovely Complex is one with a lot of humor. Lovely complex has drama too, but it's a less sad story than bokura ga ita.
If you like one, I guess you would like the other too.
It's much better than Bokura Ga Ita...a lot more entertaining, but still has a cute love story.
It really the same, just lovely complex are more funnier
- Many jokes on both anime
- Both are shoujo romance genre (+drama and comedy, more comedy on Lovely Complex)
- High school theme on both anime
both anime has unrequited love, but Lovcom it's funier!
The characters are really alike, also the boy can be in the beginning very annoying but slowly you will begin to love them also.
BgI is more drama while LovCom is more focussed on Comedy.
Both are really great love romances.
The art is very similar, as well as the characters' appearances. However, the stories are both similar.
Both of the guys have ex girlfriends, who have an extreme impact in the story and the character's relationships. They both act cool and not serious at times, but they have another side to them as well.
The heroines are not similar in personality. The heroine in Lovely Complex is not as shy or quiet, while he heroine in Bokura ga Ita is more mature, but is naive when it comes to relationships at times.
Lovely Complex drags on a bit longer until they start dating, but Lovely Complex is a bit quicker, although in both stories, there are major relationship problems. For example, as usual, there is the other guy who likes the heroine, which obviously causes problems.
Both are great anime. I loved watching them, and although they are a bit different, they have the type of storyline I like. Bokura ga Ita is a bit more mature while Lovely Complex is more comedic.

Both are slow developing romances, but leave large impacts on your heart and mind and are full of drama-- making you want to claw your screen to pieces :] (but we all know that's why we love the drama)
Love story, high school students, specific art and similar feeling to both
Both are romance animes and somehow both give similar feeling.
Bokura Ga Ita and Kimi ni Todoke have a lot of similarities. They have the same atmosphere, the art style is very similar, both main guy characters look a little alike. They both focus on how a persons relationship with others progresses. Also they are both romances with drama and light comedy.
Both has more on romance...and a little of comedy. The way they graphic it is just the same.
both have similar feeling, talk about the first love.. both have the characters development ...
They both have the same feel and style to it. Their is a very similar art style and the two main guys have the same personality. High school love theme, Drama, Romance, Comedy and a slice of life maybe.
Very similar artstyle, and in the beginning it had the same feeling as Kimi Ni Todoke!
Both couples have slow, developing romances! Both main girls shares the same admiration for the boy, and are slow to notice that their admiration is actually love.
Both the Mail protagonists have very similar personalities! They are both one of the most popular and good-looking at their school! And they are both the center of the attention!
Popular guy, falling for non stupid dummy girl....great story and originality
Both animes take you into a female's perspective of romance.
Animation style is similar. Also, romance dealing with a popular high school boy and a girl that admires him but is insecure about herself.
Both are nicely written romances, and whose animations are quite less-detailed. Kimi ni Todoke is considerably lighter than Bokura ga Ita, though.
Both have romance, but the story is very slow-moving and will most likely leave you screaming at your screen. You will have some sort of strong emotion towards the characters, whether it's love (Sawako in KnT) or Hate (Yano in BgI) because with the amount of drama these shows offer, it's hard to be indifferent.
The main difference between the two is that Bokura ga Ita is a lot more realistic in terms of sexual innocennce and honesty of the characters about their feelings.
They are very similare! they are both hard core romance, drama, slife of life animes! 8D
it's not completly the same story, but almost! ^^ T R U S T me if you like one of them you'll like the other!
Both animes involve a popular guy falling for a less popular girl though it seems more extreme in Kimi ni Todoke
If you loved Kimi ni Todoke, I don't recommend Lovely Complex or even Yamato Nadeshiko for you... Because both animes have totally different Genres than Kimi Ni Todoke, regardless the Story or the Art.
I recommend Bokura ga Ita, because both KNT and Bokura Ga Ita have the romance, shojo, drama and love Complex in the same pattern.
Both are slow developing romances, but leave large impacts on your heart and mind and are full of drama.
The series take place in the typical high school setting with the main focus the development of the characters during this time of life that everyone goes through. Both girls face the typical hardships of their love interest being popular while each having their own individual problems that are fit to the series. In Bokura ga Ita we see a darker side of the high school life and the conflict past relationships bring forth in new relationships. While in Kimi ni Todoke we witness the troubles of a new relationships that was founded on the lack of experience.
With this in mind for each couple, we see the supports go through their own developments in different ways. But the support of the main characters tends to be the same. The male friendship is a bit more skewed and struggles more in Bokura than in Todoke, which gives a similar but twist between the series.
Further we see the female aids aren't similar in many fashions between the two series, but they're "there" and do manage to support. With Bokura we see the uglier side of female competition and a complex supporting. Todoke gives a more sweet and straight forward rivalry and helpful friends with the main character's best interest at heart.
The male leads are similar in their popularity and I'd even say kindness. We see the more humane and typical boy in Bokura while Todoke fashions the untainted and direct male.
The females vary greatly from one being at least somewhat socialable to the other knowing only their own company for most their life. They remain the more shy and unwilling to express themselves clearly type of girls. With the exception of physical and background differences, the two girls are basically the same "type" of high school girl thus making the stories seem like a shy-girl gets the popular-boy.
In their own ways both stories go through heartache and revelations that each suit their series. They're all high school kids going through that transition to maturity and becoming aware of themselves, others, and the situations presented before them.
Both series have similar style in which the main male protagonist is popular while the main female protagonist is fairly average.
Both series takes place at similar settings involving drama, comedy, some emotions, and romance filled with misunderstandings and trials.
Both series explores some real life issues that are realistic.
Both series' animation are also somewhat similar.
Also school, love, classes, Japan, love issues bla bla bla.
In the beginning for both anime, the shy girl falls for the popular cool guy. Both are about developing their relationship, and leaves you going "awwwwh! :D"
The male lead is popular and everyone loves him,
He always smiles but he isn't always happy.
The female lead falls in love first.
However in Bokura go Ita the female isn't "hated" like in Kimi ni Todoke

Peach Girl and Bokura ga Ita pretty much belong to the same category - they contain a lot of drama and romance. These series are perfect especially for girls but they go to some boys too.
I watched Bokura ga Ita first, and I enjoyed it very much. Lots of drama and beautifull plot twists. Peach Girl is a little less realistic than Bokura ga Ita, but I enjoyed it as well. I certainly can say, if you liked the one, you'll definately like the other!
One girl and two boys. That's all (BGI is much better though)
Both have a catchy storyline with a twist of drama & romance with added love triangles here and there.
Both Bokura ga Ita and Peach Girl are about romances between teenagers in high school. Both have a lot of drama and some love triangles. Also, the two main males struggle with an internal conflict of their's that involve unrequited love with another woman. If you like drama, I recommend this.
I liked it because there is similiar scenarios and both of them are romance anime
similar feel ,similar romance, tow guys trying to get the same girl.both really nice romance / drama animes, bokura ga ita is low budget so the art isnt as good.
Peach Girl and Bokura ga Ita are both heavy on high school romance, and revolve purely around just that. If you're up for some true doki-doki moments like in Peach Girl, Bokura ga Ita is the way to go.
Both involve a love triangle..both have similar character personalities
momo n nana-chan r so alike, n it so many twist n drama n romance backed into one anime
im serious if u like either u love the other one
Both series feature "on-again off-again" relationships between the main character and her love interest. In both series, there is also a third guy that gets caught up in the mix. Light comedy is prevalent in both series (although more noticeable in Peach Girl).
The most outstanding similarity, however, is that both anime focuses on, not if the girl gets with the guy, but the actual happenings and goings-on INSIDE of the relationship.
If you enjoy the whole love triangle drama, and romance you will surely enjoy these two animes!
If you enjoy soap anime with love triangles and terrible endings, then I highly recommend Bokura ga Ita & Peach Girl.
yep, are very similar anime, but BGI i'm not finished becoz BGI for children, level of peach girlish ofcoz higher in my opinion and more interesting before the end, end is not good... too big q-ty of troubles%)
Some characters from each anime is similar. Both have two guys fighting over one girl intertwined in the story. I absolutely loved Bokura ga Ita (it became my favorite romance anime over night, i give it a 10/10). Peach Girl was also very good and funny, although Bokura ga Ita was way more realistic and showed what a true relationship is like, Peach girl still had nice romance and drama. In other words Peach Girl is sort of a lighter/less realistic version of Bokura ga Ita. If you like Bokura ga Ita you will enjoy Peach Girl!

They're both shoujo titles which possess a very believable romantic theme between It's two leading protagonists. Also, similar jokes and animation are used throughout both series which denote how similar these two titles really are.
Both have a similar atmosphere, though Kare kano has more commedy. Both have very well developed relationships between male and female protagonists and how they over come their problems with the power of love (more or lessxD)~ Both boys have a sad past and rely on their love to overcome TT____TT
Both are highschool romances but Kare Kano focuses on how both people are feeling about eachother. Kare Kano's animation is a little... not too fantastic but the story and characters are great. You really get to know Arima and Miyazawa and root for both of them to love eachother more.
Both are romance, atmosphere is very similar, but in "Kare Kano" is the more of humor.
I'm convinced that if you liked Bokura ga ita, you will be delighted "Kare Kano" :)
Both are romance shoujo drama.
Interesting main couple who overcome hardships within themselves and between each other, helping each other grow. More angst and less humor than Kare Kano though.
Even though Kare Kano is a bit deeper and has more comedy in it they are really alike. What I love soooo much about both of these is that neither of them go through much heartbreak. A lot of the others have backstabbing freinds and such so you could say they are both a bit of a home-run.
Both MC's in both series go thru problems that teens have while dating.

similar animation and emotional storyline
The animation is similar especially the insert songs.
Mokura ga Ita has the same feel as Honey and Clover. It might be because of the insert songs or the animation.
Both shows are extremely good shoujo romace/slice of life, and they both deal with similar themes. Honey and Clover has more emphasis on career and work, however, as the characters are older.
The art style is really similar and both has drama with romantica.
similar animation, the characters have goals in life they want to achieve
Both romances which are highly revered. Be warned: Honey and Clover is better in almost every single way.
The similar style and animation of the series are hard to deny in both anime(s)
Additionally, there's romance and a slow-paced relationship that are tested throughout the series. There are also smooth soundtrack throughout the series that gives the viewers a gentle feel. Furthermore, drama is imminent that rises from the various obstacles the characters faces as the episodes progresses.
Looking for romance? Looking for a smooth paced series? Looking for bittersweet moments? Look further no more.
It has similar art style and both has to do with romance and will both make you smile and cry.

Both are shoujo anime. Both have romance between a popular guy and a normal/anti-social girl in a school. Both similar, but yet good. It should be noted that Bokura ga ita is more dramatic.
Both have anti-social girls who unexpectedly fall in love with the school most popular boys.
Alike Female protagonists meets popular boy
Both series are lighthearted romantic comedies that is filled with drama, comedy, and romance.
Bokura ga Ita and Sukitte Ii na yo. both has a main girl who is average and normal while the main male protagonist is popular and well liked. However, as they get to know each other, both of them begins to develop feelings.
Both series also has misunderstandings that deals with jealousy that takes place at a school life setting.
Bokura ga Ita is more realistic than Sukitte Ii na yo, but some situations from each is similar and the characters from each anime/manga share similar personality traits. Honestly I would recommend Bokura ga Ita in a heart beat over Sukitte Ii na yo, because the Sukittie Ii na yo anime wasn't that great(I prefer the manga way more). Although I love the Sukitte Ii na yo manga, I haven't read the Bokura ga Ita manga yet, so I can't compare them until I do...I'll be sure to recommend it when I do(then you will get a great comparison paragraph)
PS: Bokura ga Ita isn't your average shoujo(I'm not even sure if I want to call a shoujo), its a true realistic love story...thats what makes it so beautiful(I rate it a 10/10). Be sure to watch it!
Genre for both anime: Romance, Shoujo ...
These two anime are full of romance ,love problems, interruption in relationship etc.
Trust me you won't regret :D

Good dramas. And more Nanas.
It's hard to explain why these series are similar to each other. I'd rather say that if you liked Bokura ga Ita, you'd love NANA. Why? Bokura ga Ita relates a story about teenagers in love, NANA concentrates on a little older, but still young people; but still, their problems look really similar. Though, in NANA they're more serious. Plus the individual characters and awesome music.
Drama, romance, angst... Shoujo all the way! They're both serious and on the soapy side, with nice artwork and realistic characters.
both animes going to make cry like hell!!!thats what similar in these two animes,,,,
The drama and romance are very similar. They are both extremely heart-breaking. However, NANA is longer and therefore it is more dramatic and heart-breaking. They both also have some humor.
They are both very dramatic and both have a very good grasp of a deep manga.
Bokura ga ita is more of a highschool story and NANA is more mature but I think they are both very good and people would enjoy both of them.

If you like Bokura ga Ita then u will like Itazura na kiss.. that is unless your looking for it to be a quicker romance like bokura
Anyone that think this is going to be great would watch this too
One of the best shojo titles
Bokura ga Ita and Itazura na Kiss are great comparisons because the underlying personalities are similar, at times their situations are too, but they pry apart in very healthy ways, making both anime's recognizable in emotions to the viewer, but unique enough that the viewer may want to keep watching.
Bokura ga Ita and Itazura na Kiss both feature a female lead with larger than life hopes and dreams. They have this glittery sense of love and affection that usually leads them to be highly emotional and intensely devoted to the person they care about. Both anime's also feature male leads who are incredibly inept at expressing their emotions and needs. Misunderstandings bounce around everywhere, and lifes confusing twists make these both very interesting anime's to watch.
What I enjoy most about them is that they aren't completely cardboard cut outs of previous animes, they don't replicate a past story. They also hold a bit of truth to them (despite some random situational circumstances). The differences also come with the time progression, the animation styles. Bokura ga Ita has a few scenes that seem to literally pull themselves out of a misty winters day dream. Itazura na Kiss is more reminiscent of sunflowers and spring. (If you're an imaginative person, when you see them, you'll see what I mean).
Really great animes, both are worth watching for the sake of twisting your own tummy into a knot and going "wtf!? awww why can't life be more like that"
both bittersweet romances. just as bokura ga ita makes no effort to hide the hardship of love, itazura also does not sugar-coat the couples ups and downs.
unapproachable guy falling for a total dumb girl again.....this goes far
Love stry...but this involves more cliche comedy...well made
Both main guy protaganist's are alike and both love stories
"Bokura ga Ita" is a good love story in which both lovers admit their love and try to keep it from outside problems.
Both Suzuka and Bokura ga Ita have very similar plots, in which one of the characters are distracted by the thought of another person that is not physically present in the plot itself. They are also very dramatic with few or limited comedy scenes, with great character development and lots of suspense for the roller coaster ride effect. The best way to think about these two anime is the genders are switch for the main characters of the two series. This only applies to romance, since Bokura ga Ita does not have sports as a prevalent theme.
Without spoiling, both animes deal with similar obstacles to new love.
-Both are romance dramas, heavy on the drama.
-In both stories, the main character falls in love with a classmate who can't get over someone from their past
Both are great school romance animes
love between unusual people different setting....
Both are exquisite comedy-romance and the drama is as eye-catching as the one in Toradora!
Same genre, Mao + Kai + Kouichi reminds me of Nana + Nano + Takeuchi. They both have some complex in their relationship, although Bokura ga ita's is much detailed.
its kinda the same ^^ romance comedy school and slice of life same! and its kinda better (:
They are both love story. Well...both of these movies has a serious relationships. In kimi ga nozomu eien, and bokura ga ita, there lived one boy in these movies and has 2 girlfriends but one girlfriend had an accident.
These two romance anime both features love which, at some point, leads to betrayal.
This overall atmosphere of both of these anime's are similar. While Bokura ga Ita deals with relationships in an everyday setting, White Album sets theirs within the well-loved Idol industry. Both have drama, however White Album may be something for those who like the more intense side that drama can bring.
Both shows deal with the struggles of keeping a relationship together. Both have some good comedy moments to balance everything out, and enough drama to keep you wanting more.
Both are very similar in which an experienced guy meets inexperienced girl and they both learn how to express their feelings of mutual love for one another.
both are love stories worth watching....middori has a fantasy element which may not be of general taste and also has nudity
Chihayafuru reminds me so much Bokura Ga Ita because they have love triangle , and the art is very similiar.
Both have romance and love. Both stories have some aspect of an issue in the relationship that could cause serious concerns. The romance is very similar as well as the conflicted emotions they are feeling.
It just seems similar both guys are popular and both girls are so innocent! :3
And the girls falls for the boy in the begining.
But bokura ga ita is has more drama in it ^^
And this and anime is short and cute
Romance and Drama anime.
It challenges both characters how to overcome different circumstances that will lead to them.
Both very introspective/emotional romances. Cross Game is 10x better than Bokura, so that's saying something.
-Both animes focuses very deeply into the story that involves love triangles and one-sided love as well as problems surrounding it.
-School Life
Both are shoujo anime's, they are romantic comedy's set mainly in school. They both have main characters with different personalities who fall for each other. The male main characters are similar. Both of them have another male character who also falls for the female main character. Bokura ga Ita is more emotional, dramatic and goes more into detail with everything that happens but they both have the same sort of storyline and are similar in ways. If you like one you will most likely like the other one ^_^
They are both really good drama and romance animes.
Both anime revolve around a typical girl who ends up meeting a boy. After a bit of time, the boy and girl end up going out. The males in both anime are very alike - the cool guys who have plenty of girls waiting for them. Plus, the animation style are very similar to each other. All in all, they are both simple shoujo anime: and if you liked one of these anime - you're definitely going to like the other one.
The two anime is abut : Love , Friendship , School life ,and the main girl is adorable and cute and Very Very Innocent .
both are stories about young love and the feeling are a lot alike.
Well, The only thing in this anime that made them similar is that they both belong under the ROMANCE genre.
The setting, art and everything are very different.
But still, if you're looking for an anime that would make your nose wet and your eyes sore, I'd recommend you to watch this one.
In both the main girl has a sort of love triangle with two boys that are best friends. The end of both animes gives a similar feeling.
Same animes, I mean hose both are harems, both are eech, both are funny. If you like watching a funny romance plot with interesting characters, then this is a must-watch
Both are sentimental stories, to watch if you like the genre :-P
Both anime are incredibly dramatic when they could be comedies. Not exactly to my taste, but if you enjoy one, then you will probably enjoy the other.
These are similar because they both deal with actual life situations that often happen. They revolve around one trying to find love and comfort from what they've lost, or trying to find something that helps make them feel whole and happy.
Both anime are high school romance dramas in which the male protagonist has trouble dealing with his past love.
Personality wise the main characters have a lot in common. Edgar and Yano are very confident, popular, good looking and untrustworthy. Lydia and Nana-chan both have self-esteem problems, as well as being kind and thoughtful. The overall drama and relationship progression are similar too.
Love triangle....
Love story
Love funny
Slice of life
If you've seen Bokura Ga Ita and Gakuen Alice, you're probably saying "They're not alike AT ALL!" But I found something similar.
Gakuen Alice is about powers and alices' right, but there are romances too. Ruka and Natsume both like Mikan. Ruka is like Take-kun from Bokura Ga Ita. They are both nice and gentle to the one they both love = Take likes Takashi and Ruka likes Mikan. Though, it's obvious, Mikan/Nanai can't return their love for Ruka/Take.
Yano/Natsume like Nana/Mikan, but got off on the wrong foot. (Yano tricked Nanami and Natsume saw Mikan's underwear.)
I feel they are similar in a way, and I feel I like it.
Both are romantic, love complex, cute.Nana and Yuuki are very sensitive girls and they don't know who to choose from the 2 guys that like them.
similar design
shows the senses of lovers, and the situation in which they fall
Some scenes, especially the station scenes and the snowy background reminded me of Bokura ga Ita. As well as the similarities like High school students, separation, long distance relationship, ex-lovers, admirers, problematic family matters... You can find them in both. But Bokura ga Ita is far better.
both this two series are enjoyable to watch, great drama mixed with a great amount of comedy that will make you cry and laugh almost at the same time.
