From it's OP, and initial premise. To even have a character named Chutuary (Nicknamed) ChuChu which is the same name as Anthy's friend or Pet in Utena.

WAIT WAIT BEFORE YOU RUN UP ON ME. I don't care about your opinion on Franxx because at this point, It's very hard to not notice similarities. -Both shows has the underlining theme of finding strength with the people around you -Both shows have light sexual harassment. -Both shows use "love" or romantic relationships impossible to occur due to the main characters profession. -Not to mention the staffs of both shows being involved in Neon Genesis Evangelion In my opinion, I think Hismaso is far better than Franxx due to it's writing and more likable characters.

-Both Original ONA's by BONES -Both have the same series composer according to MAL -Both have SCI-FI foreign matter or aliens that are connected to the main MC -Both have a secondary MC more familiar with these matter or Aliens Honestly they're almost the same show. However, I feel like Xam'd had a better cast of characters, better music (Although the OST for AICO is good), a more original looking Alien or matter, and in my opinion, a more pleasing aesthetic.

They both have very interesting and well thought out plots. Both series has a thriller aspect to it. One difference is that Eden of the East's plot has more of an impact on Japan and the world compared to Erased which is self contained between a few characters own issues.

Both have a female and male MC. Both have some extra terrestrial like or antagonist to fight against. They both seem to have similar story telling in which all the details are revealed throughout the series instead of an info dump on the first episode. Really only difference so far is that in Bounen, instead of mechs, its Xam'd.

It has a similar vibe to it. The MC has an accident or some sort of reason not to pilot the mech. It has a similar cast of high school boys and girls and has a "reason" that these teenagers are the only one to fly these mechs. They both have to fight some foreign power from another plant or different species or robots or whatever.
