Both anime have a plot in which characters are trying to solve a series of mysteries. While Sakurako-san's scope is much larger by solving various incidents like murder, accidents, and more, Danganronpa focuses solely on murder. The protagonist of Sakurako-san is a female who loves bones and solves various cases in a seemingly episodic approach. While the protagonist of Danganronpa is a highschool male student who got trapped inside the academy with other students right after he enrolled and one by one gets murdered as time passes by.
