These series are not about spectacular murder cases, but rather about the mysteries of everyday life. They turn the ordinary into something special, relying on atmosphere and scenery to draw in the audience. The 'cases' (if you may call them so) are small in scale, but both series show the emotional impact that they make on the involved characters.

Both are mystery anime and have a very similar atmosphere. The main protagonists, a female genius and a soft-hearted but brave supporting male student solve mysterious cases. Though every episode greets us with yet another mystery there is a clear secret around the main character Sakurako, as we had it in Gosick with little Victorique. The main female protagonists act very similar; sometimes they are very honest and concentrated on the case, other times they act childish, especially while having an argument with the male protagonist. An amazing detail to notice is the way both Sakurako and Victorique solve those mysteries. Victorique gathers her 'fragments of  read more

They're both mystery shows that have someone who is gifted in solving mysteries and isn't disturbed by the crime, and has sort of sidekick that is. They both have mysterious masterminds and butterfly theme.

Both anime show us a work of the informal female detectives. Both girls have a great capacity for deduction. The girls have inexperienced assistants who seem at first are skeptics.

Similar duo of protagonists ( leaders with a difficult personality and their cute and caring assistant ) who solve mysteries while a bad guy is lurking in the dark. Both have a similar rhythm and narrative drive. Pretty relaxing and quiet anime despite a latent darkness.

The main character meets a mysterious female. He helps her solve mysteries. Both are harboring a secret. One involves ghost/spirits. While the other a no ghosts.

Both shows deal with the mysterious death of ordinary, everyday people. Some stories are episodic showcasing the lead up and how and why the people died the way they did. The differences are that Death parade deals with the supernatural approach concerning the after life, while Sakurako is closer to reality, focusing on the forensics and investigation of each case.

Both anime are murder mysteries based on novels aimed at the adult crowd, with little to no pandering. Sakurako has more lighthearted slice of life themes, is more episodic, featuring several cases, and focuses heavily on forensics, while Subete is a single dark thriller storyline with much higher stakes. Both anime combine a dark-haired, antisocial, melancholy, knowledgeable adult protagonist with a younger, brown-haired, pluckier, and more "normal" deuteragonist. Additionally, both take place in locations in the real world.

Similiar ideas, solving a case about murders and killers, there are intelligent characters who can solve the case!!!

Both are detective stories. Both are dark. They are both relatively slow-paced (Sakurako san being more so). Both have eccentric leads, both have a lead that walks the line between falling into the abyss. Both have a great relationship/bond between main leads.

Eerie mysteries in both animes solved predominantly with logic (although Ghost Hunt involves more supernatural occurrences). In both animes the 2 main characters are partners in solving mysteries, separated by a considerable age gap. The younger accomplice is just a high schooler, but has more potential than initially thought, while the older accomplice specializes in what they do.

Both shows display a relaxing and natural feeling, even the protagonists being exposed to situations that would be unusual to normal people's life. Sakurako and "Holmes" are similar characters, not only because of their personality (serene and quiet on the outside, even in the face of tense situations) but also for their surreal deductive ability.

Both has episodic style of main character(s) solving some mysteries that involves people around them, and sometimes, those mysteries has a certain level of dramatic or even tragic past for the character involved on it.

They have a similarity in characters. Both Usa and Shoutaro are alike, they are high school boys who tried to get closer to their older female relative. Also the two female leads are lived with an old woman who are good in cooking. So, if you enjoyed one, you might like the other.

Some things these shows have in common: - Episodical with some character development and a subtle main plot - Good animation (although violet's animation is better) - Both violet and sakurako are kinda unempathetic but thats not really an important detail. All in all i got the same vibe from both shows and had me close to tears at some point.

Both series circle in a duo that solve mysteries with one of the character being extremely experienced and knowledgeable over a certain field. For Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru they collect and decode the case through bones while in Housekishou Richard-shi no Nazo Kantei they use gems / jewelries.

Main character finds some peculiar thing in town and investigates the phenomenon. Episodic episodes where one does not relate to others.

The main characters Sakurako and Sunako have a lot in common. They're both long, black-haired beauties with an interest in the macabre and have anti-social personalties to match.

If you are a fan of the lead, Maomao and her investigative nature you will enjoy Beautiful Bones. The art style is just as stunning and the topics are much the same which deals in death and mystery. It is only missing the backroom intrigue represented in Apoth diaries, but it replaces those aspects with a more suspenseful atmosphere.

both about detectives that try to mentor an individual who thinks themselves worthless.

Both anime have a plot in which characters are trying to solve a series of mysteries. While Sakurako-san's scope is much larger by solving various incidents like murder, accidents, and more, Danganronpa focuses solely on murder. The protagonist of Sakurako-san is a female who loves bones and solves various cases in a seemingly episodic approach. While the protagonist of Danganronpa is a highschool male student who got trapped inside the academy with other students right after he enrolled and one by one gets murdered as time passes by.

In the biggest sense, these are only related through the feeling of mystery and a lost loved one, more specifically, a sibling. If you're interested in a good mystery these both are pretty decent. Lingtan kind of goes into a deeper supernatural realm that turns scientific whereas Sakurako is straight up forensics and even debunks anything not possible by science.

Looking for a mystery anime set in a world with paranormal happenings? Both shows solve mysteries whyle showing the past and background of the characters - which is definitely not "normal" or "usual". Both shows have a male and female lead who are geting to know each other throughout the series. The vibes of the two anime is somewhat similar too in my opinion.

both are mystery. sakurako's love for bones reminded me of dalian with her love for books and how both of those obsession's are a big part of the story. they both also have a male partner.

Both are mystery anime in which they both investigate cases. The main characters of each anime, Sakurako and Sherlock, go through a in-depth phase when they are explaining how they solve their case.

I found Shoutarou similar with Takashi and Sakurako similar with Reiko (or Madara). Despite 'Natsume Yuujinchou' more concentrate on helping spirits, while 'Sakurako-san' on murderous cases, both share somewhat similar 'heartwarming slice of life' atmosphere.

These shows are remarkably similar in the style and tone of the mysteries they present. Although Un-Go has both a sci-fi and supernatural twist to them, it is probably the more traditional mystery out of the two. The characters in both are fun, although Un-Go has a better developed cast. If you like Sakurako-san, you will most likely love Un-Go. If you finished Un-go and wanted something to snack on, Sakurako-san isn't a bad choice, although you may find it lacking comparatively.

Both stories involve crimes - murders and the story development in both animes is similar. At first you can see there's some kind of mystery in the whole enviroment and story and you go from one case to the next, but then, the characters show a bit more of themselves and we start to follow a grand scheme. The chara design is a bit different between those two, Sakurako-san being much more pleasing to the eye and the colors are more vivid, and Boku Dake being more dark and in faded colors, but they both have their charm.
