From Shoujo to Shounen, these are some pretty good isekai that I’ve gathered and enjoyed. There are some older pieces on here and some pretty niche things on here as well so I hope you guys can find something that you haven’t seen before. I have some anime that I’m anticipating as well so make sure to add them to your to watch list!
Akuyaku Reijou nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
I’ve read the manga and it’s a very interesting story. While ‘My Next Life as a Villainess’ is a reverse harem story with a main character who is dense.. this story is about a cunning woman who is trying to survive in a setting where people are trying to kill her. It’s interesting and I believe this anime is way more enticing than ‘My Next Life as a Villainess’.
Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!
TV, 2022, 20 eps Me:- Author:8
The Eminence in Shadow is probably one of the most hilarious manga I’ve ever read. The anime, so far, isn’t as funny… yet, but it just started. It’s amazing so far though, the animation is crisp and while they’ve cut some things out they’ve done it to make it more impactful and I appreciate that. This show is fun and I love it. I had to kick something out the list to put this in but it’s well deserved. Definitely give this a go.
Chuan Shu Zijiu Zhinan
ONA, 2020, 10 eps Me:- Author:7
This donghua is hilarious, while the art style is in 3D I believe that it fits it’s setting. The main character is involved in very drastic situations and listening to him think is always just so funny. It also can be pretty serious at times and heart warming. Give this show a go!
Kenja no Mago
TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
I know a lot of people don’t enjoy this show because they believe it’s just a generic isekai. Fair enough, it doesn’t do anything too extremely different from other isekai shows besides the fact that there isn’t a harem and the main character, Shin, is trying to make sense of the new world he was transmigrated into but because he’s so powerful and was born into a well established family, he’s quite sheltered. He also has knowledge from another world like science that allows him to improve his abilities, so he doesn’t really understand common sense. However, I think that’s quite interesting. Watching him go around and try to protect the people he loves, improve spells, and learn about the unique things in his new world is fun. It’s also helpful that not every girl is in love with him and there are romantic relationships outside of him (side characters with actual personalities besides worshiping him) that are cute too. Try it! If you like it, good. If you don’t then fine.
Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
I have read the novel and manga for this novel, and while I’ve noticed that a lot of manga and novel fans had a problem with the art style of this anime… I’m actually very happy with this adaption. In the source material, Leon is supposed to be ugly in comparison to most of the characters in the video game. Thing is though, it’s an Otome game and everyone is supposed to be beautiful in some way shape or form. I like how they made the characters look so stunningly pretty in this and while Leon isn’t as pretty as the others he still could be passed as attractive and I think that was a smart executive decision. A person who didn’t read the source material could obviously see that it’s a great show. The characters are well developed, the story and setting are good, and the world building is great too. I like where they ended the story and I also appreciate the other smart decisions they made in order to make this a great show. Definitely try this out.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari
TV, 2019, 25 eps Me:- Author:7
Shield Hero is a great show. I love the setting, the power system, the characters that are friends with Naofumi. This show does a good job at making villains dislikable as well as making it clear that Naofumi isn’t perfect either. The characters feel like real people with real and despicable goals as well as good ones. Unlike other shows where people feel comfortable to ship villains with heroes or to simp for the villains, no one can do so for this show. Try and see if you like it. While this show has some disturbing topics mentioned, I still think it’s a good show to watch and check out. Just be careful.
Douluo Dalu
ONA, 2018, 26 eps Me:- Author:7
This is a great donghua with amazing world building and great characters! I love the main character, he’s a genuinely good person with good ideals and morals. The world he’s transported into is very different from the ones in anime and the power system is incredibly unique. Give this show a go!
Drifters
TV, 2016, 12 eps Me:- Author:9
A bunch of historical figures get transported into this world before their deaths and you get to see them fighting each other or becoming allies. It’s so fun to see them intermingling with each other and it’s also a very violent and gory show. I’m absolutely in love with this show and I feel like so many of you would love it as well.
Endride
TV, 2016, 24 eps Me:- Author:6
This anime is pretty fun and interesting, I wouldn’t say it’s revolutionary or anything but if you’re just in the mood for something fun, check it out.
Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?
TV, 2017, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
This is an interesting watch. Again, I wouldn’t say it’s a revolutionary show but it’s dot it’s own charms. I can safely say that I haven’t seen a show like it and it does take an interesting take on the isekai trope. Give it a couple episodes and see if it’s for you. If it’s not I understand.
Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
This show is so amusing and I loved every minute of it. As someone who’s read that source material before that anime even aired, I was immensely happy with this adaption. It looks how I would’ve imagined it too and it retained all of the original charm that the original source material has as well. I love almost every character in this story besides like two or three. The world building is great too. Please check this out.
Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
This show is funny and sweet, I wouldn’t say it’s too amazing and unlike the usual after watching the show I didn’t feel the urge to hunt down the manga and read it. It’s a fun show about a man who turn into a beautiful girl after being sent to a new world with his best friend and shenanigans ensue while they begin getting newfound feelings for one another even though they don’t want that to happen. It’s adorable.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar
TV, 2016, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
This is a pretty good isekai, it’s been a while since I last watched it but I think it hold up even now. It’s not the most stand out story in my list and while I do recommend it, there are better shows in here. At least to me.
Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki
TV, 2021, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
This show is fantastic at world building, the whole premise is that this guy gets summoned into the world and while he can’t defeat the demon king himself, he can help build up the kingdom he was summoned into so that they don’t have to worry about any enemy attacks. It’s fascinating and refreshing, please check it out.
Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki Part 2
TV, 2022, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
The second part of this show is just as good as the first so if you’re hesitant on starting this part, don’t be. Binge watch them both!
Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
TV, 2015, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Gate is a fun and intriguing take on the isekai genre. A gate to a world opens in Japan and people get sent int to check out what’s inside. Different species meet with the humans on regular Earth and while there is a lot of action there’s also politics and trying find peaceful solutions. It’s a very interesting show.
Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri Part 2
TV, 2016, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
I believe this part is as interesting as the first so please binge watch this as well!
No Game No Life
TV, 2014, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Almost everyone has probably heard of this show. I feel like it would be very dumb of me not to put this on my isekai list. While I do enjoy the show, he dynamic between the sister and the main character is pretty creepy. It’s a fun watch and the world is very cool but just keep that in mind if you are hesitating on watching it.
InuYasha
TV, 2000, 167 eps Me:- Author:6
An oldie but a goodie, ignore my rating that’s out of pure and unadulterated spite. I love this show and it’s very good, it’s an iconic classic. This show can be very frustrating but it’s still amazing and the characters are all very well rounded. I gave it a 6 mostly because Inuyasha the character annoyed me the entirety of the show but other than him there are many other great characters. The setting is beautiful and it’s a wonderful show.
InuYasha: Kanketsu-hen
TV, 2009, 26 eps Me:- Author:6
This part is a must watch for people who want to know how Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship is going to end up so don’t just watch the first and original part of the show. You have to watch this.
Isekai Quartet
TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
I think this show is very fun and cute. Obviously, to be able to understand the show you’d have had to watch most, if not all, the shows on this list. It’s definitely adorable and funny though.
Isekai Quartet 2
TV, 2020, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
I liked this quite a lot more than the first one, mostly because of the addition of Naofumi. I think it’s a very fun sequel.
Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Definitely not an amazing show, I liked it quite a bit, the main character was interesting and his backstory as an assassin was enjoyable. I love how he’s being brought up as an assassin as well. I think the premise is very interesting. I don’t think that it payed off very well but I still think it’s interesting enough to recommend. Someone might enjoy it more than I did.
Isekai Yakkyoku
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
This show is very interesting! A man who was lauded a genius in pharmacy dies of over work and he gets reincarnated into a boy named Farma in a world where the practice of medicine is extremely lackluster. He spends his time trying to improve the practice of medicine to save lives. It’s got a great premise, the characters are well developed, and it’s a cute little show. Give it a watch.
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
TV, 2016, 25 eps Me:- Author:3
While I don’t enjoy this show as you can probably tell from the rating. I understand the hype surrounding it. It’s a very popular show and I’m not going to sit here and say it’s horrible from start to finish… I just don’t like it. I’d also recommend this show to anyone just starting on in trying isekai. It’s not my thing, but it could be yours.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu
TV, 2021, 11 eps Me:- Author:7
This show is applauded as an amazing show with great development and etc. I’ll say that it’s extremely good at world building, the characters are very interesting as well. The main character is a garbage human being and the premise of the show is that thanks to this new world he’s in he's becoming a better person. It’s definitely something. It can be very creepy though so just watch it with that in mind.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Part 2
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
I like this better than he first part because the main character gets a little bit less creepy and the people around him get better development as well.
Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikinuku you desu!
TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:- Author:5
This show is just a fun show, it’s nothing too interesting or unique. Check it out if you want though I can’t guarantee that everyone will enjoy this.

Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu
TV, 2018, 12 eps Me:- Author:5
This is harem, garbage galore. It’s a weird little show, don’t take it seriously at all if you plan to watch it and you’ll have fun. The main character is funny enough to make the show a fun little anime.
Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi
TV, 2018, 26 eps Me:- Author:7
I love this cute little show! The show is about a girl who gets spirited away into a weird new world. This is an ADORABLE Shoujo series and the love interests are all very intriguing. Definitely give this a watch.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

This series is a very funny parody on the isekai genre and I appreciate what it did. It’s funny, light hearted, and the characters are all fun!
Kumo desu ga, Nani ka?
TV, 2021, 24 eps Me:- Author:8
Watching this spider, this tiny creature trying to survive is just somehow so investing. The main character is just so unique and fun. Definitely give this a look!
Leadale no Daichi nite
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
This show isn’t very unique and while I did enjoy myself, it’s definitely not for everyone. I like that the main character became her avatar and gets to meet with her children in the game. I think that’s a very important thing that they added in there, since in a lot of games, people like to create their own children. It’s a fun story. Try and see if it’s for you.
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
TV, 2019, 23 eps Me:- Author:8
This show is so funny and sweet! It’s an adorable idea. The characters are so intriguing and I love them all. Watch Iruma try to make it in demon school as a human, you’ll have a blast.
Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou desu yo?

This show is alright, I doubt too many of you will find it incredibly amazing or anything like that. I think the characters are pretty fun but I wouldn’t say the show is smart or anything.
Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta...
TV, 2020, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
This show is pretty good, it’s a funny little show and it’s pretty cute. Watching Katarina make all of these people fall in love with her without any idea of what she’s doing is just interesting. Check it out!

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken
TV, 2018, 24 eps Me:- Author:8
Slime is a must watch isekai, if you’re getting into the genre I’d say this show is the one you should start off with, all of the characters are very well developed and while it has a bit of a slow start you’ll be episodes from the beginning and then suddenly finish wondering where all the rest of the episodes are. WATCH THIS.
