Synopsis

When Shoutarou Tatewaki first meets Sakurako Kujou, he knows his life will never be the same. Initially believing her to be responsible for a disappearance in the neighborhood, he later learns of her true talent: analyzing bone specimens. Sakurako has quite the collection of reconstructed animal bones, but she wishes she had more of the human variety, much to the chagrin of those around her.

Soon, Shoutarou begins accompanying the eccentric osteologist on the many different unsolved cases she comes across—usually in the form of decomposing bodies. But with so many incidents happening around them, could there be a larger mystery at work in their lives?

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru is a story of two unlikely partners, each showing in their own way that bones can tell how one died, but only people can tell how they lived.

Sakurako-san is a brilliant anime that would have excelled had it simply chosen what it wanted to be; a series of short one off mysteries set in the same town with re-occurring characters, or a dramatic clash between two intellects with a similar yet conflicting interest in bones.
Credit where it is due, the music is brilliant and kept me invested or built suspense where it was needed. Some of the visuals were brilliant if insanely underused (Sakurako surrounded by her walking bones blew me away every time, especially with the swell of music accompanying it.) The detail the bones was fantastic and I found myself ...

Mixed Feelings
I thought this is an okay anime for binge watching then forgetting about it.
The main characters sometimes feel too fantastic and this is supposed to be based in reality setting. the way they get their cases is just too coincidental or just plain unbelievable.
The thing i didn't like about it is that it feels incomplete and unfinished like they built up the plot and the tension and then just finished the series.
I do like the fact that they are solving cases but most of the time i am wondering why people are even answering their questions and going along with the whims of a ...

If you're going to watch this series, do it for the mysteries, not the plot.

You know those kind of series that are always episodic and every now and then it gives you a hint that somehow it really has a background story (to never really unravel it)? This is one of those. The basis for everything is Sakurako and her love for bones, being an osteologist. She and Shoutarou are friends(?) and like to unearth bones to add them to Sakurako's large skeletal collection. Oh, and they solve mysteries regarding those bones as well.

I'm having a tough time trying to write about how does the ...
