I decided to write a comment because this is just a momentous occasion. You're an original elitist!

No i didnt actually realize that. I knew that Mamoru Oshii adapted many of the movie he produced (like Sky Crawlers), but i wasnt aware that the Ghost in the Shell manga was made before the movie and that someone else wrote it ( i thought it was similar to akira with Otomo Katsuhiro). But i dont know how much Oshii followed the sorce material. I would need to check that out someday. Thx for letting me know.

I hope i understood you know. You mean because consciousness isnt explainable (or understandable) for human mind and for science it isnt creatable. Its like the question "what is the purpose of life" isnt truely answereable. Well yeah thats basically true. I have heard very wild ideas of subconscious world where every human mind is connected that tries to explain where the human mind came from. But they are all theory and everyone believes in his/her own things.
I dont want to go into more detail what i actually believe, especially not in english, but let's just say that when life evolves into intelligent and therefore a mind, why shouldnt articifal life evolve into an artificial mind, where we would be at the chemical part you already mentioned, but i guess you could optimize life itself without all the unecessary obstacles like needing food, exhausting mussles and needing air to breath. Well thats very much a theory and yeah its true that "Ghost in the shell" didnt go into more detail about that theme. Maybe Mamoru Oshii didnt consider it, maybe he wanted to spend his screen time on other, for him more important things, i dont know.

Maybe Ghost in the Shell was a bit early for its ideas with the year 2029 but i can imaging that in the futur the brain will be enough understood to know which function the electrical waves have and then you just need a good enough computer to create these kinds of energy. Surly they will start big, with house tall computers but like the usb stick they will slowly become as big as human brains. I dont really think the chemical importence HOW the brain creates electricity is so much important here.

Casshern Sins focuses more on the fundamental questions of how important death is to be alife. That death is the thing that makes us alife. If you like that setting you should definitly check it out.

I have to correct me at my last comment though. I wouldnt say that Lain presents its ideas in a more unrealisitc way, that would be a too radical thing to say. Lets say it doesnt explains it that much Ghost in the Shell does (when you have something similair to the internet it already explains itself). Lain wanted to be more bizar.

Also im sry for you that R2 is now above Lotgh in ratings. But you shouldnt judge R2 completly from the first season. In my opinion did it have better action, the story goes on better, i think they put more strategic into the battles (but i could be wrong there) and the ending of R2 was extremly good ( what you propably know already, since everyone is praising it for its ending)

I suppose you read my review about it, but on the other hand if you had i guess u already knew the answeres of your question.

So besides the conversation between the puppetmaster and the other character which hold enough deaper meaning subjects, is the whole idea of ghost in the shell how the futur will become one day, at least from the point of view Mamoru Oshii has it. And I would say it is a possibility. In there are some threatening concepts like how memories are nothing more than data that can be deleted, or that your consciousness can be hacked and controlled without you even knowing it. The similair idea of Serial Experiments Lain, only in Ghost in the Shell it is more realisitc than Lain's brilliant idea of conrtolling the consciousness of humans by the magnetic forcefield of the earth which is for the time it playes a bit unbelievable to have the technology to do that.

So if this answere wasnt good enough for you, i would suggest reading my review about it, that should answere all your questions.

What do you dislike about Code Geass R2 so much? Yeah it has certain amount of fanservice in it, which was completly annoying for me, but overall the story wasnt that bad, when i can remember correctly (i watched it about a year ago)

Besides the fact that only 301 person have voted "LotgH" with 1 (i dont know how much % of these just made this because its populare, but lets say 50%.. so we got 150 people who voted it 1 because of their anger, or whatever), which is a very little amount compared to the 6338 people who voted it a 10, isnt the mean score of the show utterly unimportant to an individual? If someone rated it with 1 but himself found it was ok, isnt him feeling ok with the show much more important than the anime now having 9.01 instead of 9.00. Is it so important to you that your favourit anime is on a higher mean score, you liked it after all, so isnt that what counts? And if some people hate the anime because of its hype i dont think it is so easy to make them NOT hate the anime anymore. People like and dislike anime because of their own reasons, i could complain that people give this anime a 10 for rather naive reasons, other than to analyse it.

What reason makes you believe 1/10 isnt a fair rating for "Lotgh"? Besides the fact that score is only based on subjectiv thoughts, so it doesnt matter how much YOU think the characters of "Lotgh" are good, this thought is not a fact therefore there is the possibility that other people can get annoyed not only by the characters but by the whole anime, does this anime not achieve to present a realistic view of war (what is its main storyline afterall), has old artstyle, unfitting soundtracks and has shallow and unrealisitic characters.
