We have a few shared anime but not really much similarity in ratings and our affinity is apparently not too great. XD

Haha, I'm working on a tower defense, and that's a lot of work too lol. Doesn't help that I'm currently working on some UI stuff that's painfully dull and uninteresting to me... Already did a lot of the fun stuff like how units are grouped into waves and spawned, how the towers target units, and a trait system for both units and towers based on bitmasked integers with an enum of flags, but now I have to make it an actual game where the player can do something, rather than just a simulation of my testing scenario XD

I haven't really worked with Unity, though it definitely seems to be popular. I'm running with Gamemaker Studio 2, since I came in with some familiarity from screwing around with older versions in high school and a GMS1.4 license I got for a steal off a Humble Bundle forever ago. Granted, the fact that you can use C# in Unity should be a major draw considering my last job was basically all C# and SQL Server...

Dude, that's awesome! Just being able to point to specific features in literal GotY games and say "see that? Yeah, I made that work" is ridiculously brag-worthy. I sure as hell don't have anything that can top that XD I'm super jealous.

I've been trying to parley my coding experience from being a web dev for ~1 year and a software engineer for 5, together with my love of stories, into making games, but of course I feel like I have to stubbornly do things the hard way by doing it all myself @_@ It's tough to get things done without someone cracking the whip though...

Oh wow, I was expecting to relate on the indie game field, but that's some big-name AAA stuff, color me impressed :o What kind of stuff do you do on these games, if I may ask?

Yo, yep I dunno what came over me when I stalled this in the first place (I prioritized Made in Abyss welp) but damn I want more. Looks like i'll have to read the effin' manga.
